The Secret Of My Father's DisappearanceWords: 10215

They went to the abandoned house and then inspected the place and entered it with careful steps, the medium-sized house has a large garden containing games for children, but it is worn out because of natural factors, the paint in the house is peeling off and in some places the bricks are visible. No one has looked after this house for years.

Both detectives came in and asked Sarah to stay outside, Unlike the house in which her father Max lived, this house contained the home furnishings, there is spoiled food in the kitchen and the wardrobe is full.

Jan muttered looking at the closet: That's weird, the clothes look clean... (Then he said to him): It seems that they had gathered their things and ran out.

"Yes," said Mark, as he looked outside to check on Sarah, "I think they were being followed by someone."

He said: Because of those footprints?

Nod affirmative: I noticed a few footprints at the back door compared to the footprints in the front door.

Reply: And what are these strange effects!

He got down on his knee to inspect it, then answered him: Pulling marks.

She said: This means that they have moved to another place.

They turned to her and Mark said: I told you to stay out.

She replied: "I can't stand there while you two are looking."

Jan approached and interrupted them, saying: Quarreled later, now we must figure out where the people in this house are headed. We're done here so let's go out and look around.

Jan came out and Sarah said: Do you hear that voice? It looks like someone is pulling the chains on the floor.

He replied, "It's the neighbor's dog, I saw it while we were outside."

They sat for a few hours asking people and shop owners about this family until an old lady pointed them to the address of the family's new home. Jan rang the bell and waited for a response from them.

A few minutes passed and no answer. Sarah sighed: I hate abandoned houses.

Mark: I'm going to ask a neighbor, maybe they can help us with something.

He was going, but they turned to the voice of an old man behind them: How can I help you?

Advance Jan: Do you live here, Grandpa?

He answered: Yes, I live here. but who are you? And what are you doing in front of my house?

Sarah: Please excuse us, Grandpa. We didn't mean to bother you, but we're looking for Mary's house, and the neighbors have pointed us here. Can we talk to you about Mary?

He opened the door for them and then they sat on the ground. The old man asked: Mary! It's been so many years since she disappeared, so why are you here now?

Jan, pointing at Sarah, said, "She is looking for her father and it turned out that her father's case is related to the case of Mary's disappearance."

The old man replied: You look young, which means that you probably don't know anything about her case, but that's okay... I'm Mary's grandfather and I moved here with my granddaughter after the gangs raided our previous house.

Mark asked: Did Mary live here?

Nod: her twin sister. By then my granddaughter Mary had already disappeared, and I had to do everything to protect her sister Jane.

Everyone was shocked. Sarah said: Jane is Mary's sister! Are you sure she's not her friend?

He said: Of course! I am sure that they are two sisters, but how do you know her?

She replied: I met her during the previous days... (Then she whispered to Mark saying) Why do you think she lies to us?

Jan continued asking: But why did Mary disappear? Do you know what she got involved in?

He replied: I can't answer, because I don't know the reason myself. Mary was a nice girl who helped everyone and didn't remain silent about the truth. She dreamed of becoming a lawyer who would defend the oppressed, but unfortunately her dream never saw the light.

Then he got up and said, "I'll make you some tea."

He went to the kitchen, and she went up to the hanging pictures, and Mark said, "The fact that they're two sisters means she's hiding something."

The inside of the house is traditional, suitable for a man of his age. She approached the TV as he was putting some pictures on either side of it, she looked at the pictures for a few seconds and then caught her attention a picture in which the old man was standing next to a man, so she took out the picture of the puzzle and after comparing it, she was amazed: Oh Detective! Come see!

He got up and went to her, then she said: Look at these two pictures.

She turned to him and said, "They look exactly alike!" This is Max!

At this moment, the old man entered with a tray of tea in his hand. Jan got up and took the tray from him. Then he said: Come on. And drink some tea.

Mark took the two pictures to the old man, and asked him: Can you tell us who this man is?

He pointed to the picture of the puzzle, saying: This is (Dan) my son-in-law and his daughter Mary ... (Then he pointed to the other picture): And this is me with (Art) his brother.

She said, "Is (Art) Max?"

He sat on the ground and then said: That is why he left us then.

Jan asked him: What do you mean, Grandpa?

He replied: When my daughter got married to his brother (Dan), she died during childbirth, then my son-in-law and the twin moved to live with me, and after a while there was no news of (Art) and I heard that he had immigrated to the United States.

She asked him: Do you know when this was, Grandpa?

He replied: In 2010.

She turned to Mark and said, "It's the same year that my mother married Max!"

Jan advanced: The reason he married your mother was for the sake of American citizenship, so he changed his name.

She said: This explains what Mr. Tan said to me before about my father's fluency in Thai, but why would he come back here if he wanted a new life?

Then she said, "Jane and Mary are twins, but they don't look identical."

He nodded in the affirmative and then said: That's right, identical twins do not give birth to identical twins... (Then he got up, sadly): After that terrible night, she never spoke to me and didn't come to visit. I think she blames me for what happened to her sister, I don't blame her, because I couldn't protect her from them.

Sarah felt sad for him. She approached to console him, but he fell to the ground because of a bullet that hit him in the middle of his head, his blood splattered all over her face. Jan got up quickly and Mark pulled Sarah away from the window and they stood out of the shooter's range and Jan checked the situation. She was standing right behind Mark, still shocked, she turned to the left, then looked away and grabbed his shirt.

He felt her fist trembling, turned to find her frightened, burying her face in his back and crying, he turned to the left and found the old man's body on the ground with his eyes wide open.

Jan returned to them, saying: It was shot at close range, most likely it was who was watching us all the time.

Mark: Let's get out of here and call the police.

Sarah sat in the police car still in shock, while the two investigators were talking with the investigator responsible and presenting their statements, then they returned to the motel.

In the evening, Mark knocked on her room door: Sarah We're going to eat dinner Do you want to come with us?

He knocked on the door again when he didn't hear the answer, but she opened it saying: Let me change my clothes first.

He nodded, then said, "Okay, we'll wait for you here."

It was only minutes until she came out and joined them and then they went to a restaurant to have dinner. While they were eating, Mark felt that she was behaving strangely, and she is still shocked by what she saw this afternoon, he wanted to ask her, but she said. If Miss Jane was Mary's sister, why did Mr. Tan lie to us, saying that Mary was his granddaughter's friend? And why didn't Miss Jane tell us the truth?

She sighed: Grandpa said he lived with Jane, but she left him and went to live with Mr. Tan. We're missing something.

The silence was interrupted by the sound of successive messages emanating from her bag, it was astonishing, saying: I received a call on that phone again!

Mark: You mean the wiretapping phone?

She nodded at the affirmative, then Jan asked: What's the matter? What's the story of the wiretapping phone?

He replied: It is a secret phone that her mother stashed in a safe in a bank and apparently copied the phone that her husband Max had.

Jan said: You mean that everything he receives on his phone gets it on this phone!?

He smiled: Exactly. We might be able to find out his location. May I see the phone?

She gave him the phone, and he found that the call was from an unknown number. He looked at them and then listened to the caller and the receiver.

The caller said, "There is a new process for you to do, but beware, the situation is tense."

Receiver: "Aright, don't worry, sir, things are under control."

The call ended, and Jan asked him: What did they talk about?

He replied: There is a new operation, and they must be careful, that's all.

She said: The call was useless.

He smiled, saying: Who said it was useless, I heard respirators and pressure gauges.

She said: Hospital!

Jan was thinking: "New operation."" Be careful." I don't think it's a hospital, there are many visitors, so their affairs will be exposed.

Mark: Correct answer! Most likely it's a nursing home. We can ask Zhao for help to find the answer.

She got up excitedly: What are we waiting for then! Let's go to that station... (She turned around to get out and was surprised, saying): It's already night!

He got up behind her, and Jan said, "I'm going to pay the bill."

Mark approaches: It's okay, we can go tomorrow... Are you alright?

She nodded: Yes, I think, my brain still repeats the scene repeatedly.

He patted her back, saying: It's okay. I'm here to listen whenever you want.

In the middle of the night, while everyone was sleeping, Jan couldn't sleep because of Mark's loud snoring, he lay asleep on his back looking at the ceiling and thinking. Until he heard a loud crash, Mark woke up saying: What's the matter!? What happened?!

Jan got up and went outside, saying, "It seems that something hit the ground."

He opened the door and looked left and right, but the corridor was empty. Then he said: Strange, the sound seemed close.

Mark: Close?

They stared at each other and then said: (Sarah)!
