Tyler's pov
This wasn't supposed to happen. This was supposed to be over with. Darren was supposed to be dead, not living across the street from my house. My kids house.
I put my stuff up in our old room then sat on the bed. I hated this. I was done with the worry. This wasn't how any of this was supposed to go.
"Hey you can't stress yourself out. Your carrying precious cargo." Jace whispered bending down in front of me.
"Kinda hard not to, giving the circumstances." I whispered back, wiping my face.
He chuckled slightly and nodded. "Just try thinking positive. Everything will work out in the end it always does."
I shook my head. "Doesn't help the worry or fear of losing anyone. Doesn't help the fact that no matter what we do where we go we will always be in danger." I sniffed and laid back on the bed. Carson and Jaces touch and voice or even their presence always use to calm me down but right now nothing worked. Nothing could get me past this mood I was in. I didn't like it but I couldn't help it.
"Lets go get you something to eat. The doctor wants to look at the baby and make sure everything is going okay and to see if their is more then one."
I nodded then wiped my face. I sighed and walked to the bathroom. I grabbed a towel and softlyed wiped my face off with some water. After I was done I grabbed my binder that I had hidden in my back pack. I put some sweats and one of Carson's shirts on. I followed Jace down the stairs after he kissed me on the head then walked into the kitchen and sat down at the table. The kids we're sitting there doing homework. David and Carson we're here also. Carson was making dinner and David was doing what looked like paperwork.
"How do you know it is him?" David asked, look up from his paperwork and straight at me.
"I don't but nothing adds up." I said, putting the binder on the table. "I started getting these about a year later I thought that they had gotten lost in the mail and we're just now getting to me but now that all of this has started I don't think it is the case anymore." I grabbed some papers out of the binder and handed them to Jace before laying my head on the table. "I haven't opened them because I honestly didn't care. I wanted all of it put behind us."
They each read one. Carson was getting more pissed off with each letter he read. Jace's face you couldn't read and David's was etched with stress. We had all thought this was over and done with. Now I have my kids in the middle of it.
"This is definitely Darren. His hand writing the way he talks everything points to Darren." Carson said, after reading the last letter.
"Well that still doesn't mean the guy across the street is him."
"Problem is he knows everyone here so we can't just go over there and talk to him."
"He doesn't know Charlie." I said, lifting my head up. "Charlie came here after the fight."
"He's right. But if he has been keeping tabs on everything he would know who he is and we could put him in danger." Dave said, standing up. "But it's worth a shot." He called Charlie down here. Soon Charlie appeared in the door way.
"We need you to do us a favor." Carson said, sitting down next to us. "Do you still have the picture of Darren?" He asked, looking at me.
I nodded and grabbed it out of my binder.
"God do you just have everything in there." Jace said, chuckling.
"Everything that had to do with that year yes besides the books because they wouldn't fit."
Carson chuckled then handed Charlie the picture. "The house across the street from ours I need to you go there acting like you are selling something. Tell me if the person that answers the door is him."
"I looked into who owns the house and if it is him he didn't use his real name. He listed under a Steve. So if the person at the door isn't him ask for Steve."
"Don't tell us through mind link either. He's a wolf so he's going to think something is up if you do. We want to keep him out of the loop."
He nodded then looked down at the picture. "I actually know him."
"Wait how."
"He comes to that small diner on 14th all the time. His son also goes to the same school Sara, Michael, and Dave go to." He grabbed the kids year book from last year and showed us all a picture of his son.
"His sons name is Kegan. I can't remember what his dad's name was but it definitely not Darren."
"Which means he's using a fake name. Well we still want to make sure he is the guy across the street. If he is then we are going to have a hell of a war on our hands."
"I was just thinking, if we don't want him to get suspicious we need to act like we are living in the house and going places. We leave every morning at the exact same time to go to school." Sara said, looking up from her book.
"She's got a point but I'm sure you guys aren't going to want to have to wake up extra early just to drive all the way over there to make it look like you are leaving for school." David said, looking at the three of them.
"Hell no." Dave said, waving a finger in the air.
We all laughed.
"Alright lets just all eat some dinner and finish this convo tomorrow. With it being as late as it is no one is going to be coming to the door so we can do this tomorrow." Jace said, walking over to the stove and turning off the spaghetti that Carson had made for everyone. We all sat around and ate. We had a good night just acting like a normal family. It felt nice but I knew tomorrow was going to get a lot more serious.
