Chapter 24: She came in Disguise

€ MORNING

€ CORRIDOR

I come out of the chamber and pulled the veil down over my face I start walking making my way towards my chamber. A smile graced my lips when I thought about the war. The war continuous for months or sometimes years, he will be away from me.

Ohh the peace I get just by thinking about this.

I giggled and walked with a slight bounce on my feet when I heard hushed voices and I halt. I blinked trying to focus on the voices. I move closer to the jali wall and look inside it and saw shadow of two men.

" It's time the Sultan is ready to leave the empire as soon as he left we start executing our plan"

" You think it will be this easy?"

" Ofcourse it was not him who spend the time here in Palace it was us. He had already killed my elder brother and most of officials aren't happy that he became Sultan and he married the Princess of another religion"

Ohh so they are planning against Sultan.

" They are already on our side once he left for the war we will make sure he gets killed in the battlefield and then I will be crowned as Sultan "

I stood there still. Conspiracy against the king is not something new but the problem here is, the plan is foolproof and it involves me.

If he dies I have to perform jauhar.

A shiver run through my body when the loud sound of instrument came. I pushed myself from the wall and walked towards the balcony I place my hands on the stone railing and look down at the crowd. The soldier were ready for the war wearing armour and weapons in their arms. Loud yells wishing the victory of the king and there he is in the middle on horse gripping sword in one hand and a grin gracing his lips.

He eyes scan through the crowd and suddenly it fell on me and my heart beat rise in that moment when our gazes met. Slowly his grin become more huge and I avert my gaze biting down on my lip. I move back my anklets bells made sound and I turned and walked to my chamber without looking back.

The sudden sound of metal plate hit the wooden table snatched me out of my thoughts I look in front and saw the maid looking at me apologetically. She place the plate down and move back and stood there keeping her gaze down.

I move forward and grab the spoon filling it up. I'm not peace since I overheard their conversation my thoughts are all over the place and I'm not able to come on a conclusion.

The sane part of me wants to inform him tell him everything and stop their plan from succeeding but another part me which wanted revenge stopping me from doing anything. I want to see him helpless when his position, his empire snatched from him.

I gaze at the ceiling while laying on the bed.

They are planning to kill him because that person can't become the King if the King is still alive. Whatever is happening I'm not doing it then it will no backstabbing right? I close my eyes.

But your mother didn't taught you this Princess.

My eyes flew open and the flashes of the consequences start coming in front of me.

" Begum Sultan he, he got martyrdom " the Maid informed me and I don't know how to react on this when she said something which snatched the ground from under my feet.

" The new Sultan wants you to visit him. He asked your presence in his chamber "

I'm married to him going to some other man is far even thinking about some other man is sin. I can't fight against him and now only way is remain which is....

Jauhar.

“ Nahi ”

" Noo " I sat up immediately, there is sweat beads on my temple my heart beat were quite fast.

I took deep breaths and press my hand against my heart to calm down. I can't sit here wait for everything happen. I need to do something I need to inform him.

I wish I can inform him by sending him a letter but I don't know how much people are with that person and if they get to know I know about there plan then it will be dangerous for me. I fisted the sheets in my hands.

I open my fist and get down from the bed and walk towards the trunk. I undo the latch and open it, it made a sound and I take out the black outfit and look down at it.

I have sneak out of Palace so many times that it become easy for me. I jerk the reign making the horse run more faster it was already evening the sun is set I need to reach to the them before night happen.

The light has start to get dim and dark hues start covering the sky turning it dark blue and slowly the dark blue turned into black and night happened. I saw small lights from far away and smile come on my face.

Finally.

I halt the horse distance from the tents and climb down from and start walking cautiously towards the tents. I have to meet him without catching unwanted attention. I roam my gaze around and saw many soldiers some were sitting around the bonfire  and some were patrolling.

Where is his tent?

My gaze fell on the tent which was large is comparison to others and more guards stood outside it. This must be his tent but the problem is how will I sneak inside. I walk cautiously taking care my footsteps doesn't make sound and reached behind that tent. I take out my dagger and cut the stripes of fabric which form the window. I jump inside and fell on the ground.

Ouch, placing my hand on my arm rubbing it I stood up and move inside there is many curtains in the tent. I walk ahead and I saw the bed and covered by the canopy. I smiled and made my way towards it and grabbing the canopy I pulled it aside and my smile fell when I saw the bed empty.

Where is he?

" Umm" a hand clasp on my mouth and other around my belly and cage me in his grip. I grip his arm digging my nails in it trying to come out of his grip.

I push his arm with my all strength and rotate he snatched the cloth which were around my face and my hair get opened twirl around me. My eyes widened seeing hik standing in front of me before I can react he snaked his arm around my waist and pulled me flush against him.

“ Chorni...humse dur nahi reh pati na aap”

" Thief.... can't able to stay away from me " he smirk his green orbs glinting in low light.

“ Apni saza bhul gayi hai kya aap?”

" Did you forget your punishment? " He grin moving closer to me and I shook my head and put my hands on his chest to move his away from me.

“ Hum yahan...”

" I came here..." I cut off by him.

“ Yeh saza aap kabhi nahi bulengi nahi kabhi humari baat taalne ki himakat karengi”

" You will not forget this punishment ever again and will never dare to go against my word" suddenly his tone shifted to strict.

I still get suprised how fastly his mood changes one second he is playful and another second he is full of rage.

I was pushed back my back collide with the wooden pillar and he grabbed my both hands and tied it to the pillar.

I glance back then look at him with wide eyes while he smirk and took steps back.

" You are looking nice like this"

“ Yeh aap kya kar rahe hai kholiye hume”

" What are you doing untie me" I tried to pull my hands.

" I didn't come here after escaping palace and by mistake I came here. I deliberately came here because I wanted to meet you"

" Really?"

He place his hand above my head on the pillar and lean close to me. I close my eyes and move my face to side. I feel his warm breath fanning on my cheek.

“ Yaad toh hum bhi apko behad kar rahe the”

" I was also missing you so much"

I feel light touch on my cheek but it was enough for me to tremble.

“ Ab aapke bina ek lamha...”

" Now even a second without you..."

I don't want to listen his useless talks thats why I turned towards him.

“ Aap hume galat samaj rahe hai”

"You are taking me wrong" I shook my head "  I came here to share something important. There is conspiracy going against you to kill in this war and become the Sultan"

I felt nice after telling him as if weight lifted from my shoulders.

I stare at him he lifted a brow in response but didn't say anything my eyebrows frown at his response.

" Say something.."

" I don't know you will put your life in danger and came here and lie on my face so I back down from the war and Suryaveer will be safe"

My eyes widened and mouth open in shock.

How pointless he thinks!

Are you mad. I was going to say this but refrain myself.

I shook my head.

" No you're getting it wrong I really heard two persons talking when I existed the chamber"

He took steps back his gaze turned sharp.

" Really? Then who are these people?" He asked seriously.

" I don't know who are they"

" You don't know there names then tell me about there appearence. Height, features so I can identify them"

" I don't know about all this I saw there silhouette" I said frustratingly trying to pull the hands from the cloth.

I look up at him and saw anger in his green orbs.

" No.. believe me I'm telling truth. They are conspiring against one of them wanted to become King. Sultan! " I called him loudly when he turned his back to me " listen to me."

He halt and slowly turned towards me the sound of small particles of stone come when his shoe make contact with the ground.

" You really think I will believe you. Isn't it you also came here to kill me. You should be happy if something like this is going to happen because you will get rid of me"

“ Hum aapse pehle bhi keh chuke hai, Hum samne se vaar karte hai humne pith piche vaar karna nahi sikha”

" I have already told you. I attack from front not free behind" I held my chin up " and about King Suryaveer he is one of our clan and in our clan we don't run away from war. I don't need to save him from you infact you need safety from him."

He clenched his jaw and stalk over to me grabbing my neck he bumped my head against the pillar. My head hurt by his moment I clenched my teeth tightly absorbing the pain.

“ Kya kaha aapne?”

" What did you said?"

“ Dubara Dohoraiye ”

" Say again" he grip on my neck tighten cutting my air supply and my mouth opened in gasp.

“ Hu- m Hume jo b-hi kaha sa-tya kaha ”

" I said truth"

He left my neck and I inhale by my mouth closing my eyes. I open my eyes and look up at him he is looking pissed. I open my mouth....

" Mmm mmm" he wrap the cloth around my mouth.

" Now stay like this whole night"

He said and left me while I shook my head.

He sat on the edge of the bed putting his  ankle on his knee and lean back a little keeping his gaze on me. I tried to pull the cloth and tried to speak but only sounds coming out of my mouth.

I shook my head and tried to speak but cloth is blocking my voice. He shifted back on the bed and lay down closing his eyes.

Did he really slept after tieing me?

" Mmmm mmm" I tried to make a sound to disturb his sleep but nothing happened.

I felt my legs start paining and my eyelids felt heavier I slide down and sat on the ground closing my eyes I lean my head against the pillar.

€ MORNING

I flutter open my eyes and immediately sat up straight and look around. The tent was empty.

Where is he?

Did he went to war?

I try to focus on sounds outside but there is no sound outside as well. This means everyone went to war. I clenched my teeth and pull my hands with so much force. My wrists hurt but I didn't stop and fell forward when the cloth got untied.

I immediately stood on my feet looking down at the condition of my wrist it has turned blue and purple caressing them a little I made my way out of tent and saw there is no one.

I need to find Sultan.

I cover my face and walk to my horse.
