There were even a few phone calls between the text messages.
She did not answer any of them.
She had a feeling that Daniel might want to ask some questions that she was not willing to answer.

âRuth, whatâs wrong?â Jada walked over and softly asked.
Ruth raised her head and looked at her mother.
Four years ago, her mother had worked down to the bone to save her. She looked much older than other rich ladies her age. Her mother had only started to dress up and slowly look the way a rich lady should look after she completely recovered.

Ruth stood up and tidied up her clothes and hair. âMom, Iâm going out to meet a friend.â Jada took a look at the time. âItâs so late now. Why are you meeting a friend at this time? Is it a guy or a girl?â

She drove all the way to the address given by Daniel.
It was a fiveâstar hotel. After she parked her car, she walked in fearlessly. She entered the elevator and went to the presidential suite on the top floor.

The voice was deep and gentle.
Ruth took a deep breath and pushed the door open.
Instantly, she saw the man sitting on the couch. He bent down slightly as he set up some teacups. The aroma of the tea calmed her impatient heart for some reason.
âMs. Willis, please come and have a cup of tea.â Ruth slowly walked inside. âYou donât seem to be surprised that Iâm here.â
âIt doesnât matter if youâre here or not, Iâll still drink the tea.â Danielâs voice sounded very indifferent.
But it shocked Ruth.
She had gleaned another meaning from his words.
He seemed to say that even if she did not come today, he would still find out what he wanted using other methods.
She looked down slightly and sat down across from Daniel.
The tea was just normal Earl Grey tea. The tea leaves floated on the surface, and the aroma of the tea filled her nose.
Daniel held a small and delicate teacup as he softly asked, âThe traffic was heavy when you traveled over from the Willis familyâs mansion, right?â
Ruth pursed her lips. âItâs past the peak hour when people clock off, so itâs fine. Youâre looking for me because you have something to discuss, right? Letâs talk.â
The two of them never said anything outright, but the atmosphere between them suddenly changed.
In the beginning, Daniel had given her some presents to show his friendliness.
After that, she kept going after him. She did not know how they ended up like thi
