As Harold hesitated, Melody watched as his expression changed, trying to guess what he was thinking about.
âGive her half a month.â Melody said, âHal, weâll fix a time. Itâs best if weâre able to resolve this matter in half a month. Or else, weâll tell George. What do you think?â
He pondered for a moment before saying between his gritted teeth, âOkay, thatâs set!â
Melody breathed a sigh of relief.
She then sent all the information about Everett to Harold. The more he read, the darker his expression became.
When he reached the end and found out what happened to Paul, he frowned.
âI know Paul harassed Grapie, and I taught the Whittle family a lesson. I thought it was over, but turns out, Everett resolved this matter privately from his own end. What he did to Paul was relentless and ruthless.
âI donât sympathize with Paul, but what Everett did to him and how he threatened the Whittle family caught me off guard. Even so, I have severe doubts about this.
âHe was able to find Paul in the house besieged by the shareholders, beat him into a pulp, and throw him into an ungoverned place, while the Whittle family knew about it all along. Not only did he tell them to not call for help, he even asked them to keep it a secret.
âI must not underestimate this man.
âIâm sure Everett has a hold over the Whittle family. It mustâve been important enough to make them give up their own son just so they can protect it from getting exposed.
âThe Craig family and Winters family have similar family backgrounds. Although itâs a small matter to resolve matters with a lowerâranking family like the Whittle family, even the Winters family canât always guarantee that they can end the Whittle family for good in such a short time and make Paul pay such a price.
âHeâs a deep thinker.
âWell, if we think of him as an ally, George, Alden, and I will definitely appreciate him. But if we think of him as a rival, weâll feel envious.
âIf we think of him as our future brother-in-law, we will never agree to that idea.
âOur two little princesses in our family will never become victims of a commercial marriage. We want them to live pleasant and happy lives.
âAnd most importantly, a peaceful one.
âWe would rather let Mel and Grapie marry into a less prominent family than marry someone this complicated.
âTheyâre too innocent to control a man like Everett. Theyâre still young and affectionate towards each other. They might be able to get along now, but what will happen if their relationship continues in the long run?
âIf Everett were to change his mind, he would break Ninianâs heart into pieces.
âWith the way he handles matters and the rate that he is maturing, as Ninianâs brothers, we might not be able to help her when the time comes.
âWe will constantly worry about her.â
âGrapie must not be with Everett.â Harold said in a serious tone, âMel, she asked you to help her find a psychologist, didnât she? Go find her one. Let the psychologist persuade her, so she can come back to her senses.â
Melody stayed silent and nodded.
Haroldâs gaze darkened as he narrowed his eyes. âEverett Craig, right? Iâll go meet him.â
