âHow dare he touch Grapie like this right in front of us?!
âAre we nothing to you?â
Aldenâs gaze was cold. He had a strong urge to take Everettâs hand off Ninian.
Everett knew that he had lost his composure. He pursed his lips, let go of Ninianâs hand, and took a step back.
But Ninian held on to him.
She held his hand and gently shook her head, signaling that she was okay.
He did not expect her to fight back in front of her siblings. He looked surprised and was at a loss.
The two of them stared at each other in silence.
The rest of the Winters siblings became restless.
âGrapie, what are you doing?â Harold was the first to exclaim. He approached her and grabbed her.
âLet go! Let go now!â
George pursed his lips and his expression was cold. â Ninian Winters, come here.â
Harold quickly pulled Ninian and made her stand behind George. He stepped forward, standing in between Everett and her.
Duncan, who was standing nearby, had a different reaction from the Wintersâ siblings. Juxtaposed, he was grinning widely with a hint of triumph in his indifferent gaze.
He suppressed his smile and said, âEverett, come back here. Donât scare them like that.â
The Winters siblingsâ expressions darkened when they heard this.
Everett remained silent as she took a glance at Ninian, who was standing behind her brothers, before turning and standing behind Duncan.
âSince weâre all gathered here, why donât we have lunch. later? Itâs my treat! Take it as a token of gratitude for caring about Everett. What do you think?â
He tried his best to set up a chance where Ninian and Everett were able to spend more time together.
He looked at George with a cunning smile.
âAmong the Winters siblings, only Georgeâs authority is as powerful as mine.
âWeâre both the eldest. Weâll be even closer if Ninian and Everett are getting married.â
Duncan was lost in his thoughts. He had even thought about the name of Everett and Ninianâs child after they got married.
On the other hand, the Winters siblings had sour expressions on their faces.
Alden and George looked at each other. George then smiled and said, âThank you for offering, Mr.
Craig. We came here solely to see Everettâs condition. Since heâs fine, we can feel at ease now. We actually still have some important things to do. I hope you donât mind, but weâll have to excuse ourselves for now. Letâs spend more time together next time when we have the chance.â
âOh, is it?â Duncan was stunned. He did not expect them to leave right away.
He had seen the Winters family in action before and thought that they were here to make a punitive expedition against them. It turned out that they did not do any of that at all.
âSo, what is up their sleeves this time?â
Alden did not hide it from them either. He said directly, We need to catch a flight. Both Melody and Ninian are going abroad. They wonât be returning if itâs unnecessary.â
He added the last sentence purposely.
Duncan was stunned when he heard this. Everettâs sharp and indifferent gaze glanced at Ninian.
âSheâs leaving?
((
âWhy?
âIs she forced to leave by her family, or is it because sheâs too traumatized by what happened?â
Everett knew that Ninian would not leave just like this. However, the beast in him was furious, and its malice instinct took over his heart, making his blood boil.
His gaze was cold and dark as he glared at the rest of the Winters family. He was starting to lose control of his emotions.
âIf only theyâre goneâ¦
âIf onlyâ¦â
He suddenly felt a weight on his shoulder.
