Chapter 473 âAddy, Iâm sorryâ¦â
Duke pursed his lips and clenched his teeth tightly.
âI know thereâs no use in me apologizing. But I donât know what else to say other than saying sorryâ¦
âFour years ago, when Dew approached me with Hal and George, she showed me two paternity tests. I believed her because they were from Sea Cityâs most authoritative paternity test agency.â âAddy, I will accept whatever you say, no matter how you scold me. I just want you to know one thingâ¦â Duke looked at Adina in her eyes. âI have never dated Dew, and Iâve never planned to marry her. The baby in her stomach is not mine. I know that for sure.â
When Adina heard how solemn Duke sounded, she gradually calmed down.
âI donât feel like going out tonight anymore. I have been losing control of my emotions all day.
âIâve even questioned him repeatedly. Who am I to do that âI lost my two sons back then. Duke took George and Harold in and raised them. How can I blame him?â
âIâm sorryâ¦â Adina whispered. âI was overwhelmed earlier. I shouldnât be angry with youâ¦â Duke looked at her and said, âNo, you donât have to say sorry. Anyone in the right mind wouldâve been furious. Youâre just letting your feelings outâ¦â
Adina pursed her lips. âDew is a lunatic. We wonât know what sheâs up to next. We must protect our four children. We must not let them get hurt anymoreâ¦â Duke nodded and said softly, âLetâs go home.
The children are waiting.â
After they got in the car, Duke sent a message. He then stepped on the accelerator and left the hospital.
Dew sneered as she stood at the entrance of the hospital and watched the car leave.
âOnce Iâm out of prison in the three years, I will make sure Adina and Duke pay for what they have done to me today!
âI will go after the Winters family until the day I die!â
âThe results are out!â A policewoman walked toward her with a checklist in her hand. She had a dark expression.â Youâve been pregnant for a month and a half.â
Dew was overjoyed.
âIâve been in the detention center for so many days, and Iâve long noticed that Iâm pregnant, but I didnât dare to say it out loud. I waited until the baby in my stomach had stabilized before I dared to approach the hospital for an examination.
âWell, I am pregnant!
âI must have gotten pregnant from the first few nights I slept with Dylan âLuckily, I didnât take that medicine⦠âItâll be great if the baby is Dukeâs, but well, this baby saved my life todayâ¦â âLetâs go back to the detention center,â The policewoman said professionally as she kept the checklist away. âAhh⦠my stomach is hurting againâ¦â Dew curled up on the bed. She looked like she was in pain. âIt hurts⦠It really hurtsâ¦â
The policewoman looked impatient.
âEver since Dew was put in the detention center, she has been incessantly messing around every day.
Now that sheâs pregnant, I can sense that sheâll only mess around even more now.
âIf we were to forcibly bring her back to the detention center, we might need to bring her to the hospital several times a nightâ¦
