âDylan, you cameâ¦â
Dew blinked, and tears streamed down her face.
She grabbed onto the blanket pitifully. âSomeone set me up, and the police put me into the detention center. I wouldnât have called you if I wasnât pregnant. But now that Iâm pregnant with our child, I didnât want the baby to know that her mother is a felon. Dylan, please find a way to get me outâ¦â
Dylan looked at her with a complicated emotion in his gaze. âYou lost weight.â
Dew cried harder. âYes, I did. Iâve lost about six to eight pounds. Iâm afraid the baby wonât get enough nutrition.â
âIâve brought you chicken mornay. Weâll talk after youâre done eating.â Dylan put the bag that he was holding onto the ground. He then pulled out the container of mornay.
He opened the lid, scooped out a small portion of the mornay, and said gently, âTake your time. Donât rush. Iâll be here with you.â
Dew was touched.
âFinally, some warm affection after being put in detention for such a long time.
âIâm truly grateful for the baby in my stomach.â
She ate the mornay and wiped her tears. âDylan, do you think our child will be a girl or a boy? Who do you think the baby will look likeâ¦?â
Dylan lowered his gaze with a frown. He had a dark expression as he fed her like a robot, one mouthful after the other. Soon after, she finished it.
âMy stomach hurtsâ¦â All of a sudden, Dew felt a sharp pain. âIt hurts⦠It feels like something is coming out of meâ¦.â
Dylan looked agitated. âQuick, go and check it in the toilet.
He led her to the toilet. After she closed the door behind her, he instantly took out another bowl of mornay and poured it into the previous container.
Right after he did it, Dew, who was still in the toilet, screamed.
The policewomen , who were standing outside the ward, rushed in. âWhatâs going on?â
Dylan was at loss. âI⦠I donât know. I was feeding her mornay, and she suddenly said that her stomach hurtsâ¦â
The policewoman took a look at the mornay. Her gaze darkened. âThis is tuna mornay. Pregnant women in the first trimester must not eat this. Sheâll have a high risk of miscarriage.â
âI⦠I had no idea!â Dylanâs face turned pale from the shock. âWill she be okay?â
When the two policewomen pushed the toilet door open, they saw Dew had fallen on the floor, with blood all over her pants.
âQuick, call the doctor!â
Dylan snuck out while everyone was in a panic.
He took out the abortion pills from his pocket, opened the lid, and threw all of them in the trash can.
âThese pills work great! Just consume one of them, and the baby is goneâ¦! He took a deep breath and made a call.
He said in a low voice, âItâs done. You better keep your promise.â
âDonât worry. The money will be transferred into your personal account, and itâll always remain a secret.â
Duke hung up the call with a solemn expression.
âIf Dew wants to use the child to get out of the prison, Iâll make sure the baby is gone before he can enter the world. âI might be harsh, and I shouldnât have harmed the innocent baby, but my children are innocent too! âMy children deserve to have both of their parents and live in a happy family of six. But Dew ruined it all!â
