As George spoke, the children walked toward the restroom in an orderly manner.
The moment they got in, George locked the restroom door.
Five minutes later, the four children returned to the dining table. Mdm. Xavier could not help but pamper these good-looking and smart kids. She kept adding food to their plates. When the sky turned dark, dinner finally came to an end.
Just as Adina placed her children into the car, George said, âMommy, after you send us home, you can go and visit Dad in the hospital.â
Melody kept nodding. âYeah, Mommy. I can take good care of myself.â
Harold pouted. âMommy, you can go to the hospital and accompany Dad.â
Alden remained silent for a few seconds before he said, â Mommy, if itâs too late after youâre done accompanying Dad, you donât have to rush back. Iâll take good care of Mel.â
Adina found herself speechless.
Did these kids come to an agreement behind her?
She was very curious about how George convinced Alden.
Alden pursed his lips. âMommy, Dad has to recover quickly so that you can have a perfect engagement party. I donât want you to have any regrets in your life.â
Adinaâs heart instantly melted. âOkay, Iâll send you home first.â
George smiled faintly and secretly gave Melody a high five.
Only Melody sided with him on matchmaking their dad and mom.
Harold wanted their mom to marry their dad, but he would sometimes want to kick dad away too. In short, he was unreliable!
As for Aldenâ¦
George pursed his lips.
Alden was his brother, but he could feel that Alden never treated him and Harold as brothers until today.
Alden managed to accept their dad because of their mom.
George wondered when Alden would truly blend into the Winters family.
Adina only drove to the hospital after she sent the children back to the Winters familyâs mansion and passed them to Mrs. Winters.
By the time she arrived, it was already 7.30 pm.
The sky in Sea City would quickly turn dark during autumn. As night fell, the roadside lamps were switched on. The silence of the night permeated the city even though there was also some hustle and bustle. Adina held a box of porridge as she walked to Dukeâs ward, already familiar with the path.
Two bodyguards were standing on either side of the door. When they saw her approaching , they pushed open the door of the ward.
She instantly saw the bedridden man.
A dim yellow light was on in the ward. When the light illuminated his face, it outlined his sharp features.
However, when she saw the manâs eyes, she thought ⦠there was nothing sharp about him. He clearly looked like a stray dog that had been abandoned by the road. When the thought appeared in Adinaâs mind, she pushed it away. How could she think that Mr. Winters, the CEO, looked like a stray dog?
âYou finally came.â
The manâs low and deep voice was filled with gloom.
Okay, he looked even more like a stray dog now. Adina stroked her nose as she walked in and said, âYou must be hungry now, right? Eat something first.â After Duke made that call, he knew that he had lost.
He had lost completely to the woman in front of him.
Since he was already a loser, why should he still care about his reputation?
The man spread his arms out and shamelessly said, âFeed me.â
