faded away “Really?” Adina frowned. “What did Catherine say to

you?”

The history was too dark to be shared, and Duke did not want it to affect Adina’s emotions.

He smiled and said, “Addy, tell me the truth, are you jealous?”

Adina laughed. “Do I look like someone who easily gets jealous?”

“Why did you ask what Catherine did, then?” Duke joked deliberately, “Just tell me. I will never speak to any woman alone in the future.”

“Hmph!”

Adina turned away.

‘I’m not that possessive.’

She suddenly remembered something. She turned to him and asked, “I’ve always wanted to ask you what’s between you and Earley?” As soon as she said these words, Duke’s expression darkened visibly.

“Addy, never speak of Earley again.” He said in a low voice, “I will never let him harm you or our children anymore. Don’t think much about him.”

Adina felt relieved after she heard what Duke said.

‘I’m not afraid of Earley, I’m just scared that he’s lurking and targeting the children.

‘But with Duke around, I don’t have to be scared.’

After they had their lunch, Adina took the children to try on some clothes. Duke’s injuries had not healed yet, so he could only watch his wife and children leave in the car.

He was feeling sad when Jake called.

“Mr. Winters, bad news. We’ve lost track of him.”

Duke’s gaze was cold. “It’s normal to lose track of him. Of course, he won’t stay in the same place and allow himself to be monitored. Send in more men and find him again!”

After he hung up, he removed the blanket and sat up.

The wedding day is around the corner. I must send Earl away from Sea City on the wedding day. Or else, I won’t be at peace.

The attending doctor came in when he wore his shoes.“ Mr. Winters, why are you up? Your injuries are not healed yet. You can’t leave the hospital.”
