Chapter 837 After finishing their work in the morning, Adina, Serene, and a few colleagues went downstairs for lunch.
Just as Adina walked through the restaurantâs door, she saw Sean and a young woman sitting near the restaurantâs window. The woman was wearing a gorgeous and seductive outfit.
She leaned on Sean as she sat, and her chest was pressed against Seanâs arm. Meanwhile, the man was moving his hand over her waist and hips. If this had not been a public place, Adina would have thought that the two of them would give a live performance.
âLetâs go somewhere else,â she said indifferently.
Before she could turn around, Sean spotted her and immediately came forward. âAddy, please come over and sit. Iâve been waiting for you for a long time.â
When Adina saw his smiling face, she felt extremely uncomfortable. âIâm not free,â she said coldly.
âAddy, arenât you having lunch anyway? Letâs eat together then.â Sean chuckled to make Adina stay.
âIâd like to talk to you about something serious.â
âMs. Daugherty, Seany just wants to invite you for lunch to apologize to you.â The woman also walked over and lowered her voice. âSophia was being unreasonable. She criticized her late aunt in public, so your slap was definitely wellâdeserved.â
Adina felt a little nauseous.
She really did not want to deal with these people, but they insisted on getting in her way, so they could not blame her for speaking rudely.
âIf Sophia is unreasonable, what about you?â Adina asked with disdain. âYouâre only in your early twenties. Why would you want to be a mistress out of everything? Didnât your parents teach you to behave yourself?â
âI⦠Iâ¦â The woman was stunned. When she felt strange gazes from all directions, she felt extremely embarrassed, and she could not say a word.
Seanâs expression did not seem pleased either. âAddy, what are you talking about?â
âMr. Gardner, please donât use Sophia as a stepping stone to seek a connection with me. If I hate Sophia , Iâll deal with her myself. I donât need you. Youâre her husband. If you protect her and love her, perhaps Iâll still befriend you, but nowâ¦â Adina sneered. âI hate men who beat and cheat on their wives the most!â
She uttered those words powerfully, and everyone in the restaurant applauded her. âWell said!â
âSome young girls nowadays are truly shameless. Theyâre always looking to hook up with married men!â âIf such a woman existed a few decades ago, she would have been caned in public!â
Adina pursed her lips.
This was what happened nowadays. No matter what the situation was, as long as it involved a woman, it would only be the womanâs fault.
People rarely reprimanded a man like Sean. She glanced at Sean before she left the restaurant with Serene and her other colleagues.
With everyone staring at him, Sean became completely furious. He gave the woman a backhand slap.
âI shouldnât have listened to you and waited for Adina here. I was humiliated because of you! Get lost!â
The woman covered her face in disbelief. âSean Gardner, you slapped me! Didnât you say youâd treat me well for a lifetime? Iâve been so blind. Why would I be with a man like you?â
Sean looked annoyed. âGet out of my sight. Youâre annoying!â
There were too many women around him, and he would go through a few in a month. This woman had been with him for a little longer, but it had just been half a year.
Unexpectedly, she started getting involved with his career.
If she had not insisted on coming along today, would Adina have insulted him in public?
