Chapter 873 Melody was about to cry. âWill Mommy never like me again?â Alden hugged his sister.
âMommy is not angry. I think she has something to do. Thatâs why she was impatient.â
âThe succession contest to Jones Corporation is important to Mommy,â George said.â Mommy must have a strong reason to move out. Stop making trouble, Harold.â
Harold clenched his fist. He did not want to part with his mother. âI know I made a mistake. Iâll go and apologize to Mommy.â : Alden pursed his lips. âLet Mommy calm down first.â
âYour daddy and mommy are just moving to live near the project site. They arenât leaving for another country. When you miss you miss them, I can take you there any time. Itâs not a big deal.â Mrs. Winters smiled. âHal, donât cry. Youâre making Mel cry as well. Wipe your tears.â
Harold nodded and wiped his tears. Melody also calmed down.
The door of the master bedroom opened. Adina stood at the railing. âDidnât you all agree to help me pack? Why didnât you come up?â Harold ran upstairs. âMommy, you are not angry anymore?â
âWhen did I get angry? I was joking with you all.â Adina smiled. âYour eyes are red. Were you crying?
No crying, baby. You are a big boy now.â
Harold nodded. âI get it! After Mommy and Daddy move out, Iâll protect Mel!â
âOkay. Iâll reward you when I move back here.â
Adina smiled and let the four children into the master bedroom.
Alden sniffed the air and frowned. âWhy do I smell blood?â
George also frowned. âYeah. I can also smell blood.â
Duke put on his blazer. His left arm hung by his side listlessly. It looked strange but the children did not notice it.
He said in a low voice, âThe chef is cleaning the fish for dinner. Maybe the wind carried the smell up to here.â
Adina took out the luggage bag. âGeorgie, help me choose some coats. I want both trench coats and down jackets. Hal, help me organize five or six pairs of high heels. Al, help me pick some dresses I might attend some celebration parties. Mel, help me sort out my make-up, please.â
Adina assigned jobs to the children. Then, she started helping Duke pack his things. âMommy, youâre horrible,â Harold said, âWe help you pack up while you help Daddy pack. Daddy only needs to sit and do nothing Mommy, you still love Daddy the most. Weâre just accidents.â
Duke chuckled. âMaybe you all are indeed an accident, but youâre the most beautiful accident.â
Without them, Duke and Adinaâs life would have been dull.
The sky was dark when they finished packing their luggage. Even though Harold had convinced himself to accept it, he was still sad to part with Adina.
âMommy, canât you move out tomorrow morning instead?â
Adina crouched down and said softly, âThere are still a few people in charge over there waiting for me to go to the meeting, so I have to leave today.â
She looked at George. âYouâre the eldest, so you must help Granny take care of your younger brothers and sister. If something happens, remember to call Daddy.â Alden pursed his lips. âCanât we call you?â
âThere are too many things I need to take care of at Jones Corporation, and I may be in meetings all the time. You can contact Daddy, and Daddy will tell me.â
Adina gave them their instructions and kissed them goodbye. Then, she carried the luggage and left the Winters familyâs mansion with Duke.
