Duke was still furious even after hanging up. “Calm down…” Adina said softly. “You know Earl. He‘ll never let himself get imprisoned for the rest of his life. He probably has been planning his escape the first day he got imprisoned…”

Duke held her icy cold hand and said gently, “Addy, if you hadn’t wanted to talk to Earl, I might not know when I would learn that he‘s missing…” “Duke, now is not the time to blame yourself.” Adina reassured him, “We should think of potential places where he might be hiding.”

Duke had a stern expression. He gritted his teeth and said, “He‘s most probably coming to Sea City.”

Adina clenched her fists tightly and tried to fight against the voice.

A dark figure walked in and drew the curtains. He was as cold as the night.

“Poor girl.” Earl‘s hand stroked Adina‘s lips lightly and wiped the blood away. She tried to evade him but failed. Earl grabbed her chin tightly. “You‘d rather bleed than let me in. Adina, does Duke know that you‘re keeping yourself pure for him?”

Adina‘s gaze was filled with anger. “Earl, just kill me.”

“Kill you? Why should I?” Earl chuckled. “Do you know why I returned to Sea City? Firstly, I‘m here to teach you a lesson. I want you to know the consequences of betraying me. Secondly, it‘s time for Duke and I to put an end to the grudge between us. I want you to kill him for me.”

Adina gritted her teeth “But, no matter what, he‘s my biological younger brother. I don‘t want to kill him just like that.” Earl lowered his head and sniffed Adina‘s neck. “How about this? Make me happy tonight, and I‘ll let Duke live for a few more days. How does that sound?”
