Chapter 907 Mabelâs lips trembled. âEarl, you are twins who share the same blood. Why does it have to be like this?â
âIf you give me Adina, Iâll give up on the other things,â Earl said.
His words shocked Mabel. âEarl, Adina is your sisterâinâlaw!â
Earl sneered. âThen pretend you didnât see me. Go about your business, Iâll be going soon.â
âTo where?â Mabel queried. Her heart was racing in anxiety again. She was afraid that the two brothers would meet again, afraid that they would be caught in another endless battleâ¦
As soon as she finished speaking, there was an urgent screech of a car braking outside the mansion.
Earl chuckled. âAdina is here. Bring her to this room, and donât let the brats suspect anything.â
Mabelâs hands were shaking. âEarl, donât do this ââââ
âIâm fine with not doing it this way. I could also abduct Adina right in front of those brats.â Earl smiled indifferently. âItâs not my problem if I traumatize a few kids.â
âFine, Iâll bring Addy up here.â
Mabel gave a deep sigh before she opened the bedroom door.
When she came downstairs, the children had already noticed Adinaâs approach.
In the past, whenever Adina came home, the children would rush over excitedly.
But earlier at the other mansion, the change in Adina had frightened the children.
Even when they saw with their own eyes that the mommy whom they missed dearly had returned, they did not dare to rush over. Four pairs of eyes watched as Adina got closer and closer.
Adina went inside. She looked around but did not see Earlâs figure.
The heater for the house was quite strong, but she did not take off her down jacket. She stuffed her hands into her jacket pockets, and her gaze fell on the childrenâs faces. âGo back to your rooms. Donât come out if I donât call for you.â
Melody widened her tearâfilled eyes. âMommy, can⦠can I hug you?â
Adina shook her head. âLater.â
She did not know which corner of the mansion that poisonous snake Earl would be watching from, so she could not show even the slightest concern for the children.
She glanced at Alden.
Her son Al had yet to leave the Winters familyâs mansion. He stood quietly in the corner and did not even come to greet her.
Adina pursed her lips. âGeorge, did you not hear me? Bring your siblings upstairs.â âYes, Mommy.â
George looked down. He took hold of Harold and Melodyâs hands and called for Alden. The four children went upstairs.
It was at this moment when Mabel came downstairs.
When she saw Adina, she had a complicated look on her face. âAddy, why are you here?â
Adina stared at her for a while. Then, she suddenly smiled. âThereâs no need to ask such an unnecessary question, Mrs. Winters. Take me to Earl.â
Recently, whenever she looked at Mabelâs face, it would be full of shame and guilt. But this time, she looked diffident and uneasy. Earl could only have gotten into the Winters familyâs mansion at Mabelâs acquiescence. When it came to either Earl or Duke, Mabel would always stand with Earl, because she always felt like she owed it to her eldest son. Thus, Duke deserved to be kicked to the side. The corners of Adinaâs mouth turned up in a sneer. Mabelâs mouth parted, and her face paled. After she took a deep breath, she said, âAddy, this is hard for me too. I really had no choiceââ âI donât want to hear about whatever hardships youâve had, just take me to Earl.â
