Seth's pov:
I had to take a whole day of destruction to calm down meaning I haven't slept for two days but I didn't care, I was pissed that I had no idea my own father was on the island and that he dared doing what he did to Melanie.
I almost blew up again when the girls told me what happened to her but I just slammed my axe in the wall deeply.
"I'm sorry.... if only I knew I'd have gotten there faster" I let Melanie take my bed as I sat on it with her head in my lap.
"it's not your fault" she said quietly as I passed my hand in her hair.
"still.... I wish I could have not let you go, I wish I could have followed you and not lose your trace, I wish I arrived there much earlier"
"you killed him in the end that's all that matters to me" she hugged my around my waist as I let her.
"I would kill him over and over and over if I could.... one day to go and you can leave this place"
"yeah"
"I'm sorry for telling you this but.... I don't wish to leave this place, I grew up here, this is all mine, someone needs to keep this place in check and honestly I wouldn't be able to survive in society"
"I'm sorry" she whispered.
"why?"
"I had lied to you, I was scared of you at the start, I didn't want you to leave this place so I thought I'd make up a lie so you keep us safe and then somehow force you to stay here" I stared at her face and sighed, wiping away the tears and pulling her up for a short kiss.
"a week ago I would have been mad at you, mad that you lied on a deal that was your life line...." I sighed and closed my eyes before opening them again, passing my hand on her cheek as she was now sitting. ".... I won't my heart wouldn't let me, I never thought I'd think of someone like I do with you, I can't believe this happened"
she leaned closer and kissed her again before hugging her against my chest.
Cold as you turn off the lights
And memories start floating around
You're doubting yourself
And you're tired of not being strong
It hurts to be all on your own
But you'll just have to wait
Cause time's running fast
And it calms you to know it won't last
It's easy to say it'll all be okay
But that's always the way it goes
Slow down, slow down, slow down
Slow down, slow down, you'll be okay
Torn and lost once again
You start to believe it won't end
And still, you're alone
With the fear that you're forever unknown
You cannot understand
Why you're always the one that gets hurt
And life is unfair but it pulls you back in
When you're almost gone
It's easy to say it'll all be okay
But that's always the way it goes
Slow down, slow down, slow down
Slow down, slow down, you'll be okay
Oh, slow down, slow down, slow down
Oh, slow down, slow down, slow down
Oh, slow down, slow down, and you'll be okay
It's easy to say it'll all be okay
But that's always the way it goes
Slow down, slow down, slow down
Slow down, slow down, you'll be okay
You'll be okay, you'll be okay, you'll be okay
You'll be okay, you'll be okay
And you'll be okay
Melanie's pov:
nightmares filled my night and day..... well these nightmares are actually called memories.
I felt safe in her arms, knowing she'll do what she can to keep me safe.
her voice was calming as she sang something for once seeming to have not attachment to her past or craziness..... just something that can like this.
"I wish I was as strong as you"
"you are" she said. "you are, you lived, I don't know if I could have made it through the labyrinth of crazy thoughts crushing me in my mind if I didn't know you were alive"
You fascinated me cloaked in shadows and secrecy
The beauty of a broken angel
I ventured carefully afraid of what you though I'd be
But pretty soon I was entangled
You take me by the hand, I question who I am
Teach me how to fight, I'll show you how to win
You're my mortal flaw and I'm your fatal sin
Let me feel the sting, the pain, the burn under my skin
Put me to the test, I'll prove that I am strong
Won't let myself believe that what we feel is wrong
I finally see what you knew was inside me all along
That behind this soft exterior, lies a warrior
My memory refused to separate the lies from truth
And search the past my mind created
I kept on pushing through standing resolute which you
In equal measure loved and hated
You take me by the hand, I'm seeing who I am
Teach me how to fight, I'll show you how to win
You're my mortal flaw and I'm your fatal sin
Let me feel the sting, the pain, the burn under my skin
Put me to the test, I'll prove that I am strong
Won't let myself believe that what we feel is wrong
I finally see what you knew was inside me all along
That behind this soft exterior, lies a warrior
Lies a warrior
You take me by the hand, I'm sure of who I am
Teach me how to fight, I'll show you how to win
You're my mortal flaw and I'm your fatal sin
Let me feel the sting, the pain, the burn under my skin
Put me to the test, I'll prove that I am strong
Won't let myself believe that what we feel is wrong
I finally see what you knew was inside me all along
That behind this soft exterior, lies a warrior
The pictures come to life, wake in the dead of night
Open my eyes, I must be dreaming
Clutch me pillow tight, brace myself for the fight
I've heard that seeing is believing
I smiled to myself while listening, sitting close to her, side to side as I lay my head on her shoulder, closing my eyes..... soon the day we will leave on will arrive..... soon we'll leave this place..... soon we'll be safe....
