It has been a pretty busy but chill week. I had a lot of clients getting their last minute Christmas sets. Then, I had to get ready for our trip to Manhattan that we are leaving for this morning.
It was currently 6 in the morning and Amari wanted to leave at 8 which probably wouldn't happen because Imani always took forever and she wasn't a morning person but hopefully Vanessa had her in check.
Amari was on his way here right now. He couldn't stay over last night because he had "stuff to handle" before we left for the weekend. I got up from my bed and went to the bathroom to brush my teeth and wash my face before packing up everything I needed from my bathroom.
Before I continued packing, I FaceTimed Imani to make sure she would be ready by 8. She answered on the 5th ring. "Hello." She said with a groggy voice.
"Good morning. Why aren't you up? You know you take forever." I said with a smile on my face.
"I was gonna get up when Vanessa got here and for your information, I packed last night so I just have to get dressed before I am ready." She sat up in her bed, leaning on her headboard.
"Oh really? Surprising. I guess I should leave you alone and finish packing so I'll be ready too."
"Yeah do that. But uhm, let me know when you're on the way so I can make sure I have everything."
"Ok. See you in a bit. Love you." I said before hanging up and going back to packing.
It takes me a surprising long time to pack for some unknown reason. I packed 4 outfits even though we would only be gone for 2 days but I wanted to have dinner outfits as well. Then I packed pajamas and underwear. I packed my moisturizers and my perfumes in a smaller bag that I could stick on one half of my suitcase and it would be separated from the rest of my clothes. I put some shoes in there that went with my outfits and I was done packing.
I checked my list of things to pack to make sure I packed everything I needed before zipping up my suitcase.
The moment I finished doing that, I heard a knock on my door. I knew it was Amari and I went to go open the door for him.
"Good morning, bubbaa." I said excitedly because I was excited to go on this little trip especially with him. I jumped in his arms and he caught me. I wrapped my kegs around his waist.
"Good morning, mami. You seem excited." He said laughing lightly and fully walking into the apartment while he still carried me, closing and locking the door behind us.
"I am." I said and pecked his lips multiple times before wiggling out of his arms so that he would let me go and walked to my bedroom.
He followed me. "Can you please take my suitcase out to your truck, my love?"
"Suitcase? Why do you have a suitcase for a weekend trip?" He said but he still grabbed it from off of my bed.
"Because it's big enough to hold all my stuff. What did you bring?"
"A duffle bag and a backpack." he said and started walking out of my room with my suitcase.
"Hm. Well I'm going to get dressed while you go do that. Thank you by the way." I raised my voice as he continued to walk away so that he could hear me.
I heard him exit the apartment and I started getting dressed. I wanted to wear something cute, comfy, and warm. I assumed that we would do a bit of walking around in Times Square because I wanted to do some shopping and we would probably arrive at our hotel in Manhattan at around 9 so we would have practically the whole day to do stuff.
I know it got really cold in New York so I was not going to let myself freeze.
Amari came back in my room in the middle of me getting dressed. he came up to me and wrapped his arms around me and started kissing my neck.
"Baby, we gotta go soon. We don't have time for this."
"Yes we do. We can leave a little late." He said into my neck in between kisses. He started sucking on my neck and I automatically moved my head up to give him more access to my neck.
I let out a soft moan and he sucked a bit harder.
"Okay, okay. We can continue this later. We have almost three days just to ourselves." I said and kind of forced myself to back away from the embrace he had on me.
He groaned and rolled his eyes. "Fine."
"Time to go." I said and checked everything before grabbing my phone and turning everything off before going to walk out of the apartment with him following me.
Once we got to the truck, I sent Imani a message to let her know that we were on the way. We took the truck so that we would have more room for everyone since Imani and Vanessa were riding with us.
I had a blanket with me as well because even though the ride wasn't that long, I still wanted to be comfortable and it was over 30 minutes.
Amari had his hand laid on my thigh and I fiddled with his fingers as we drive to Mani's place.
I called her to tell her we had arrived once we got there and she said she would be out soon.
I turned to face Amari. "Thank you so much for this, bubba."
"Of course, baby. Anything for you." He said and brought my hand up to his lips and kissed my knuckles.
About 10 minutes later, Imani finally came out with Vanessa following her and they both had a suitcase so maybe it's a girl thing.
"Look they both have suitcases too." I said to Amari referring to when he was teasing me earlier about having one.
"Good thing I have enough space for them." He mumbled before getting out of the car and helping them put their stuff in the trunk.
I waited for them to finish up and get in the car. I greeted them and then put my AirPods in so that I could watch a movie in peace on my Ipad. I put on SharkTale and went about my business.
Amari's hand made its way back to my thigh and I held it while I watched my movie.

We made it to our hotel at 9:08. I closed my iPad and started folding up my blanket as we looked for a parking spot.
After parking and getting our bags and suitcases from out of the trunk, we made our way into the hotel. It was fancy as fuck. I could already tell from the outside but sometimes the exterior is misleading. This must have cost a fortune which made me regret letting Amari set everything up and letting him pay for it all himself. Not just him and I but Imani and Vanessa's room as well. Â While Amari was checking in, I started talking to Vanessa and Mani about what they wanted to do today since we had the whole day ahead of us.
"I wanted to go to Times Square and do some shopping and walking around and then we could come back and get ready for dinner. I don't know where yet but I want to go somewhere nice. What do you think of that?"
"That sounds good to me. You know I love to go shopping. Are you good with that, baby?" Imani said and pointed her question towards Vanessa.
Vanessa nodded her head with a smile on her face. She looked at Imani in a specific way that every girl wanted to be looked at. It was cute. It was like she was happy if Imani was happy.
"So will you guys be ready to go at ten?"
"Yeah." They said as Amari made his way back over to us and handed us our keys.
We agreed to meet up in the lobby and then went our separate ways.
When Amari and I got to our room and I stepped in, I was frozen. There were roses on the bed and the room was gigantic, bigger than any other hotel room I have ever been in.
"Amari, it's beautiful." I said and had tears in my eyes. I didn't know why but it was a really grand gesture and it was really beautiful.
He came up to me and raised his hand to my face to gently wipe the fallen tears off of my cheeks. "Baby, why are you crying?"
"You didn't have to do this. It's a lot and you spent so much money on all of this. It's too much."
"No, it's not enough for the woman I love." He placed a kiss on my lips and I returned the kiss but pulled away shortly after because I had tears rolling down my face and my nose was starting to get runny. I didn't want to get all that shit on him.
"I love you so much." I said with a smile on my face. "Now let me clean my face up." I said and walked into the bathroom which was humongous as well.
"Why is everything so damn big?"
I heard a laugh coming from the main room.
After I came out the bathroom, I told Amari that I was hungry and he ordered room service. Just something small because we were most likely going to eat while we were out. There's tons of street food in Times Square and I was super excited to try it in the next 2-3 days.
He ordered something small because I only wanted a snack. We got some fruit and yogurt.
We ate and then cuddled and talked for a while until the time came for us to meet Vanessa and Imani in the lobby 10 floors down.

hi everyone!!!! thanks for reading! I'll probably have another chapter out tn but if not, it'll be out tmr bc I don't have school again. yayyy! don't be afraid to leave some suggestions of what you wanna see. I'll probably make this book 30 chapters and then I have ideas for another book.
