CHAPTER TEN
The glittering lights of the WWE Tinsel Ball were dazzling, casting a warm glow that seemed to wrap around the entire ballroom. It was a night unlike any other, where wrestlers, managers, and their guests came together to celebrate the holiday season in style.
The air was buzzing with excitement, laughter, and the soft hum of festive music playing from the grand orchestra at the far end of the room.
Blossom stood near the entrance, her silver, figure-hugging gown shimmering with every movement she made. The asymmetrical neckline of the dress caught the light, accentuating her collarbone and the curves of her body. The chunky strap on the right side was bold and unexpected, while the thin, flat strap on the left added an element of elegance.
She took a deep breath, her fingers clutching the delicate clutch she had chosen for the evening. It was surreal to be here, surrounded by such extravagance and the kind of glittering crowd that only events like these could draw.
"You look stunning," Trinity said, her voice full of excitement as she adjusted the wavy locks of Blossom's hair.
The red dress she wore sparkled under the lights, its fitted bodice and flowing skirt making her look like a vision of holiday cheer. Jon, standing beside her in a sharp red suit, gave Blossom an encouraging smile and a thumbs-up.
"Girl, Thank God I got that dress and everything for you," Trinity said, beaming with pride. "I knew you'd make an entrance tonight."
Blossom chuckled nervously, the butterflies in her stomach fluttering harder than ever. "I still can't believe you went through all this trouble for me."
Trinity's smile softened, and she stepped closer, her eyes shining with understanding. "I've known you've had feelings for Joe for years, Blossom. That's why I had you stay with him over the holidays. I wanted you both to realize what was right in front of you."
Blossom's eyes widened, her heart skipping a beat. Trinity's revelation took her by surprise, and for a moment, the music and the chatter around her faded away. "What? I mean... you knew?" she stammered, trying to process what Trinity had just confessed.
Jon's expression was playful yet sincere. "We all did, Blossom. And it's time you both figured it out. Joe's been through enough, and you've been strong for Bloom. It's time to be strong for yourself, too."
"Have y'all seen Joe?" She asked as she turned, scanning the room for him, her heart beating faster as she spotted the sea of people that surrounded them.
"Girl, there he is!" Trinity said, grabbing her arm and nudging her forward.
Blossom's eyes followed the direction Trinity was pointing, and there he wasâJoe, looking dapper in a deep velvet suit that hugged his broad shoulders and trim waist. The rich, dark color made his eyes sparkle even more, and his confident stride spoke of his easy charisma.
Blossom felt her breath catch in her throat, her palms sweating as she took a step forward. Joe was laughing with a group of people, but the moment he spotted her, his smile widened, and he made a beeline in her direction. The noise of the party seemed to fade, leaving just the two of them in their little bubble.
"Hey," Joe said, his deep voice soft and full of emotion as he stopped in front of her. His eyes scanned her face, and for a second, he looked as if he might say something profound. But then he simply smiled, reaching out to gently touch her cheek.
"Hey," Blossom whispered, a shy smile spreading across her face.
He pulled her to the side, away from the crowd, his expression turning serious. "Listen, I need to apologize," Joe said, his voice low. "I know I surprised you the other night, and I shouldn't have rushed things. I just... I need you to know that I meant every word I said."
Blossom looked up at him, the sincerity in his eyes making her heart swell. "Joe, I was just scared," she admitted, her voice barely audible. "I was afraid of what this all meant, of opening up again after everything."
He took her hands in his, his touch warm and grounding. "I understand, Blossom. I'm not going anywhere. I'll be here, no matter what. And I'm not just talking about me and you. I mean, I want to be here for Bloom too. I want to be her father."
A tear escaped down Blossom's cheek, and she couldn't help but smile as it mixed with the laughter that bubbled up from her throat. "You mean that?" she asked, her voice trembling with a mix of hope and disbelief.
"I do," Joe said, pulling her into an embrace that felt like home.
The warmth of his body pressed against her, and the smell of his cologneâa mix of cedar and muskâfilled her senses. The sound of music and laughter came back to her as Joe leaned back slightly, tilting her chin up so their eyes met. Without another word, he kissed her, tender and slow, a kiss that spoke of promises, of second chances, and of love found in the most unexpected of places.
The room erupted into cheers as the couple broke apart. Blossom felt a flush creep up her neck as she laughed, her heart swelling with emotions she didn't know she had. "Well, that was unexpected," she whispered, looking up at Joe, who was grinning ear to ear.
"Unexpected, but not unwelcome," he replied, taking her hand and leading her back into the crowd. The music played louder, the energy of the ball enveloping them as they joined Trinity, Jon, and the rest of the group.
"Look at you two," Trinity said, her eyes sparkling with mischief and joy. "I knew it would happen. I told you, Jon. I told you."
Jon laughed, pulling his wife close. "You did, babe. You really did."
They mingled with friends and family, exchanging stories and sharing smiles. Joe introduced Blossom to some of his closest colleagues, including Paul Heyman, who greeted her with a booming laugh and a handshake that made her feel both small and significant at the same time.
Blossom found herself laughing and talking like she never had before. The weight of the past and her fears seemed lighter as if Joe's presence alone was enough to make everything feel possible.
When the music changed to a slower tune, Joe pulled her close, guiding her onto the dance floor. Blossom's eyes sparkled as she looked up at him, and at that moment, she realized that everything she had been afraid of was worth it.
As the song played on, Joe spun her around and pulled her into his arms, his hands resting lightly on her waist. She felt the warmth of his touch and the strength of his embrace. He leaned in, whispering in her ear. "This is only the beginning, Blossom. We're just getting started."
She laughed, tears prickling at the corners of her eyes as she took a deep breath. "I hope so, Joe. I really do."
Trinity and Jon watched from the sidelines, their smiles radiant as they saw their friends finally finding their way. Jon held Bloom in his arms, the baby's eyes wide with innocence and wonder as she watched her mother dance. Trinity's eyes met Jon's, and they shared a silent moment of gratitude.
Joe and Blossom danced until their feet ached, the night turning into a blur of laughter, music, and love. The party continued to buzz around them, but at that moment, in Joe's arms with the glittering lights above them and the sound of their laughter mingling with the holiday music, Blossom felt like she had finally found her place. It wasn't just the ball, the dress, or even the dancing. It was the feeling that, for once, she could let her guard down and trust that she was exactly where she was meant to be.
And as they danced, Joe whispered words that made her heart soar. "Merry Christmas, Blossom. This is the best one yet."
And with that, she knew he was right. It was the start of something new, a future she was finally ready to embrace.
