"The magic is only in what books say, how they stitched the patches of the universe together into one garment for us."

information & A/N
Hey guys! Although I'm sure many of you won't be reading it (though, if you do, I really appreciate it), I just wanted to put this here: The Golden Dragon's Hoard is not like my other books for a couple of reasons.
First, it's not really a romance, though there are partners involved into the plotline in the story. There isn't a romance that is the key element to this or to the main character. I know that in the past, that's really all my books tend to have as a focal pointâthe character's relationship and the life they have sort of revolving around that.
This is not like that and will have a bit of a different feel compared to my other books, especially if all you have read from me is Bar Red's Redemption.
However! That is not to say that this story isn't worth reading or isn't as important as my romance books, which is honestly why I'm kind of writing this and putting it on here in the first place.
Too oftenâespecially on Wattpad and other young women and youth orientated mediaâthe most important aspect of a person's life is depicted as the romantic ones, on the relationship that they have with a singular other individual. Not only that, but that the relationship is forever and that there can only be that one true romance. It's not a bad thing if people like reading this, but I worry about what it says to younger individuals who don't consume any other types of media. I worry about the influence that romance should be the priority has on someone's mindset.
Which is why the Golden Dragon's Hoard wont be like this.
This book is centered around finding a chosen family, around setting and maintaining boundaries. It involves healing from a traumatizing past in a healthy way and learning to properly communicate with those in one's family dynamic.
Also! I wanted to explore other types of relationships, both platonic and familial, and be more inclusive with identities and sexualities, too. Far too long have I been writing heteronormative couples.
In this, there is a queer platonic relationship between two important charactersâthough you have yet to meet them, their names are Erasmus and Athanasius (yes, this book has a lot of names from the Greek pantheon)âand this will be important and depicted throughout the story. (For those who don't know, a QPR is an intimate committed relationship that is not romantic or sexual in nature. It's a deep, platonic connection between two individuals that want to spend their life together. Any questions, please ask and do so respectively!)
To be clear, there will be queer platonic relationships, LGBTQ+ characters and relationshipsâincluding an asexual and-or aromatic characters, nonbinary, and other non-cis characters.
I have done a lot of research, and have my own in real life experience, so I think I can write about these topics well. Please, don't be afraid to correct me or DM me if you have questions, concerns, etc!
As for the structure of the book itself, I already have most of it done! It will be divided into two parts (which is why, in the content list, you see the general description and then the first story part description) that has a bit of a time break between it.
Chapters will be done in the usual fashion, though I have been exploring my writing style a bit and have a few more breaks in between each dialogue-heavy scene.
Lastly, for the story, I simply wanted to world build :))
I really like magic and fantastical creatures, which I think you guys can tell by the fact that the main character is a dragon shifter, lol. There's witches, magic, familiars, and a whole lot of new things that since most of my books before this have been non-fantasy haven't really touched on.
Anyways, thank you for those who read this! I know it's not going to be my usual book, but I swear it's still good! Found family, fluff, and a whooooole lot of healing should be enjoyable to read!
Love you guys, I hope you have a good day!
