This was it.

My doomsday.

I stared down at the Math test like it had grown another head and laid alien eggs.

I was going to fail because I had done no studying.

Not that I studied much anyway. My father had been right. The moment I started focusing on my relationship side of my life, my education dropped dramatically. It was like life was telling you to be smart or in love.

I had spent my entire night staring out the window of my bedroom. It was also the reason why I was dead tired. Pencil noises surrounded me as everyone tried to get epic marks from a teacher that was most likely to fail us all anyway.

I couldn't help but think about my parents marriage. It was obvious they weren't going to get better and a part of me wanted to tell them to live apart for the sake of keeping whatever relationship they did have, alive.

The cause was probably me. I knew I was an unwanted child and that they've done the best they could with me, but I was old enough to take care of myself now. I just needed to apply for a job, save up some money and move out.

It wasn't going to be easy because life never is but I just needed to stay focused on my goals. Which led me back to the thought of my father being right about boys distracting me from my main goal. Getting out of the house.

James was a distraction. A nice distraction at that but still. My whole plan to take down Caitlyn was pretty much null and void now, because I had both Chase and James trying to help.

I hadn't wanted their help in the first place, so I've given up on the idea of taking down Queen B.

Now, she was just going to repeatedly treat people like me and others who are less unfortunate to cross her path like shit. Could I do something about it? Yes but did I have a plan? Not anymore.

The math test stared at me, like a laughing pity Caitlyn. I already knew I was going to fail so I scribbled nonsense onto the paper.

Nonsense. The word that pretty much summed up my life right now.

Just a bunch of nonsense.

When the papers were all picked up and I was given a disappointing look from my teacher, the bell went and I stood up, grabbing my bag.

Suddenly, two very small girls blocked my way. Looking up, I raised an eyebrow. "Can I help you?" I asked, confused.

"Depends, we need information," one of the girls replied.

"I'm Christie, and I'm fine thanks, what information?" I asked sarcastically.

"We're in James's friend group, is it true you guys are dating?" The other girl gushed.

I opened my mouth to speak but the first girl spoke again. "Because we totally get it, James is hot as hell even his brother is hot but like we're friends with him and we know what he's like, he may be into you now but trust me it fades pretty fast," the girl said, looking at her friend who nodded.

"What are you talking about" I asked, confused.

"I mean, he's talking shit about Caitlyn cheating on him when he did exactly the same thing to her with Jenna during a party, dude is a good friend but he's a total player," the second said cheerfully.

I frowned. "By the way, we're Sienna and Kylie," they introduced themselves.

"He cheated on Caitlyn?" I asked surprised.

Kylie and Sienna looked at each other. "Hey don't get a bad idea of James, he's a good guy but kinda lame with relationships we don't mean to hurt your feelings, we just wanted to give you a heads up so you don't deep and get your heart broken," Sienna said quickly.

"Thanks, I guess?" I said, my mind going a million miles an hour.

"Girls have to stick together, because men are idiots," Kylie said, shrugging her shoulder.

They gave me a wave goodbye before walking out of the class.

Had James cheated on Caitlyn? I mean, I suppose getting no attention from her and no real love might make one do that.

But once a cheater, always a cheater.

I wasn't going to full take the word of these two girls. I was going straight to the source, but in another world, I wasn't exactly sure how to bring it up.

"Hey James, while you were in a relationship with Caitlyn, did you happen to cheat on her with a girl named Jenna?"

No that didn't seem the right thing to say.

I walked out of my class and to my locker, trying to think if I wanted to bring it up or maybe at home where he couldn't flip out in public.

"Hey," a voice said, from behind me.

Whirling around, Chase stood in the hallway, looking a little awkward. "Hey," I replied relieved it wasn't the other brother.

"Something on your mind?" Chase asked, as I turned back to my locker to put my combinatiom in.

Wait. If James cheated, wouldn't his brother know?

Chase wouldn't lie to me, would he?

"Uh yes and no," I replied, opening my locker.

I changed over my books before closing it with a snap. I turned to face him again.

"If there was something that happened in the past that could affect me, you would tell me, right?" I asked, studying his facial expression.

He frowned. "Of course," he replied, puzzled.

Satisfied, I gestured to him. "What's up?" I asked, reverting the conversation back to why he had been standing in the hallway awkwardly.

"I'm really sorry for this, but it's a dare," Chase replied.

"A dar-" I was about to ask what he meant by dare when he opened his water bottle and tipped it upside down onto my head.

I screamed, jumping back as water sloshed all over my hair, clothes, the books in my hand and down my back. "What the fuck Chase!" I yelled.

He winced and looked over my shoulder. "Are you satisfied?" He asked.

Turning around, I saw Caitlyn leaning in the lockers. "Very," she replied with a wicked glint before sashaying off.

I turned back to Chase. "So what? You're team Caitlyn now?" I asked, horrified.

"God no, James said we needed an inside man but since both you and he are out of the option I needed to do it, turns out I needed to humiliate you to be accepted," Chase replied before looking at the water puddle I was standing in.

"Chase, I'm not trying to take her down anymore, honestly I couldn't care less right now?" I replied.

"What the hell happened?" I heard James's voice up from behind me.

I looked over my shoulder as he walked towards us. "I did as you told me to get inside the Caitlyn Witch circle and it turns out, Christie is backing out," Chase replied, crossing his arms..

"What? Why?" James asked, reaching us.

I sighed. "The why doesn't matter, all that matters is that I've had enough, I'm not going to stoop to her level," I replied, wiping the water off my face.

"But Christie, she treats you like dirt," James replied in confusion.

"Yeah so did you guys before school started again, what's the difference?" I asked, before sighing again.

Chase glanced at his brother. "I mean I knew we weren't friends but I didn't think I treated you like dirt?" Chase mumbled as he looked at me.

"Look, enough, let's just pretend nothing happened and everything can go back to the way things were okay? Just leave me alone," I added, before pushing past them both.

"Christie," I heard James say.

I slowed. "Forget everything, okay?" I asked, over my shoulder.

Taking a deep breath, I kept walking.

A/N

Looks like Christie's had enough. Her plan went downhill and now she's still getting shit from Caitlyn.

Is she right to call it off and just to forget everything that happened?
