Phillip's POV:
Here I am. At the edge of a cliff. Thousands of feet underneath me the raging ocean. I rolled my wheelchair down the rocky path. How did Oizys expect me to do this again? It's not like I can walk...
In my head three voices kept nagging. Each trying to be louder than the others. My head and my joints were hurting so much. I could cry here and now.
I struggled in pushing my wheels over a rock. It took pretty much all the strength I had.
"This is sooo slow." Voice one said.
"Yeah, can't you like, I don't know, put it in gear or something?" The second voice chimed in.
Believe me. If I could I would've already done it.
"Can't we just morph? It would be sooo much easier." The third one said.
Each of them seemed to agree with that last statement. I feared this would happen. Finally my body is a little rested from last time and without a second thought they want to do it again.
I've only been living with them for about two months, yet I'm already paralyzed from the waist down. I'm scared for what is next. The joints on my elbows are starting to hurt quite badly.
If I lose the feeling in my arms, I won't be able to get anywhere anymore.
Uh-oh, there it comes. The icey feeling. It shivers down my spine. Next thing I know I see three old ladies standing there with a wheelchair.
One with a thread between her fingers. The other with some measuring tape and the last with a pair of scissors.
Klotho's POV:
Finally free of a limiting mortal body. Can you imagine having to share that pathetic vessel with your sisters?
I move the thread between my fingers back and forth. At least it gives me something to do.
"Where was this pesky goddess hiding again? I'll cut off her life thread if she doesn't join us." My sister Athropos said, snipping the scissors she holds.
"I bet it's long enough anyway." Lachesis cackled as she held up her messuring tape.
"Oh shut up. It somewhere along the path. Down where the cliffs meet the sea." I tell them.
"You're a smart one aren't you?"
Athropos rolls her eyes.
"Always thinking she knows it better." Lachesis joined in.
My frustration with my sisters had already been big and it only started growing. Next thing you know the thread between my fingers snaps.
"Would you look at that another suicide." Athropos said.
"I didn't even get to messure it." Lachesis grumbled.
"Can we stop arguiging and get this thing over with? I hate the sea and everything that has anything to do with it."
I turn around and continue my way down the path. Meanwhile I drop the pieces of thread. As they fall down they fall apart into small particles of dust. The seabreeze carries them away as I take a new thread from my pouch.
Oizys POV:
"Ah Aphrodite." I say, leaning onto the back of the chair she's sitting in.
"Tell me how are the preparations going?"
"Slow, but we're getting there. The recourses we stole from Zeus and his crew should theoretically be enough to keep us going for another while. We even have extra's after the plan is concluded." She says.
"Excellent. And our list of allies?" I ask.
"Growing each day. Slowly, but steady."
"Good. We will need to stock up on even more recourses. Especially when our dear sisters of fate let us know their mission was a succes."
I can't help a smirk. Everything was going according to plan. It was perfect. They won't even know what hit them.
"Shouldn't we have send someone else? Like Hypnos or Dionysus? It would be way faster. Those three old hags have been gone for days. I'm tired of the waiting." Aphrodite moaned.
I snap my head towards her. Does she dare question my decissions?!
"No, Hypnos is working on keeping the monsters at bay and learning them to work with their mortal bodies. Dionysus is off for another recruitment. Unless you want dirt underneath your pretty nails you sit back and report to me how things are going."
She huffs, but keeps her mouth shut.
"Ask Persephone how the toxins are going and report back as soon as you can. Now off you go!"
I shoo Aphrodite out and take a seat myself. I can't wait to see the Olympians reaction when they finally find out they are on the losing side.
Atropos' POV:
Finally we reach the end of the path. Right next to us the waves crash against the cliffs. As if they hoped they could break them, if only they were strong enough.
We stop in front of a large cave entrance.
"Do you think this is it?" Lachesis asks.
"Do you see another cave around here somewhere idiot?" Kloto asks, smacking her over the head.
I ignore them and start making my way into the cave.
"Hello? Is anyone here?" I call out.
The only thing I hear is the footsteps of my sisters behind me.
"Hey, storm lady? You there?!" Lachisis yells.
Quiet.
Slowly we move a little deeper into the cave. Wait...
Is that a torch light? I gesture my sisters to follow me. I hold up my scissors as a weapon of defense. The light shimmers right around the corner.
At first I didn't hear it, but the closer we get to the torch light the louder the sound of a grinding stone. What on earth is making that noise.
I stop my sisters. We peek around the corner. A lady sits there. Turning a stone plate on a table.
"Depends on who is asking." She says out of the blue.
It takes a moment before I notice she's replying to Lachesis' question.
"Come on out, I know you are Just around the corner."
She doesn't even bother looking up. Just keeps spinning the stone around. It seems important to her.
Each of us rounds the corner and we walk until we're right in front of her and her weird stone thing.
"Now what do the fates of all deities want in my cave?" She asks.
"Oizys wants your help." Kloto starts.
"We need recruits to strengthen our numbers and to take Zeus and his pesky little Olympians." Lachesis continued.
"They still believe mortals to be our equals." I finish.
"Mortals... Our equals huh?" The woman asks.
"Can you believe their stupidity?" Kloto inches closer.
"Join Oizys and help us show these mortals where they really stand." Lachesis joins in.
"Bellow us and showering us with offers and prayers. Just like the old days. What do you say Kymopolea?" I ask.
The goddess stayed quiet and started spinning the stone harder and harder. Outside the wind picked up and the waves crashed harder into the cliffs than ever before.
"I say... Tell Oizys to have a plate ready, because I'm feasting on offerings when this is over."
