You groaned as you dragged your feet to the kitchen. You still had no real idea what happened the night before with the eggnog, but you had some ideas. But you did remember the kiss. And the one after that.
Did you regret it? Not at all. Did you wish things were simpler? Absolutely.
You found your uncle leaning against the counter with a mug of coffee. He was wearing his gear, meaning he would be leaving today for some job. Something that was confirmed when he gave you that same look he always gave you.
Helsing: How'd you sleep, champ?
You just groaned.
Helsing: Good to know.
He set his mug down and walked over to ruffle your hair, much to your annoyance. He just laughed at your pain and grabbed his hat.
Helsing: You'll have to drive Frankie home here in a little bit. They cleared the roads, so once she wakes up eat some breakfast and head out.
You gave him a thumbs up as he placed his hat on his head. He then grabbed his bag and headed for the door.
Helsing: Be safe, and don't do anything stupid.
Y/N: Yeah yeah. Whatever.
He left and you were soon laying on the couch. You used the blanket to stay warm and began to doze off again. You were still so tired. Sleep sounded good.
Frankie: Y/N?
You lifted your head to find Frankie entering the unliving room. She was still wearing a pair fo Draculaura's pajamas and her hair was messy. You sat up as she took a seat next to you. You lifted the blanket as an offering which she took. You both sat there, sharing the warmth, as silence filled the air.
Y/N: How did you sleep?
Frankie: Good, I guess. I got recharged pretty good. You?
Y/N: Good. Good.
This was awkward. You only really had yourself to blame for it too.
Frankie: About last night, when we kissed...
Y/N: I'm really sorry. I know that you probably....
Frankie: I don't want a relationship.
You stopped and looked at her. You blinked before nodding.
Y/N: Okay. Yeah. What?
Frankie sighed and turned to you.
Frankie: I think you're great, I really do. And who knows? Maybe we could be something. But, I'm still new to, well, everything. And I don't stand a chance against the other monsters in your life.
Y/N: Well, I wouldn't say that, but I get where your coming from.
Frankie smiled.
Frankie: But, we need to promise each other that we won't neglect our friendship anymore. Okay?
She held out her hand. You looked at it and smiled before shaking it.
Y/N: Sounds like a plan to me.
Her hand suddenly came off and you looked at it. You pulled it free and placed it back onto her stump. You both laughed. That was a weight off your shoulders. And, you felt much better.
Y/N: Actually, can I ask you a question? As a friend?
Frankie nodded.
Y/N: Between Operetta and Elissabat? Uh, who should I try to date?
Frankie: Well, I can see two options. Two futures, if you will.
Our first story begins with you and Operetta. You laid on the cold stones of the Catacombs under the school. She played a beautiful melody that bounced off the walls while her voice echoed in your head. She was a great musician, there was no doubt about that, but you were more focused on watching her.
You couldn't help it. Her style drove you wild. Was it her hair? You did always love red heads. Maybe it was the way she dressed. She always knew what to wear to leave you wanting more. Maybe it was the way she would get fired up when someone would say something about her music. Maybe it was even the way she would skip class just to hang out down here.
You managed to sneak out of your class to listen to her. Sure, her singing could mess with you, but you were able to withstand it with some of her blood.
Operetta: Sugha, you still with me?
You blinked and realized that the song was over. You looked back to meet her eyes and smiled in a dream like state.
Y/N: Doing just fine, Retta. That was great.
Operetta watched as you laid your head down. She felt bad, believing her music to have gotten you into this trance. She set her guitar down and hopped off of the ledge she was sitting on. She walked over and brushed some hair out of your eye. You opened it and watched her as she ran her fingers through your H/C locks.
You had been dating for a year now. Her music never got old. You loved private moments like this where no one could find you. She leaned down and kissed your head.
Operetta: You seem tired. You've been workin' pretty hard lately. You should get some rest, hun.
You just mumbled and looked up at her with a smile.
Y/N: Nah. I want to hear you play.
Operetta: As much as I enjoy playing for my number 1 fan, you know I don't like you pushing yourself like this.
You knew it was a pointless fight. You finally gave in and sat up.
Y/N: Fine. You mind if I use your studio?
Operetta simply smiled. She took your hand and pulled you along. Before long, you were laying on an old but comfy couch. She laid with you and watched to make sure you fell asleep. Once she was sure you were, she reached up and kissed you.
-----------
Y/N: Really?
Frankie shrugged. She didn't know Operetta as much as you did. But what she did know was enough to come up with an idea.
Y/N: Okay, but what about Elissabat?
Frankie: Oh, that one is easy.
-------------
Our second story begins in a Gothic castle.
A beautiful castle fit for a Queen, and King. These titles were double meaning for the couple that lived here. The Queen of Cinema and Vampires and her beloved King. The same king that was currently watching as a scene came to an end.
Y/N: And cut!
You stood up from your seat and walked over as everything reseted. Honey Swamp walked with you with some notes that she had taken.
Y/N: Thoughts?
Honey: Well, I think it might be better if we switched Camera A with Camera B and move B to get a better close up.
Y/N: We can try it out and see how it works. For now, take 5.
Honey smiled knowingly and went off to tell everyone to get lunch. You approached the Gothic staircase where you nodded to your lead male actor.
Y/N: You're doing great, Joey. Go get some food.
He nodded and read over his lines again as he walked off. You then walked up the staircase to see the star of the film herself. Veronica Van Vamp. Or, Elissabat to you and friends. She wore a beautiful gown with her hair done up in such a style that added to her natural looks.
Y/N: Excuse me, miss. I have some notes.
Elissabat looked over to you and smiled. You reached the top step and embraced her with a kiss. Having been married for three years now, you found it hard not to be pulled towards her. She was your star and you were her director. Your movies together had already become the stuff of legends.
Elissabat: Maybe you should tell them to me in my trailer.
Y/N: It's cute that you think we'd make it that far.
She giggled as you kissed her cheek as if you were still a high-schooler. You were still crazy for each other.
-------------
Y/N: So why am I married to Elissabat and not Operetta?
Frankie: I'm working with what I got here.
That was fair. But, both futures sounded pretty nice. It got you a bit curious.
Y/N: Hey, what about everyone else?
Frankie: What do you mean?
Y/N: Well, what would my future look like with other Ghouls?
Frankie started to think.
----------
You grunted as you tightened the last pipe. You pulled back and watched to make sure it was nice and fixed. Once you were satisfied, you yelled up from the basement.
Y/N: Turn it on!
Clawdeen hurried over to the bathroom and flushed the toilet. You waited until you heard the water flow through. Looks like it was gonna hold after all. You smiled and tossed the wrench into the old toolbox before taking a step back.
Clawdeen: How does it look?
Clawdeen rested her arm on your shoulder and examined the pipes. Looked good.
Y/N: Anything else need to be fixed?
Clawdeen: Not that I know. Come on. Mom is getting started on lunch.
You liked that idea. You picked up the toolbox and followed her upstairs. You found Harriet cooking with Howleen. When they heard you both emerge, Harriet looked over and smiled.
Harriet: Thank you for helping us around the place. I know Clawrk really appreciates it.
Howleen: Yeah, when he's not trying to bite your head off.
Clawdeen: Howleen!
You just laughed. Their dad wasn't your biggest fan, especially now that you and Clawdeen were officially together for the last few months. When Harriet and Clawdeen invites you along to the Bed and Breakfast, Clawrk wasn't happy. Still, you had been helping around.
You felt your sleeve get tugged which made you look to your lover. She motioned for you to follow.
Clawdeen: We'll be upstairs.
Harriet just hummed. Clawdeen held your hand and you both headed upstairs. You reached the room she was using as her own which had gotten a huge makeover. Before you even fully entered the room, she turned and gave you a quick kiss.
She then yanked you inside.
You both sat on the bed where you started talking about the weird gossip around school and what your plans were for summer break. It was still a bit away, but you were hoping you would be able to hang out with everyone. Maybe even go on a trip.
Clawdeen: You know, it's just us four here until dinner. And lunch won't be ready for a while.
You smirked.
Y/N: So....
You were quickly interuptted when she prounched onto you, locking your lips with hers.
--------------
Y/N: Really? I mean, I guess her dad wouldn't like me. Would I even get past her brothers?
Frankie laughed.
Frankie: Not a chance.
Y/N: Okay okay. Who's next?
---------------
You watched the waves as they gracefully hit the sand. The sun was close to setting and you were done with all of your work. You could just hang out at the beautiful beach home behind you, but you wanted to be here for when Lagoona got back.
You smiled when you watched your ghoulfriend of many years emerging from the water. Her hair was a bit longer than when you were younger. Not only that, but seeing her in her natural habitat made you appreciate her beauty even more.
Lagoona: Well, this is the kind of welcoming I like.
She smiled as you pulled her into a kiss. You wrapped an arm around her shoulder while hers rested around you waist, her hand slipping into the back pocket of your pants.
Y/N: So, what should we do for dinner?
Lagoona: We could make some crab. How about som scallops?
Y/N: I got that steak too.
Lagoona: Ooooh. You really know how to spoil me.
You just kissed her head, immediately spitting out the salt water. Lagoona laughed at you as you entered the home you both shared. It still felt weird having a place with someone. Especially when you woke up next to her every day.
Her parents seemed to like you and they especially liked that you could visit them whenever Lagoona did. You just needed a bit of her blood and you were able to breathe underwater.
Y/N: You know, I'm free all day tomorrow. You wanna go surfing?
Lagoona: Sounds aces.
----------
Y/N: I learn how to surf?
Frankie: I'm assuming Lagoona would teach you.
Y/N: Yeah, that checks out. Who's left?
Frankie: Oh. Well...
---------
Draculaura: Hey, Y/N!
---------
Y/N: Nope.
Frankie: Fair enough. There are a few others.
Y/N: Like who?
Frankie: Abbey, Ghoulia, Cleo......
Y/N: Abbey and I would never date, Ghoulia doesn't even seem interested in me romantically, and Cleo has Deuce. Say what you will about them, but they're probably the most likely to stay together.
Frankie: Yeah, I guess you have a point. Well, that's everyone I can think of, then.
You thought about it and just smiled. Yeah, they all sounded nice, but you suddenly weren't so eager to try and find out who you should be dating. Why bother rushing it?
You looked to the window and let out a sigh.
Y/N: Well, I guess I should be getting you home now.
Frankie didn't really want to leave, but she would have to if she wanted to keep spending the holidays with you. Still, this was definitely fun.
Frankie: Alright. Let me get dressed.
