You could only stare. There was nothing you could do. It was as if you could feel history repeating itself. The destruction of the place you called home.
Monster High was being burned to the ground.
And you could do nothing about it.
Monster
High
12 Hours Prior
You sat on your bed and thought about the situation you were in. None of this made any sense. How could Hellscream move against Monster High like this? Why? He hit Clawdeen with a dart and nearly took your hand. Then, he made sure you couldn't go against him by fabricating a lie believed by everyone.
Deuce suddenly hopped down from the top bunk and stretched. Another day awake was another day of school. That was until he noticed your blank stare.
Deuce: What's up, dude?
You looked up and hid your woes with a smile.
Y/N: Just woke up way too early.
Deuce: Really? Figured things with Elissabat just didn't go well.
Elissabat? You suddenly remembered that you haven't spoken to her since Monster High was vandalized. When she asked if you wanted to be a couple. You suddenly got to your feet and hurried out of the room, confusing Deuce. Though the monsters walking by didn't mind the sight of your shirtless roommate.
You hurried to the girls' side of the dorms and reached Elissabat's room, only to find Operetta leaving. She was surpised to find you wearing the same clothes you had the day before as well as a bandage wrapped around your hand. You looked like you had just gotten into a fight.
Operetta: Jeez, you look rough. You alright, hun?
You stopped and looked down at your appearance. You brushed it off.
Y/N: Yeah. Uh, is Elissabat here?
Operetta shook her head.
Operetta: I haven't seen her since yesterday. I reckoned she went to Drac's. Maybe you should ask Draculaura?
You sighed. More people you needed to talk to. Why couldn't it just be one problem at a time?
You quickly left and decided to worry about this later. You needed to check in on Clawdeen first. Make sure she was doing well. And after that, you needed to find out how to deal with Hellscream.
Operetta could barley say anything as you hurried down the hall. You decided to bail on class today. It wasn't like you really needed to be here anyway. If Hellscream was really a threat to the school, then he was the priority. You managed to get outside before running into Frankie and Cleo. They both turned to talk to you, but you quickly ducked into your car.
The girls watched as you drove off without explanation.
Cleo: What was that about? What happened to his hand?
Frankie shrugged. She had no idea what happened. But they were soon interuptted by a visitor.
Hellscream: Excuse me, ladies. But I'm looking for the headmistress' office.

You reached the Wolf's home and knocked on the door. You waited for a moment before the door opened to reveal Harriet. She looked exhausted, which was understandable. But when she saw you she smiled a bit.
Harriet: Hey, kiddo. How are you feeling?
She was asking about you? She truly had a kind soul. You gave a tired smile which told her her answer.
Y/N: How is she?
Harriet sighed and moved to let you into the house. You stepped inside and noticed how clean it was. She must've been trying to distract herself.
Harriet: She's in her room.
You nodded and headed down the hall. You reached Clawdeen's door and knocked. You heard a muffled voice but couldn't quite hear what she was saying. You took a risk and opened the door anyway.
You found Clawdeen sitting on her bed, sewing on a skirt. She looked up when she heard you enter. You closed the door behind you and walked over to the bed.
Y/N: Hey. You feeling okay?
Clawdeen just gave a shrug. She went back to sewing.
Clawdeen: I just wish we could do something.
Y/N: I'll make sure he gets what's coming to him. I just need some time to figure it out.
Clawdeen stopped sewing and dropped her hands before looking up at you.
Clawdeen: Don't do that.
You looked at her oddly. She didn't want you to go after Hellscream?
Y/N: What?
Clawdeen: That thing you always do when something goes wrong. You always take it on yourself to fix things. You aren't alone, you know.
You looked at her for a moment before looking away. She had a point. You didn't need to face this alone, but you also didn't want anyone else to get hurt. You had the power to stop Hellscream. At least, you think so.
You've beaten Stroker. You've beaten Ms. Flap. But, you did lose against the Monster Hunter Association. You were ganged up on, but you were still beaten. Granted, you weren't a Blood Fend yet. Would that even matter? Hellscream was a hunter on par with your uncle, maybe even more. But if Hellscream was out for blood like he was yesterday, then he would have a trick or two up his sleeve.
Y/N: Hopefully Drac and Helsing will help.
Clawdeen frowned. It was clear to anyone that the two of you weren't the closest in the group. You didn't hate each other or anything, but you were just two very different people. Still, you were still friends. She didn't like seeing you like this. You weren't a serious person. You just weren't. You were a dork with a big heart.
But that big heart was bleeding now and she saw nothing but fire in your eyes. She didn't like it.
It scared her.

Helsing filled out some forms regarding the school's budget. He was focusing on his work rather than dwelling on Hellscream and his actions. If he did, he would act irrationally. He needed time.
Time that he wouldn't get.
Hellscream: From monster hunter to headmaster.
Helsing looked up to see his fellow hunter touching a glass ball. Hellscream looked over to the shorter man and smiled. He chuckled to himself before he walked over and took a seat across from your uncle.
Hellscream: This is quite an office.
Helsing: It's temporary. What brings you to our school.
Hellscream folded his hands on his knee as he looked around. He then looked back to Helsing.
Hellscream: Well, you see, I'm sure you're aware of my break-in yesterday.
Helsing sighed.
Helsing: You mean you inviting my nephew and his friend into your house so you could attack them?
Hellscream smiled.
Hellscream: So you are. Good. That makes things easier.
His smile remained while his voice grew deep. Helsing noticed the wooden handle sticking out from his coat.
Hellscream: Your "nephew" needs to go. You and I know well that Monster and Humans cannot be allowed to coexist. The Great Scare was evidence of that.
Helsing: The Great Scare was caused by people who mistrusted trust itself.
Hellscream: It was caused by those who saw the truth. That monster will always just be that. Monsters.
Helsing leaned forward, resting his hands on his desk.
Helsing: Seems like we disagree.
Hellscream: So it would seem. I suppose that also means you won't just give me Y/N.
Helsing sighed. He looked down at his hands and thought back to the past. When he found you laying on the forest floor. You had no memory if where you came from or even who you were.
Vincent was alone for most of his life. His father was a bastard and his mother was less than desirable. He was an only child and he wasn't a very well liked one. His first fight was when he was 6. He ended up with a broken nose. The first taste of blood.
He ran away from home at 12. He had no place to go, but he ran and never looked back. That was when he met Trevor Helsing. The man who became his mentor, his father. He learned to fight. To hunt. To survive. He was 16 when he joined the Monster Hunter Association. The youngest in their long history.
He never got along with the other hunters. He kept to himself and did what he needed to do. That was until he met Dracula. The two became friends quickly. They both understood their places in the world and they stayed out of each other's way. At least, until they fell for each other.
It all happened so fast for him. Vincent knew that he was happy, but it scared him. So he left. Still, he didn't understand why he stopped when he saw you. He should've dropped you off at the closest town, let someone else deal with you, but he didn't.
You became what he once was to Helsing. A mentor. An uncle. And, against his own will, a father of sorts. Even now, he wasn't alone. Everything he's done was for you.
And so, he sat up and narrowed his eyes at the large man.
Helsing: We both know how this will end. So stop wasting my time and get it over with.
Hellscream sighed. He then pulled out the crossbow from his coat and immediately fired it into Helsing's chest. Your uncle fell back into his chair limply. The stake went straight through his heart, leaving no room for survival.
Hellscream stared at his body for a moment before he stood up, dusting himself off. He then turned and left the room.
Once he was gone, Dracula stepped out from the shadows, holding a phone with the video still recording. He stopped it and looked at your uncle.
Dracula: Now isn't the time for a nap, Vincent.
Your uncle remained still, until he groaned and sat up. He reached for the stake and pulled it free from his chest. The blood poured from the wound but Helsing seemed more annoyed than in pain. Dracula walked over and ran a finger across his chest, eyeing the blood.
Helsing: You got all that?
Dracula: Every second. We got lucky that Frankie let us know he was here.
Helsing sighed. He stood up before stretching a bit. So much so that his eyes closed and be let out a groan.
Helsing: Well, I suppose that just leaves one last thing.
When his eyes opened, they were no longer the way many knew them to be. His irises were now golden and his eye was pitch black.
Helsing: Time to bring that bastard down.
