You drove through the streets of New Salem without much of an idea of where you would be going. You've been trying to come up with a plan to stop Hellscream since you left Clawdeen's. The sun was now starting to set and you have officially skipped a day of school. You didn't feel too good about it, but the situation called for your full attention.
That was until you noticed smoke in the distance. You didn't think much of it, until you realized it was coming from the direction of the school. Your eyes grew wide as you gripped the wheel and hit the gas. You sped through the streets with no care for your own safety.
You hit the brakes when you reached the front of the school, immediately leaping out of the vehicle and running towards Monster High.
You could only stare. There was nothing you could do. It was as if you could feel history repeating itself. The destruction of the place you called home.
Monster High was being burned to the ground.
And you could do nothing about it.
Lagoona: Y/N! You made it!
You looked over to see your friends gathered on one of the picnic tables. They seem to be....happy? Almost like they were celebrating something. You were confused before you took another look.
Monster High wasn't on fire, Hellscream merchandise was. A bonfire made to destroy all products associated with the famous Monster Hunter. Your friends signaled for you to join them which you did.
Y/N: What is this?
Deuce, who had his arm around Cleo and was drinking a smoothie, smiled.
Deuce: Dude, Hellscream got whipped.
You looked at him oddly before Venus showed you her phone. You watched the video to see Hellscream shooting your uncle with his crossbow. You were shocked before you read the article.
Y/N: "Vincent Helsing was rushed to the hospital after a violent interaction with famed Monster Hunter Abraham Hellscream. The video shows Hellscream attacking Helsing after confirming that the break-in on his home was staged."
You slowly looked up and began to smile. You knew this wouldn't be the end of Hellscream's war on you and your family, but it was definitely a massive blow to his plans. Your friends were happy to see an invisible weight lift off your shoulders.
It felt like you could breathe again.
Monster
High
You scrolled through your phone with one hand while you other was petting Cerberus who was sitting on your lap. You were reading the many articles about Hellscream and the repercussions of his actions. Legal action will be taken and his position with the Monster Hunter Association was in grave danger.
Hehe. Get it? Grave danger?
To kinda celebrate this victory, in which you had no real hand in but who cares, Dracula and Helsing decided to make some dinner. Draculaura and Elissabat were helping with setting the table but Elissabat kept taking glances your way.
Draculaura had been watching her for a while and finally let out a groan, setting her forks down on the table. She placed her fists on her hips.
Draculaura: Just go talk to him already.
Elissabat snapped out of her daze and looked at her friend. Before she could deny her suggestion, Draculaura turned your way.
Draculaura: Y/N, Elissabat wants to talk to you.
You looked up to find the two looking at you. You looked at the pink one then the purple one.
Y/N: What's up?
Elissabat shot her friend a look which she ignored. She then turned back to you.
Elissabat: Can we go to your room?
You nodded and lifted Cerberus off of your lap, setting him down on the couch where he immediately went back to sleep. You got up and followed Elissabat to your room where you would have a bit more privacy.
She played with her fingers for a moment while you leaned against your wall. She finally turned back to you.
Elissabat: We never finished our conversation the other day.
You suddenly remembered that you had hurried off after Monster High got vandalized. But you remembered the question.
Y/N: No, we didn't. Sorry.
Elissabat: It's okay. I get it. But, I would like to get back to it.
Of course. You never gave her an answer. She finally fully faced you and placed her hands to her sides.
Elissabat: So, I'll ask again. Do you want to...go out with me?
Hearing those words once again sent a shiver up your spine. Almost like she was whispering a spell. But this was her just being her. Being sincere. And it was now your turn. You smiled as the moonlight shined through your window, illuminating you both.
Y/N: Yeah. Let's give it a go.
And just like that, you were now......
Wait.
Something wasn't right.
You flinched a bit which confused Elissabat. You lifted your hand and held your head as a throbbing headache began to sting. You winced and stumbled backwards which worried Elissabat.
Elissabat: Y/N?
You suddenly fell over and began to twitch. Elissabat immediately called for Dracula and Helsing as you tried to regain control over your body.
???: Hello, child.
Helsing and Dracula rushed in as Elissabat moved away to give them space to try and help you.
???: I don't have time for such silly little games. I have some important matters to attend to.
Helsing checked your pulse to find that it was going haywire while Dracula noticed your eyes. How green they seemed.
???: You all really did ruin my perfect kingdom.
Dracula: Y/N.
???: No need for the formalities, Darling. You can call me by my true name.
Dracula: Y/N!
???: My true name. Jadis.
You suddenly sat up, a chill sweeping across the room as your eyes grew wide.
Y/N: Jadis.
While everyone else found themselves absolutely confused by what was happening, Dracula's face fell into that of despair. You slowly turned to him with a look of fear. Your breath visible as you sat there.
Y/N: Who is Jadis?
Everyone looked to the Vampire who found himself back in the past. Back when he had made a mistake that now was back to haunt him.
Dracula: Jadis....Jadis is your mother.

You sat on the couch as everyone waited for Dracula to speak. He knew it was time to tell you the truth. He didn't understand why this was happening now, but that didnât matter. It was happening and you needed some kind of help.
Finally, he took a deep breath.
Dracula: When we spoke, back when you helped with Clawdeen's party, I told you that you would always feel like you don't belong. And that's because you don't.
Draculaura: Dad....
Dracula: You're not from this world. I told you before, you're from my land.
You lifted your head and looked at him.
Dracula: That land isn't here on this world. It's from a place where magic is real. Where Fairy Tales and stories exist. Your father himself was from a world separated from even that one. One closer to ours, but with no monsters.
You were confused. What was he talking about? Three worlds? Was that really possible?
Dracula: I was a student at a school known as Ever After High. I went there with your father. A brave, kind man named Oscar.
Oscar? There was that name again. Such a common name seemed to have such unbelievable weight.
Dracula: He went by another name. Oz. We were roommates.
Y/N: And my mother?
Dracula lowered his head.
Dracula: We were on a quest. One that your father had undertaken. And that lead us to this.....this place. This evil place where an even greater evil was kept prisoner. And we released her.
He then looked right into your eyes.
Dracula: That was your mother. Jadis.
You just shook your head. You let out a breath to find that you could no longer see it. Your eyes also returned to normal.
Y/N: Well, I guess we'll deal with her when we get to it.
Everyone seemed surpised by your answer. You stood up and stretched.
Y/N: But, for now, we have some delicious dinner to enjoy. We got school tomorrow anyway, so let's enjoy just chilling for once.
You looked at everyone in the room and smiled. Clawdeen was right, you weren't alone. And maybe you weren't from this world. Who cares? You were here and you were among family.
Helsing rolled his eyes and got up, ready to serve food. Everyone soon followed suit. If you weren't that bothered by it, then why should they?
You didn't care about Jadis. Not yet, at least. You'll cross that bridge when you got to it.
Besides, you were sure you could put it off for a while.
Today felt like a day of clarity and you found yourself ready for the next step.
A new beginning.

Heyo! Lexi here. So this is actually the end of this story. Yeah. Book 1 of Monster High is done.
I didn't want to keep hitting this with chapters, so we'll be picking things up with Book 2 when it comes out.
