A-bby's POV

————————

A-li got frustrated and broke the pencil she was holding. I softly pat her shoulder to calm her down before crouching slightly and rotating the handle of this so called pencil sharpener.

"Look! The utensil is functional again."

A-li, A-spen, and I walked over to A-lan who was standing over by Zed and his friend.

"Hey, aliens. You are ruining my chances to get into Mountain College." Zed said

"Oh! I do not like this conflict." A-li commented

"Cannot wait to leave this discord."

"Yeah, okay, so then why don't you just go back to your own planet?" Zed said, rudely

"Because it was destroyed. We...don't have a home." I said, I've never really felt sadness before but I don't like the feeling.

A-lan comforted you, noticing your sadness by wrapping his arm around your shoulders, while A-li angrily gestured toward me while glaring at Zed.

"I—I'm so sorry. I'm sorry. I really am. As tough as things have been for zombies, we've always had Zombietown. Is there anything I can do?" Zed asked

I looked up at him in shock, hearing his words.

"You would help us?" A-spen asked

At lunch, A-lan, A-li, A-spen, and I all sat at a table together, Zed was just standing at our table talking to us.

"With our Luma Lenses, we proved all the minds in Seabrook." A-li told him

"Mind probes? Why would you do that?"

"Uh, to learn about cheer, obviously cheer." We all said together

"Okay, but what about people's privacy? I mean, you can just scan people's—" Zed cut himself off when he saw my Luma Lens.

"Hey, what is that?" He asked me

"Oh, your biology teachers brain scan." I answered

"Is that my test? A D+? Oh, that is—ouch." Zed groaned.

"I could beat that easily." A-lan said

"You were unfairly marked. Your answers correctly highlight the purpose of brains for zombies."

"Your teacher does not understand zombie culture."

I swiped my hand over the lens and changed his grade to a B-.

"There, that's the grade you should have gotten." I said with a smile.

"Yes! Just like that? Thank you." Zed thanked, hugging my shoulders in excitement.

For a moment I thought I saw A-lan's eyes narrow, almost like a he was glaring at Zed, but I chose to ignore it.

"So there is something you can do for us." A-spen told him before showing him a picture on their Luma Lens. "This image appears in many scans. What is it?"

"That is the moonstone. It is the most precious thing in Seabrook. It's the life force for werewolves." Zed answered

"Instromomo." We all muttered

"But stay away from it, because the werewolves won't let any outsiders near the moonstone." Zed warned

"You are so caring." A-spen said as they hugged Zed.

"Zed, we shall reward your help by improving your application." A-lan told him

"It's not rocket science, but knowing rocket science won't hurt."

"What does that expression mean?" I asked

"It means that the universe has sent me and intergalactic alien dream team to help get this zombie into collage!" Zed said as he put his hand up for a high five.

A-lan, confused, put three fingers up slowly. Zed just grabbed them awkwardly, putting A-lan's hand back down.

A-lan's POV

(So instead of A-spen going to talk to Addison it's going to be A-lan so we can get the boat sailing.)

I stood behind Addison as I waiting for her to turn around. She turned around and yelled in surprise at my presence.

"Fear. I recognize that emotion." I chuckled. "Oh, great leader of cheer, I need your help."

"Yeah, of course."

"I have a feeling I cannot define. My palms are sweaty, and it feels like space moths are in my stomach. And then earlier, during lunch I felt like there was a small pain in my chest when I saw her expressing joy with another person." I told her

"I think you have a crush, A-lan. And that other feeling, it's what we call jealousy."

"Crush?" I asked, motioning my hands in a crushing motion. "And this jealousy you are talking about sounds like a lot of potential conflict, and as you know, we do not like conflict."

"No, um, crush is when you like-like someone. You know love."

"I do not know." I said confused

"It's when you connect with someone in a really strong way."

"And desire, somewhat irrationally, to be with them?" I asked

"Mmm-hmm."

"And what about the jealousy? I don't want to cause any problems."

"Well, don't let yourself to anything rash if you feel that again. Maybe talk to her, and be kind about it. You don't want to hurt her."

"Yes! That is it!" I cheered happily

"Who's the lucky person?" The girl next to me asked

"An alien." I answered with a smile

"Oh! Is it that one girl who couldn't open the door, because I don't really think—"

"No, I love A-bby." I interrupted

"You love A-bby?" Addison asked me

"Uh, y-yeah I do."

A big smile appeared of her face as she started clapping.

"Oh! I've never had to play matchmaker before! Oh, I'm going to love this!" She said excitedly

"Wait, wait, wait. She can't know." I told her

"What?"

"We're knew to feelings. What if she gets scared and runs off? What if she doesn't even like me back? I'm not sure what I'll do. I mean she's my best friend too." I rambled before Addison shushed me.

"We'll talk more about this after practice."

"Oh, practice. Sounds fun."

"Yeah, and we'll show you why the Mighty Shrimp are the best cheerleaders in the galaxy."

—————————————————————————

A-bby's POV

After our practice we walked over to the other group who had finished clapping.

"Our telepathic groupthink makes cheer so easy." A-li said

"Yes. We are even better than you, and you've practiced your whole life." A-lan commented, but I slightly hit his shoulder causing him to silence himself.

"So fun. Thank you for inviting us." I told everyone as we began to leave.

"Now that they're distracted we can..."

"See the moonstone."

"Vaporize them."

A-lan, A-spen, and I looked at A-li with a look.

"Don't look at me like that."

"A-li, we are a peaceful people." I told her softly

"Right, sorry. These emotions are getting to me." She apologized

"Oh, me too. The joy of competition has consumed me, and unfortunately, I am just so good at winning. And the feeling of Lo—"A-lan began to say but stopped himself. "Honestly I don't know how you're so calm and sweet all the time, A-bby. We must remember, we are one people."

"United."

"Without disagreement."

"And we need to find the moonstone."
