In order to be a graduate student under Anti-and the first student she had accepted-Miss Luck had to be practically glowing.
Everyoneâs gazes were fixed on the professor announcing the results, waiting for him to announce who the lucky one was.
For some reason, Angela couldnât help but swallow. She turned her head to see that Lisa was also watching the professor nervously. Immediately, she scoffed, âWhy are you looking at him? Itâs never going to be you anyway!â.
Anti had always ignored some of the e-mails sent to him within the country. Besides, he was only accepting two operations a month. How many connections must the accepted candidate have had to avail himself of before he was finally accepted?
In the midst of Angelaâs thoughts, the professor announced: âThe student is Lisa Black!
A furor ran through all the candidates in the hallway, and they all looked at Lisa.
Angela also looked at her in disbelief, and her eyes gradually grew larger. Suddenly, she held Lisa by the wrist and asked, âHow did you meet Anti?â.
Lisa shook her head, she was so astonished that she couldnât even speakâ¦.
Angela was about to press the issue when someone ran up to Lisa and asked, âMiss Black, do you know Anti? How did you get her accepted as a graduate student?â
âMy goodness, no wonder Director Shaw didnât accept you. It was because Anti already had his eye on you.â
âHello, Miss Black. My name is William Lewis. Weâre in the same group of students this year. I hope weâll get along well in the future.â
More and more people swirled toward Lisa. Even the staff member couldnât help but approach and ask, âMiss Black, do you really know Anti? What does he look like?â
Every journey starts at gαâηÏνððsâ¤cðð Lisa, â!â
Lisa, still reeling from shock, felt as if the whole thing had just fallen into her lap. It was as if she was in a dream where everything in front of her was unreal.
Everyone surrounded her, causing Angela to back up a few steps out of the circle.
Her face was about to contort in jealousy as she stood outside the crowd and stared at Lisa, who was inside.
How did this happen, how could this happen?
Why did Anti suddenly choose Lisa?
In the midst of her doubt, she heard a soft voice. âYouâre Angela Smith, right?â
A stunned Angela turned and saw Tina standing behind her. Tina looked at her with a smile and said, âFrom now on you will be doing your graduate studies under my direction. Mm, okay, for now you are in charge of contacting the rest of the students. By the way, I have some forms to fill out. Come with me so you can take them and distribute them to the others laterâ¦â
Although Angela wanted to run to Lisa and have her tell her the whole story, she had no choice but to follow Tina for the time being. The two of them headed together to the office building.
Along the way, Tina ambiguously asked, âWhat is your relationship with Lisa Black?â
Angela clenched her fists. There was hatred in her eyes as she replied bitterly, âSheâs my cousin.â
Tina smiled again. âOh, in that case, whatâs your relationship with Nora Smith?â
Angela became even more irritated at the thought of that woman. Hadnât she already made an agreement with Principal Shaw to accept her as his student? Why was she suddenly rejected?
She lowered her head and answered vaguely, âSheâs my older sister.â
âYour older sister?â
Tina looked at her in surprise. âIsnât she Lisaâs older sister?â
Angela, looking a little irritated, blurted out, âWe both have the last name Smith, so of course sheâs my sister. Lisaâs last name is Black.â
Tina narrowed her eyes. Then she smiled and said, âOh, itâs because of the admissions exercise this timeâ¦. Those who didnât know that would have thought she was in fact Lisaâs older sisterâ¦â
At that moment, Tina covered her mouth with her hand, as if she had accidentally said something she shouldnât have.
Angela, who had always been one to come up with all sorts of sneaky thoughts since she was a child, noticed her unusual behavior. She asked anxiously, âWhat do you mean by that, Miss York?â
Tina smiled and replied, âOh, itâs nothingâ¦â.
The more she refused to say anything, the more curious Angela became. She took a step forward, grabbed Tinaâs arm and said, âMiss York, you can tell me directly if thereâs anything you want to say!â.
Tina looked at her and let out a sigh. âNever mind. Since it looks like weâre going to get alongâ¦. How about this? Letâs go to the office together. Iâll tell you everything there little by little.â

In the office.
âDid you just say that Nora is able to contact Professor Anti?â
Angelaâs voice was so high-pitched it almost sounded like it could pierce the ceiling. She looked at Tina in disbelief. âIs that really true, Miss York?â
Tina raised her eyebrows. âWell, I only saw them together once beforeâ¦â
When Justin had gotten Anti to operate on Elderly Mrs. Hunt-though through what connections heâd managed to do so was unclear-Nora had also entered the operating room to study and observe the operation.
Even Tina had not been allowed inâ¦.
Later, when she realized that Justin was treating Nora a little differently, she had understood immediately: she must have pestered Justin to let her study Antiâs operation back then!
After all, Anti was a legend in the medical field. Very few had seen her during all these years.
Even when she spied on them the other time, she had only seen a few people from Antiâs team. She couldnât tell which of them was the big bossâ¦.
Angela clenched her fists tightly as she listened to Tinaâs ambiguous statement.
Seeing Angelaâs threatening look, Tina lowered her gaze again and let out a sigh. She said, âI thought you were getting along with your older sister, butâ¦. Well, it makes sense too. Not only did she not introduce you to Anti, but even Principal Shaw? I accepted you as a student because I felt sorry for you. Otherwise, you would have failed the admissions process!â
Angelaâs eyes snapped open. âPrincipal Shaw, what does this have to do with him? Is it also because of him that Principal Shaw didnât accept me as a student?â
Tina said nothing more, but merely looked at her with pity in her eyes.
Angela was shaking all over. Suddenly she screamed, âNora Smith!â
She ran out of the classroom as she screamed her name.
Once outside, she burst into tears and immediately called her parents in California.
Henry and Wendy answered the call together. A tearful Angela told them that not only did Nora introduce Anti to Lisa, but she even prevented Principal Shaw from accepting her as his student. They were both filled with anger when they heard what she said.
Wendy sighed and said, âThatâs too much of Noraâ¦. No matter what Angela is still her younger sister!â.
Henry slammed the table and said, âIâm going to book a plane ticket right now! Weâll go and make a fuss tonight! What a nasty daughter! Iâm not going to rest until I make her give me a nice sum of money this time!â.
Wendy sighed again. âIs it any use your going, Henry? What if Nora ignores us? Sheâs always resented us, Geez!â
Henry scoffed, âItâll work! It has to work! Iâm her father! If she abandons me, Iâll sue her! And the Andersons too! Weâll see which one of them is willing to put themselves on the spot.â
At the same time, Noraâs cell phone rang and she took the call from Lily, who was far away in a foreign country.
