An excited Quentin pocketed the bag of hair. When he looked up again, the man had already escaped.
Quentin smacked his head in annoyance.
Since Joel, the Smithsâ boss, had asked him to compare the DNA of Miss Smith and Uncle Ian, that must mean he suspected they were father and daughter.
If they really were father and daughter, then that would make Nora his cousin.
That man had the audacity to try to kill her cousin just now â he should have caught him and handed him over to Uncle Ian! Admittedly, however, the man was really agile. Although he didnât have much physical strength, he stood out for his agility.
Quentin looked down â when had anyone like that ever appeared in New York? It seemed about time they checked it out!
He pulled out his cell phone and called Joel.
âIâve got the samples.â
He then gave him a brief report of the process.
Upon being informed that someone was targeting Nora, Joelâs voice became a little gravelly. He said, âProtect her for the time being. Donât let anything happen to her, just in case sheâs really our cousin.â
âOkay.â
Then Joel asked, âThe samples didnât get switched, did they?â.
âNo way.â
Quentin was very sure. He was also exceptionally sure of himself. He said, âI watched him the whole time after he got the samples. He didnât have time to change them in the middle.â
âGood.â

The neglected Nora didnât feel any lingering fear even after returning to the Andersonâs house. Nor did she feel any pressing sense of crisis. Instead, she pulled out her laptop and began searching for the identity of the Grandfather Sponsor for her daughter.
But, in the end!
Someone had encrypted his Messenger application. Although she could decrypt it and locate him, breaking through the firewall by force would expose his identity as a hacker, Q. However, if she managed to bypass it without breaking the firewall, it would take some time.
Nora hesitated for a moment before quietly leaving the program. She sent a message to Cherry: âI only found out heâs a New Yorker. I havenât found out anything else.â
Cherry quickly replied, âYou must not have tried hard Mommy! With your invincible ability, thereâs no way youâd have a problem researching what you want!â
Despite having been separated for a few days, the little girl was still as fawning as ever!
Nora sighed. âIâm going to bed for now. Iâll be back to get it for you after the operation tomorrow.â
âOkie-Dokie, I knew Mommyâs the best! Cherry loves you~â
Nora couldnât be bothered with his crazy bouts of flattery. She left the voicemails and went to bed.
The boyâs surgery was scheduled for the next day, so she had to get a good nightâs sleep today.

The operation was performed at the New York Hospital.
Director Shaw was the head of the hospitalâs Department of Neurosurgery. It was also a great hospital on par with Finest Hospital in terms of reputation.
Nora drove to the hospital and arrived at the parking lot on time. She then entered the exclusive elevator and went up to the top floor.
The doctors used different routes than the patientsâ families. Michael and the others were already waiting for Anti in the sterile area.
Lisa, wearing a sterile surgical gown, stood at the back of the crowd with her eyes shining.
She was finally going to meet Anti. Although Anti had taken her on as a graduate student, this was the first time Lisa was going to meet Anti.
Just thinking about it made her quite nervous.
As she was thinking about this, the people next to her were also talking to each other in hushed voices. One of them said, âOh my gosh! Iâm really going to be part of the same operation as Anti!â
âI feel very lucky too! But the happiest one has to be Lisa. I found out that she wasnât on the list at first. Besides, this operation is so important that even PhD students and professors want to come and observe. Lisa is the only graduate student among them.â
âWhatâs the problem with that? In my opinion, Lisa will certainly be able to participate in all of Antiâs operations in the future!â
Lisa, who was a little embarrassed by the praise, lowered her head shyly.
Tina, however, frowned and scolded them. âStop gossiping and get ready to go into the laundry room for disinfection.â
Tina could consider herself the lead teacher as well as the second surgeon in the operation. Setting aside the important parts that she would do herself, Anti would assign her some of the other tasks.
Therefore, it could be fully considered that they would operate side by side.
Upon being briefed, the others stuck out their tongues at each other, went into the scrub area to disinfect themselves and also put on their masks, surgical caps, etc.
Lisa followed behind them. She was about to enter when Tina suddenly sneered and said mockingly, âYouâre just Antiâs student, thatâs all. Whatâs there to be so proud of? Everyone knows that Anti has always been based overseas and is not coming back to the U.S. to develop her career. For him to stay in the country sure puts him in a rather awkward and embarrassing situation.â
Lisa frowned as she heard what he had said.
She wanted to say something, but thinking the other party was a teacher, she could only shut her mouth.
After they were disinfected, Tina looked directly at her and ordered, âYou are in charge of taking care of the surgical instruments and the supply of surgical sponges!â
Lisa was taken aback.
The surgical instruments and surgical sponges in the operating room were supposed to be handled by the accompanying nurses, but Tina was assigning that task to her?
It was clear that it was oppressing her.
Lisa bit her lip, but in the end could only nod in resignation.
Then they went outside and waited for the chief surgeon to arrive.
It was at that moment that Tina suddenly glimpsed a familiar figure through the windows in the doorway.
She was stunned.
Nora Smith?
Why was she here?
Could it be that she hadnât given up yet and intended to enter the operating room?
âProfessor York, what are you looking at?â a doctor asked.
Tina looked away immediately. Her eyes swept down her side and she spotted Michael, who was nervously familiarizing himself with the things he needed to pay attention to during the operation. He looked very serious.
He pretended to approach unintentionally and asked, âDr. Lange, have you seen Miss Smith?â
Michael was taken aback. âWhat?â
Tina said immediately, âShe just walked by. It looks like sheâs gone into the locker room.â
The locker room?
Michael was stunned.
Tina continued. âAnti should be in the locker room now, shouldnât he? Will Miss Smith cause Anti any trouble if he comes into the locker room like that?â
Michael rushed over practically right after she said that.
Anti didnât like to reveal her face. This was something they all already knew before they came to the operation. So, Director Shaw had specially prepared a wardrobe for Anti. Anti was the only one allowed to enter.
Only one person would see what Anti really looked like today, and that was Michael, because today he was Antiâs assistant!
When Michael arrived at the locker room, he was just in time to see Nora push open the door and was about to enter.
He stepped forward in alarm and grabbed Nora by the arm. âWhat are you doing, do you know what this place is? This is a locker room set up just for Anti.â
Nora raised her eyebrows and looked at him calmly. âI know.â
Michael frowned and said angrily, âThen why do you keep coming in? Can you afford to take responsibility if you upset Anti and end up affecting todayâs operation? I know youâre eager to get into the OR, but those blatant nuisance tactics you use to look for work are not appropriate here. Youâ¦â
Before he could finish, Nora withdrew her arm from his grip. The woman, apparently amused, asked dispassionately, âHow am I supposed to operate if I donât change?â
Michaelâs eyes widened sharply at her words. âWhat did you say?â
