Mrs. Hunt: â???â
She was stunned. She looked at Pete, who was sitting up, and then at the sleeping Pete. She stood there in shock.
For a moment, she felt the light in the room was too dim and she was dazzled.
She swallowed a mouthful of saliva, rubbed her eyes. She looked again⦠The boyâs hair was a bit of a mess. Indeed, it was Pete! However, the other boy was sleeping soundly. He was even sniffling as if he had eaten something delicious in his sleep. It was Pete, too!
Mrs. Hunt turned to the nanny beside her in surprise. âYou, come and help me take a look, which one is Pete, am I seeing things?â
The nanny was also stunned.
No matter how she looked at them, she couldnât make them out. âMrs. Hunt, why do these two look like Young Master Pete? Are all children the same?â
âHow can they be the same, our little fatty is so ugly!â
Nanny: ââ¦â
Mrs. Hunt, they are all your great-grandchildren. Is this really appropriate? However, the two were already old ladies and were dazzled by everything they looked at. Therefore, they still did not understand what was going on. They did not dare to turn on the lights so as not to disturb the childrenâs sleep. The two exchanged words. Joel and Ian, who were at the door, looked at each other. The uncle and nephew were tactful and did not speak to each other.
It was all about watching Mrs. Hunt slap her face.
The two did not speak. They were sensitive people. Pete, who had awakened the moment Mrs. Hunt entered, sighed helplessly. âGreat-grandmother, my sister and I are twins.â
Mrs. Hunt was stunned. âSister? What sister?â
Her voice was a little high, waking Cherry from her deep sleep. She rubbed her eyes with her chubby hands and looked dazedly at Mrs. Hunt. Then, she was slightly dazed and called out in her childish voice, âGrandma? Why are you here?â
âWhatâ¦?â
The words made Mrs. Hunt realize something. She looked at Cherry in disbelief and then at Pete â she had finally figured it out!
She swallowed hard and said, âAre you Cherry?â
Cherry stood there in a daze for a while. When she turned and saw that her brother was already looking at her, she knew that her identity with her brother had been exposed. Therefore, she could only nod. âYes! Pete and I are twins!â
Mrs. Hunt: â!!!â
She took a step back and almost fell to the floor.
Howâ¦how was that possible?
She looked back up at Pete. âIn other words, your mom is Nora?!â
So Nora was Peteâs birth mother!
Pete nodded.
At that moment, Justin and Nora came home and the two of them went straight upstairs. When Justin saw Ian and Joel at the door, his heart sank.
Then, he stepped forward and shouted, âGrandma.â
Mrs. Hunt turned slowly. When she saw Justin, she shouted, âJustin, you have two sons!â.
Justin: ââ¦I know.â
Mrs. Hunt suddenly appeared in front of him. âWhy didnât you tell me, why didnât you tell me that Miss Smith is Peteâs biological mother?â
Justin looked at Nora and sighed softly. It was all because Nora wanted to keep it a secret.
At that moment, Ian suddenly said, âMrs. Hunt, itâs too late now. Since youâve seen Pete nowâ¦. Shouldnât you take Justin back?â.
When Mrs. Hunt heard this, she choked. She looked at Ian and said, âIan, look, it was a misunderstanding⦠what we said a moment ago doesnât count, does it?â.
Mrs. Hunt realized at last that she had made a mistake in thinking that Justin hadnât mentioned anything about his birth mother all these years. Now, Mrs. Hunt realized at last, belatedly, that she had made a mistake.
However, Ian said, âTell. Why wouldnât I tell?â
Mrs. Hunt was quick to say, âHow can it be, isnât this breaking up a loving couple?â
Ian smiled. âWerenât you also at odds with this marriage before? In that case, why should we force ourselves on each other?â.
Mrs. Hunt hastened to say, âNow I agree! For the sake of the two children, donât be calculating with me, okay?â.
Ianâs expression was serious. âMrs. Hunt, you are wrong. Even though they already have children, my daughter doesnât have to worry about not being able to find a good family.â
Mrs. Hunt became even more nervous. âSheâs Peteâs birth mother. Other than the Hunts, who else would want to marry her?â
These words were even more over the top.
As soon as she finished speaking, Justin yelled, âGrandma!â
Mrs. Hunt realized instantly that she had said the wrong thing. She hurried to look at Ian and saw that his expression had darkened. âWhat, the Hunts are already domineering to the point that if I donât let my daughter marry into their family, others wonât be able to marry my daughter? My family is not to be trifled with. If this doesnât work, and my daughter canât marry, Iâll take care of her forever!â
Mrs. Hunt still wanted to say something, but Ian had already turned to look at Joel. âJoel, itâs getting very late. Show the guests out.â
Joel stood up immediately. âMrs. Hunt, pleaseâ¦â
When Mrs. Hunt saw that he didnât care about her reputation, she became even angrier. âYou donât need to throw us out. Weâll leave ourselves. Justin, Pete, Cherry, pack up and letâs go home!â
When she said this, however, there was no movement behind her for a long time.
