Old Maddy had said that she could only fight the mysterious organization if King was willing to help her.
Nora didnât even know why she had to fight the mysterious organization, let alone know what exactly they were hiding.
But she still wondered that if she managed to establish a good relationship with King, would that mean Old Maddy would return?
But how was he going to form a good relationship with King? He didnât even know who he was.
Justin was at least the head of the number one family in the country. Besides, Nora had been suspecting all along that he was really the person with the Eagle alias in the Imperial League.
After all, there was no doubt that there were Americans in the Imperial League.
Through his observations, over the years, although both the Hunt Corporation and the Smith Corporation had made some bad investments, they had skillfully avoided the big problems that mattered most.
Although they had gone to great lengths to publicize how much they had lost, they had generally profited.
Their overall direction had not strayed from the right path. Small investment failures were nothing more than red herrings. If Nora hadnât been relatively insensitive to numerical data, she probably wouldnât have noticed either.
Definitely, these two families had a way of getting news from the Imperial League.
So, Justin and Joel must be in the Imperial League, right?
As she was thinking, Justin asked, âBy who?â
Nora asked, âWhere are you?â
â⦠At home.â
âIâll come and see you. These things need to be said in person.â
The Imperial League was not something to casually talk about. Besides, when they joined the Imperial League, they had sworn that they would never expose the existence of the Imperial League to outsiders.
It was just that she felt Justin was Eagle, which was why she had decided to ask him about it. However, it was not convenient to talk about it over the phone.
Even Justinâs voice sounded a little more cheerful than before. He said, âSure, come over to my house then. Peteâs here.â
Nora: â?â
She hesitated for a moment. âWhy is Pete there?â
Had she neglected her son because she had been busier lately?
A feeling of guilt came over her.
She was thinking about it when Justin said, âOh, the Hunts have exams today. Cherry canât cope with them.â
Nora: ââ¦â
She sighed quietly. Suddenly, she asked, âHow many people know about Pete and Cherry?â
The fact that they were twins had not yet been revealed to the public, but since everyone who should know already knew, Justin and Nora were no longer deliberately hiding it.
Justin replied, âAll the Huntâs already know.â He had used the words âHuntâ and not âmy familyâ.
From the term alone, one could see that Justin did not really have a strong sense of belonging to the Hunts.
However, Nora wasnât worried about that. In any case, the Huntâs power and authority had never been part of her consideration when it came to maintaining a relationship with Justin. Therefore, after uttering a âHmmâ¦,â she immediately said, âIâm coming right now.â
At the Hunt family school.
Pete put down his pen after finishing exams. When the bell rang, indicating that class was over, he handed in his papers and left the classroom.
As soon as he stepped outside, he saw Cherry sitting in the garden outside playing. Seeing him, she ran up to him and excitedly asked, âAre the tests over, Pete? Did you get a perfect grade?â
Pete replied, âSurely.â
âYouâre awesome, Pete!â The little bootlickerâs words of flattery began to flow as if they cost nothing. She said, âPeteâs the smartest big brother in the world! Heâs also the most amazing big brother in the world!â.
Pete: ââ¦â
Although Cherry always did this every time she saw him, he still wasnât used to hearing such things from her. He quietly changed the subject and lowered his voice. âWhere is that little demon?â
Cherry lowered her voice as well. âHeâs in the room. Heâs been surprisingly well-behaved, and hasnât left his room this whole time.â
Well behaved?
Pete scoffed, âHeâs definitely just pretending to be well-behaved. Come on, Iâll go meet him. Iâm definitely going to expose his true colors.â
Cherry nodded and followed him.
As the two were about to leave the school, Fatty came running up. âPete, you little twerp, your position as successor to the family will be gone very soon. Nanny nanny nanny boo-booâ¦. Thatâs awesome!â
As soon as she said this, the rest of the children started asking, âWhat happened?â
Fatty replied, âBecause Uncle Justin now has an illegitimate son, and he even brought him home! Pete will no longer be Uncle Justinâs only son. They say the illegitimate son is not to be trifled with â Pete, youâre finished!â
âPete is Dadâs only successor. Xander is nothing. Donât you dare talk nonsense.â
Cherry got angry and stepped in front of Pete.
Fatty, however, was distracted. Ever since he realized that Cherry was a girl and that she was Peteâs little sister, he had realized that the person who was playing with him at that moment was actually Cherry!
It was precisely this little liar who had bullied him. Seeing Cherry, Fatty wanted revenge even more. He shouted, âYou must be Cherry, right? What gives you the right to look down on Uncle Justinâs illegitimate child? At least heâs a boy, but what about you? Uncle Justin hasnât even officially introduced you to the other families. Youâre just an illegitimate child who canât even inherit anything! You canât even compare to his illegitimate child.â
Cherry: â?â
Her big dark eyes widened and she said, âOh, I see, so youâre an illegitimate child too, Fatty! No wonder Uncle Roger treated you so badly.â
Fatty replied, âIâm not an illegitimate child! What nonsense are you talking?â
Cherry said, âBut you just said that because Dad didnât introduce me to the other families, that makes me an illegitimate child. In that case, when has Uncle Roger ever introduced you to the other families?â
Fatty: â?â
For a moment, he was perplexed by Cherryâs fallacious argument. In fact, after thinking about it, he even thought what she said was true! Why didnât his father introduce him to the other families and say he was their son?
Cherry cocked her head to one side and continued. âOr are you not Uncle Rogerâs son at all?â
Fatty: â?â
Cherry sighed. âI mean, look how fat you are while Uncle Roger is so handsome. Heâs about as handsome as Dad, so how could you possibly be his son? Oh, I know! Uncle Roger must have found you somewhere outside and brought you home, right?â
Fatty: â???â
He was on the verge of tears. âIâm my fatherâs son!â
Cherry asked, âHow are you going to prove it?â
Fatty was totally perplexed. Suddenly, he burst into tears, turned around and ran away while shouting, âDad, am I your son or not?â.
With just a few words, Cherry had driven Fatty away. She blinked her big eyes at Pete and shook her head slightly. âDo people get stupid when they get fat, Pete?â.
Pete: ââ¦â
He took Cherryâs hand and said, âAll right, letâs go home!â.
He couldnât be bothered to argue with Fatty. He just needed to do something casually and Fatty would have a hard time at school.
But the sight of his younger sister defending him put him in a very good mood!
So, he would go home right away and teach Xander, who was making his sister uncomfortable, a lesson!
Hand in hand, the two children hopped and skipped as they ran towards the villa where Justin lived.
They didnât even see that Justin was standing not far away.
Noraâs car also happened to enter the Hunt mansion at that moment.
