Justin sat up abruptly. The man, who had just done something wrong, had such a guilty conscience that he didnât dare look at her.
The man, who had always been able to dominate the space he was in, tensed. In his mind, his thoughts were also battling with each other: when had he woken up? He didnât feel it now, did he? Should he keep kissing her?
While he was having an internal struggle, the woman grabbed him roughly by the collar of his shirt and pulled him hard. Justin, a man who could dodge all the shots in a hail of bullets, was pulled towards her like a weakling, and collided with her.
âCome on, letâs goâ¦â
Hearing this, Justin kissed her hard again.
The kiss this time was extremely passionate.
Justin felt as if the woman was about to claim every part of him, down to his bones, and the lust in his eyes gradually grew stronger. But just as he was about to reach into his clothes, the woman grabbed him.
Justin looked at her slowly. In a husky voice, he asked, âNot anymore?â
Nora replied, âWeâre going toâ¦â. She had only uttered one word when the man moved again, seeming to die from waiting, wanting to devour her in the car. Nora hurried to put his hands down again.
Only then did she feel that the man really had a lot of physical strength. He must have intentionally lost to her in all their fights in the past, right?
Sensing her displeasure, the man stopped.
His breathing was ragged and fine beads of sweat had formed on his forehead in the small vehicle. His voice had become even huskier than before as he asked, âDidnât you say âLetâs goâ?â
ââ¦I meant âletâs talkâ!â replied Nora.
Justin froze, and only then did he realize that he had misunderstood. But now that his desire had been aroused, how could he have time to worry about that? He leaned forward to kiss her again and said, âLetâs talk when weâre done with our business.â
Nora turned her head away from him, the look in her eyes turning cold as she said, âMr. King, our business here is to have a good talk.â
âMr. Kingâ¦â
That sentence of hers made Justin suddenly realize something: The woman was angry!
He coughed and hurried to sit upright, all meaningless thoughts expelled from his mind. He looked at Nora and said, âNora, listen, let me explain.â
âOkay. Go on, Iâm listening.â
Nora folded her arms and looked at him indifferently with her feline eyes.
How could it be possible that Nora wasnât angry?
She had already told Justin that she wanted to seek out King and gain his favor, but little did she know that the man would hide from her that he was King!
Even though the man wore a mask, he was someone she loved deeply. No matter how much he tried to hide his identity, even if it was purely by intuition, she would be able to recognize him immediately once they met.
Even if that guy turned to ashes, he wouldnât be able to escape her attention. Did she really think he was that successful at hiding his identity?
Even so long after they got into the car, he still didnât give the explanations he should have given. Instead, she even had to ask him about it.
Besides, since the Barbarian incident, the guy had disappeared into thin air. He had time to contact Sean and Lawrence but didnât have time to even give her a call?
Ha.
There were serious consequences when Nora got angry.
Seeing the womanâs cold stare, Justin immediately understood the importance of the matter. He lowered his gaze and let out a quiet sigh. He said, âItâs not that I didnât want to tell you, or that I didnât want to contact you. I⦠I was hurt.â
Hurt? Noraâs eyelashes trembled a little and she looked at him sideways.
Who was she kidding? Based on how excited he had been while chatting with the Queen earlier, whichever way you looked at it, he didnât seem to be hurt at all.
This guy was too insidious. He must be acting deliberately in front of her, right?
She didnât move, nor did she speak. Instead, she continued to wait for him to explain himself.
Justin didnât seem to wait for her to speak either. He merely touched his chest unconsciously.
Noticing what he was doing, Nora frowned and said, âTake off your clothes.â
In front of them was a traffic light.
Thus, the car had stopped temporarily.
Hubert, the chauffeur, pressed his ear against the screen, hoping to hear what exactly was going on behind him. But the moment he did, he heard three sensational words, âTake off your clothes.â
Hubert: ââ!â
In his earpiece, Lawrence was still pressing him for details.
âHowâs it going, did you hear anything?â
âY-yes, I did.â
âWhat are they doing, what are they saying?â
Hubert stared straight ahead, stunned, as he replied, âTake off your clothes.â
âWhat!â
Lawrence gasped. âItâs over, itâs all over, the boss has really been bewitched by that bitch! Miss Smith is going to be dumped!â
In the back seat.
Justin was also stunned for a second by Noraâs frankness. Then he broke into a smile, with a crinkle in his eyes, which seemed to even illuminate the dim light of the car a little.
He commented unhurriedly, âMm? Are you that direct?â
He didnât move, however.
Nora knew the man was doing it on purpose this time to change the subject. Without another word, she reached out forcefully, grabbed Justinâs blazer and pulled it off.
As soon as he took the blazer off, she saw that the color of the black shirt he was wearing was a little darker at the chest.
Noraâs pupils shrank, her keen senses detecting that these were bloodstains.
She pulled hard. With a sharp tear, the silk shirt ripped open, revealing the white bandages wrapped around Justin.
The bandages were soaked with blood. It was obvious that it was either an old wound that had opened up, or it was a recent injury.
He frowned and asked, âWhat happened?â
âItâs nothing.â Justin said impassively, âItâs just a small wound.â
Nora had already untangled the bandage, over which she saw an incision near where his heart was. Judging by its size, it was probably made to extract a bullet from inside itâ¦..
In other words, a bullet had barely grazed his heart.
Although she knew full well that the man had survived, the mere thought that he might have died if the bullet had deflected the slightest bit made Noraâs gaze turn cold. Murderous intent abruptly burst around her, and she asked slowly, âWhat the hell happened?â
Her voice trembled slightly, the intrepid woman was somewhat shaken at the moment.
Indeed, her children had been on the verge of losing their father at one point.
Justin patted her head as if he were smoothing the fur of a cat about to get angry. His voice was soft and powerful when he replied, âItâs really nothing. It was just a little confrontation with the enemy.â
A small confrontation?
That so-called âlittle confrontationâ had almost cost him a date with Hades.
Seeing that Justin was about to speak again, Noraâs voice became stern and she said, âI want the truth.â
She had never been a fragile flower that needed to be protected by a man .
