Dhiven asked, " What are you thinking? You are not believing that how did it happen. "
" It's hard to believe that the person whom Unicorn had been trusting till date turned out to be the one who stabbed it in the back. "
Dhiven huffed and gave a lopsided smile. He looked at his left outside the window. He then looked at him.
" After years of service I have begun to realise that there is something more crucial for me than the country. "
Vihaan stepped towards him. He stopped at just a two feet distance away from him.
" And what's the crucial thing? Money? "
" Freedom. "
" What does this word mean to you? "
Dhiven chuckled. He walked ahead and passed by Vihaan.
He said, " Mean to me? Do you even have any idea how many years we have been away from our loved ones without taking care of ourselves just because we have been following the orders of unicorn one after the other? "
Vihaan turned to him.
" What do you want to say? "
" We didn't ask any favour from them nor they gave us anything except this anonymous life and suffering. "
" That's our job. We do so to keep our citizens safe that's why we are obliged to remain anonymous. "
Dhiven turned to him.
He yelled, " For how long? For how long we will lead this anonymous life? For how long we will just follow their orders who doesn't care about the shit we goes through on our mission. "
" Which is why you joined hands with ISI? "
" Ofcourse I did. And I invite you to come with me too. "
" I won't. "
" I knew you wouldn't. "
Vihaan followed Dhiven to Rubina's bedroom. A black luggage bag was kept on the bed. They came near to the bed. They looked at each other.
Dhiven said, " Open the bag. "
Vihaan got his hands near to the bag. Dhiven observed the pistol in his right hand.
He said, " You don't need the gun to open a bag. "
" It's not for the bag. "
While Vihaan was zipping the bag, Dhiven slowly got his hand behind where he had a knife tucked in the rear of his trousers belt. There was a lot of cash inside the bag.
" This is what they gave you? "
" It's just a quarter of the amount. I was here to give their proposal to Rubina. "
" You tried to buy her with this money. "
" But she didn't agree. "
Vihaan sighed and looked at the cash again.
Dhiven asked, " So, what have you decided? ISI or death. "
Vihaan didn't respond.
Dhiven said, " Take your time. You have (looked at his wrist watch) ten seconds. "
" You. "
Dhiven pulled out his knife. He was about to stab him but Vihaan shot him on his chest. Dhiven fell on the ground and died after the blood spattered over his chest. Vihaan kept the gun into his holsters. He kneeled down to Dhiven, searched his pocket and took out a car key. Before leaving the room he got his eyes on the cash bag. He zipped the bag, picked it up and left the room. Vihaan was driving Dhiven's sedan. Rubina was lying at the backseat. The cash bag was kept on the passenger seat. He geared up the car and drove through the busy streets of the city. The car arrived near a hospital. He blowed the horn twice. A couple of nursing staff came to the car. They opened the backseat door. Vihaan got out of the car and helped them to take Rubina out of the car. They put her on a stretcher and began to head towards the hospital entrance. Vihaan was standing outside the emergency room. He saw Rubina from the window who was lying unconscious on the hospital bed. The medic was preparing his accessories along with his two assistants for the treatment. Vihaan left. He walked through the lobby and came out of the hospital. He drove the car away from the city and followed the route. He entered the premises of an abandoned powerhouse station. He drove the car into the building. He stopped the car. He came out with the cash bag in his hand. He opened the trunk of the sedan where Dhiven was lying dead inside. He threw the cash bag into the trunk. He picked up a kerosene can from the table. He came to the car and poured in entire oil on the car. He dropped the can. He took out a lighter. He lit the one and threw on the car. The car caught the fire in no time and was turned into flames. He kept looking at the car until it was fully burnt.
Nilima went to the door of her house after she heard the doorbell. She arrived and opened the door. Ritika was standing outside. A young soldier, Prashant (in his mid twenties) was standing behind her. She hugged Nilima and cried. She pat on her back.
She asked, " Ritika, where is dad? "
Ritika kept sobbing and looked at her.
Nilima asked, " Ritika, what happened? Where is he? "
She looked at Prashant and tried to ask her but he felt it better not to answer and looked down.
Two black bulletproof cars arrived at defence ministry which was at the south block of the New Delhi. Two armed NSG commandoes came out of the first car and came near to the second one. They opened the backseat door of the car at the same moment. Defence Minister Rajeshwar Nath (in his early sixties) and National Security Advisor (NSA) Avijit Roy (in his mid fifties) came out of the car. They stepped towards the ministry. Rajeshwar and Avijit walked through the premises of the defence ministry while being followed by the two NSG commandoes. Major General Prateek Verma (in his mid sixties) and Colonel Anil Biswas were sitting at the waiting area in the lobby of the ministry. Prateek was reading a magazine which was kept on the table which was in front of them having two or three more magazines. A female staff, Anisha (in her early thirties) came to them.
" Excuse me sir. "
Prateek looked at her.
She said, " The minister has arrived. "
He nodded.
" Thank you. "
They stood up together. Anil corrected his coat and they both headed to the conference room while following the lady. As they came near to the conference room, Shekhar Gavle (in his early fifties), Secretary to the defence ministry came to them.
He said, " Major General Prateek Verma. "
" Yes sir. "
