Beep

Quiet.

Beep Beep

Quiet again

Beep Beep

I opened my eyes, my mind overwhelmed from the singular sound. I went to get up wanting to silence it but stopped half way as you noticed the IV connected to my arm and... is that? Blood? A blood transfusion?

I looked at the needle marks that decorated my skin in multitude of patterns. I trembled as the memories of everything that happend in the recent days came back.

The thoughts swarming my mind like bees around their queen. Hands moved to my head, gripping my hair, trying to cover my ears.

Eyes darting around the room only to fall shut as I brought my knees to my chest. The beeping got louder and louder until I couldn't take it anymore. I ripped the tubes connected to my hands and got off the bed. The beeping of my heart turning into one continuous ring.

Running out of the room I saw someone coming towards my direction, I didn't know where I was or who they were so I ran. I could hear laughing, it got louder and louder, I felt my whole body ache, it didn't stop me, I needed to move. Get away. Run. Find safety.

The files, I was getting the files. I need to get them back. I need to come back. I need to follow orders. Keep going. Don't stop. Not until they tell me. I am just waiting for the next order. Like a dog. Was I their dog?

I opened the exit door only to bump into someone. I fell to the ground with a whine as pain shoot through my whole body. I looked up and noticed a group of people looking down at me, their laughs filled my ears, my body shaking.

I couldn't get caught like that.

No. No no no NO!

I wouldn't let them torture me again, I wouldn't let them touch me again. Not again!

"Please... not again..."

My voice came out weak and vulnerable, it was rough after not speaking for so long. One of the figures knelt down as I tried to move away, their arms wrapped around me and I began screaming, trying to get out.

"Mause! Stop it's okay! Ah, Scheisse!"

Another set of hands held me down to the ground as I was trashing around. My heart beat so fast I could feel it ripping out of my chest.

"Y/N! You are opening your stitches!"

"Let me go!"

I spoke, but didn't continue as the words had hit my head. Y/N? Not Shade? Nor Gloom? No, they said Y/N.

I finally looked around, first meeting eyes with Soap and then König as they both tried to hold me down. I looked at my clothes, a hospital gown adored my small frame, I stopped breathing for a moment, only exhale shakily.

"I-" My words got stuck in my throat as I saw Gaz looking at me with a worried and what seemed, a horrified expression.

"You are okay, Shätz."

Königs voice was calming, but I could distinct the worry that laced it's edges. They both slowly let go of me, unsure of what could happen next.

"My... My orders. The mission-! I need to-!"

My shaky voice was stopped by Soaps shushing.

"Your mission is over Y/N. We are back at base. You hear me? You are safe. Safe with us."

The information reached my brain, but my body didn't relax, as if it was going on muscle memory alone. I sat up slowly now noticing the scratches on Königs arms, I reached out my own hands to check what has happened. That's when I saw my bloodied nails, I moved my hands closer to my face, it hit me. That the wounds were indeed made by me.

I hurt König.

No. No I would never. No!

I covered my mouth, my body starting to shake again. The memory of him saving him from my nightmare played in my head.

"Ah I... I didn't... no- I didn't mean-"

König seemed to quickly grasp the situation and moved closer, grabbing my hands softly.

"Mein Liebling, it's alright. This doesn't hurt. Du sehst?"

"I'm sorry... Ja... nie chciałam. Ja naprawdę-!" - (I... didn't want this. I truly-!)

He buried my face in his chest as he held me close. I tried to calm down, listening to his heart beat helped me refocus.

Gaz was talking with the doctors now, trying not to pay too much attention to the hurtful sight. It looked like I was out of my mind, like I went full crazy, I understood. My mind kept on whispering things, things that came back to hunt me in my dreams, when I was alone.

They hate me now.

They won't want to see me after this.

Now they surely know, I am not a good pick.

Soap helped me stand up, letting me place my weight against him. All three of them looked on edge, but so was I. My legs gave out under me, the pain was unbearable. Soap went to catch me but the giant man was faster. He picked me up bridal style yearning a small whine out of me, he tried to be gentle that was obvious, his hands softly pressed against my skin. As if he could break me with the slightest of pressure.

"Sorry, Mein Shatz. Does it hurt a lot?"

The evident worry in his eyes made me want to tear up. I didn't want to let König see me like this. I didn't want any of them to see me like this.

"I can handle it."

I tried to sound more confident, but it was all left at this point. I just wanted to hide. No more words have been spoken between us. I was carried by König to the hospital room in silence. The nurses placed my IV back into my arms. I closed my eyes looking away, not wanting to see the needles again, they made me nauseous.

Someone held my hand, it was König.

"It's okay Mein Liebling. Do you not like needles?"

Before I could even reply the nurse exclaimed she was finished and left the room. I shook my head and looked at my arm.

"Why don't you guess?"

It came out much more angry then I wanted it too.

"Sorry..."

This broke my heart and immediately made me feel guilty. I brought my hands up waving them frantically.

"No, it's not your fault! I am sorry. I guess I am still stressed a little."

"How are you feeling?"

Soap didn't let the awkward silence to take place and I finally looked his and Gaz's way. They looked as equally worried. I took a deep breath before speaking. I still was trying to take everything in.

"I will be okay."

I had no other choice.

"How long was I here?"

They all looked between each other. Was it that long? What was going on when I was asleep?

"Four days."

Gaz finally answered. They then tried to change the topic, perhaps worried I would get another panic attack.

"So much stuff has missed you, we can try to catch you up on some."

I looked towards König who kept silent, all of them now sitting next to my bed. They started to tell me all about the new training Ghost put my unit through. Saying I was lucky not to be a part of it. Apparently KorTac's team has also came to the station what has caused some issues in our unit, they didn't tell me anything more about that. Perhaps because König was here.

"Someone will probably come soon as well. We will try to come again tomorrow."

Soap left with a smile. I bet he meant Ghost, I wanted to see him as well. I wonder if he was worried or if he simply didn't care. I turned my focus back to the quiet man sitting beside me.

"How did you know I was there?"

"We were payed to get you. Although I myself would have done it for free."

"Did Persha employ you?"

He only nodded, unsure at first. König was safe to be around, it made me finally relax. I didn't put my guard down fully but I wanted to trust him. I wanted to trust someone fully again.

"Thank you, kochanie." - (darling)

I could see he smiled under his hood. He grabbed my hand again, dragging his fingers on it softly. He wasn't wearing gloves, I was able to see all the veins that ran under his skin. I reached my other hand placing it on top of his.

"Your fingers feel rough."

"Is that bad?"

Oh god. Don't tell me that my stupid mouth will make this man insecure. I smiled at him and shaking my head to the sides. I gently raised his hand up so I could see the size difference between them.

"No, I just didn't know it. Look, your hands are so much bigger then mine."

---

He looked at your hands pressed together, he could feel his face warming up at the thought of holding it now. Should he do it? He wasn't sure. But the opportunity was perfect and you didn't seem to mind being close to him. His fingers bend slowly, grasping your hand into his, his eyes focused on you face. How would you react? Was it good? Bad? Surprised? Would you take it back?

Laughter. Soft laughter left your lips. He wasn't sure what to do next. Were you laughing at him? He was afraid to ask, he didn't want that to be the truth.

"König, you are so cute."

"Cute?"

This made him happy in so many ways especially after your fingers grasped his hand as well. But he wanted to be more then cute with you. He had to make a move now, it would kill him if he didn't. Maybe he could steal you from Ghost after all.

"You think I am just cute? Mein Shatz?"

He brought your hands closer to him.

"What do you mean?"

You looked a little confused, it's okay you would understand. He leaned closer, lifting his mask a little only to drop it around your arm. He pressed his lips to your fingers, never taking off his eyes off of you.

"Don't you think I can be something more then just cute, Mein Liebling?"

God, your blushing face. He never thought he would be graced with such a beautiful sight, how much he wanted for you to look at him like this more often.
