Chapter 24 å®59%å ¨ The event was winding down. Fiona knew she couldnât keep Sebastian waiting any longer, so she decided to get going. But Alexa hated Fiona to the core. The moment she saw Fiona heading out, Alexa got up off the floor, her face twisted in rage, and she lunged at Fiona. âFiona, Iâll kill you!â
But Fiona dodged with ease. Then Alexa went sprawling to the ground with a huge crash.
Fiona couldnât help but gloat: âHurts, doesnât it? kill me? You think Iâm that easy to get rid of?â
Lying there, Alexaâs hatred for Fiona only grew. The pain kept her on the ground, but she shot Fiona a look sharp enough to kill âWhyâd you do this to me?â she spat out, her eyes glaring Ted hot to give the card to Paul or make you Fiona put a hand in her pocket and leaned casually against the door. âWhat did I do to you? Câmon, did I tell you to dump wine on me?â
Alexa wasnât hearing what Fiona said. âThis is on you, I gave you my clothes out of kindness, and you said youâd come to the room. Whyâd you have to play dirty?â
She had it all planned out. If Fiona had just gone to change as she said she would, sheâd be the one caught naked in the bed. Then Charlotte would call off the engagement, letting off some steam and leaving Sebastian in a pile of embarrassment. That way, sheâd surely be more approving and satisfied with Alexa, solidifying Alexaâs status. Fiona, with her flashy Latin dance at the opening ceremony, wouldâve been labeled as indiscreet, while Alexa would still shine as the most dazzling one, the perfect example for elite families looking for a daughter-in-law, and she might even meet a guy better than Nathan But now, Alexaâs hopes were shattered. She even offended Cora, who had always supported her. Fiona had ruined everything. Alexa felt like ripping her to shreds.
Macy was heartbroken. She hugged Alexa tight and shot a furious look at Fiona. âIf you wanna end the engagement, just end it. Why do you ask for so much money? Couldnât you just cancel it without causing all this trouble? Youâre saying Alexa did you dirty, but look at you-youâre not even hurt. Look at the mess youâve made of her. How can you be so heartless? What do you think youâre doing.
Fiona kicked in the door, pointed at Macy, and barked, âShut up!â Macy, totally s p o o k e d, crashed to the floor.
âSo, I was supposed to just let Alexa trick me and walk into her trap?â Fionaâs voice was ice-cold with rage, and a swear word slipped out in her fury. If Evelina hadnât been there, she probably would have beaten Macy up.
She shut her eyes tight, not wanting to even see Alexaâs or Macyâs faces. Taking a few deep breaths to compose herself, Fiona then opened her eyes, locked on Cora. âThis room, itâs booked under the schoolâs name, isnât it?â Fiona asked.
Alexa stopped crying as a sinking feeling hit her. âFiona, what are you plotting now?â
Fiona put on her innocent smile. âAlexaâs used this school booked room for her schemes, even called the press to create a scandal. A student who doesnât think twice about dragging the schoolâs name through the mud should be expelled!â
âFionalâ Alexa screamed with anger and despair.
your cheek not sting Fiona glanced at the red mark on Alexaâs face-it was just as visible as the one from school. She knew how to twist the knife. âDoes y with all that yelling? You blew 800 thousand dollars for nothing. Since it looks like luckâs not on your side, Iâll cut you a deal on that ointment I gave you- just 400 thousand dollars this time. Then maybe your face can clear up before Nathan is released from jail. Try your luck with him again. It could work out for you.â
âYouâ¦â Alexa, red-faced and speechless with rage, pointed at Fiona. But before she could say anything, she coughed up blood and collapsed.
âAlexalâ Macy screamed. She glared at Fiona, ready to bark at her.

Chapter 24 Fiona just raised an eyebrow. âWhat are you staring at me for? Better call 911, quick. You need her around to help when youâre old and gray, donât you?â
Luther was enjoying the drama unfold. âHoly cow, Iâve never actually seen someone spit blood from anger in real life. I thought that was just a TV thing.
Ainât this a bit harsh?â
Sebastian arched an eyebrow and threw a glance at Luther. âHarsh?â
Realizing his slip, Luther backpedaled. âMy bad. I meant, my goddess here is just too cool, way too cool!â
As Sebastian played with his turquoise bracelet, he asked icily, âCool? Your like her or something?â
Smacking his own mouth, Luther corrected himself again. âOops, I got that wrong too. Fiona is clever, no doubt. You two are like a power couple.â
Sebastian nodded c o o l ly. âThey deserve what they got. The hotel doors are custom-made. If itâs damaged, they have to pay for it. Thatâll be 4 million dollars. Just transfer it to me when you get it.â
Valmead Hotel was owned by the Hill family. Luther was stunned. âSebastian, are you short of money? Did something bad happen? If youâre in trouble, you shouldâ¦â
With a sharp glance, Sebastian shut Luther up. âJust send me those snaps of Nathan the pa p a r a z z i got, and the video you took earlier. Iâm outta here.â
âSure thing, Sebastian. Bye,â Luther said, watching him leave before turning to Adrien with confusion. âWhatâs up with him wanting 4 million dollars?â
Adrien, pushing up his glasses with a smirk, said, âMaybe heâs collecting for somebody else.â
âFor someone else? Like who? Fiona? Luther scratched his head. âCome on, Sebastianâs ro lling in dough. Heâll never run out of money. Charging 4 million for a door, and even from his own nephew. Man, isnât that a bit too much?â
Adrien patted Lutherâs shoulder. âListen, Fiona is Nathanâs fiancée, picked by Vicente himself. Get it?â
A lightbulb went off in Lutherâs head, and he got a bit of a shiver. âOh, wait, so maybe I should be asking for 8 million dollars?â
rang. It was Sean. âMeet me in the er phone rang.
Just after Fiona left the chaos behind and stepped into the elevator, she was about to call Sebastian when her basement. Iâll take you home,â he said, but before she could say no, Sean hung up.
Up on the 18th floor, Sean stood beside Sebastian, who glanced at him with an icy look after Sean ended the call.
Right then, the elevator doors slid open. The two of them stepped inside together.
âYour niece Alexa spat up blood, and youâre not rushing to the hospital with her? Instead, youâre here to drive someone else home?â Sebastian asked.
âAnd your nephew Nathanâs in jail. Arenât you hitting up the police station to bail him out?â Seanâs hands were casually tucked in his pants pockets. There was a clear hostility hanging between them as they looked at each other.
Meanwhile, down by the basement level elevator exit, Fiona waited, her back against the wall. The doors dinged open, and out stepped Sean and Sebastian, looking like they were ready to go head-to-head.
âWhat a coincidence,â Fiona exclaimed inside. She couldnât even get a word out before both men turned to her and said together, âIâll drive you home.â
