Stars filled the sky like pollen into freshly drifting wind. It was the promise of life in the darkness, a sense of warmth springing from the cold

Ember saw each night sky as a fresh gift given anew. It was the moment anyone that knew her would see her eyes smile and her breathing deepen just a little

"GOTCHA BITCH" She screamed as she lowered the gun from her eye level

"Fucking hell" Gabrielle groaned

"See, I told you, you can't shoot your shot for SHIT" Ember chuckled as she started to walk over to the stand

The girl had shot down three metal ducks passing at a rapid pace across the board, it was only her first try and she had already won the fluffy bear hitched at the side of the booth

"I don't get it. HOW" Gabrielle groaned knowing she had failed at every attempt

.....all twelve of them

"Come here, let me show you" Ember chuckled and motioned for the girl to join her

With her faith in herself at a low, Gabrielle dragged her heels to head over to the brunette, knowing the girl was glowing inside at her wins

"aww don't look at me like that" Ember giggled

"Shut up, I give up" Gabrielle groaned as she kept walking

Her head was lowered to the ground as she walked forward with a pout on her lips, her eyebrows furrowed and no energy left to give to the game

It had already taken her dignity, especially when Emebe dropped to the ground laughing when Gabrielle failed on her seventh attempt. It took all the strength in her to not aim that pellet gun to the girl's ass and make sure she doesn't walk for the rest of the week

Gabrielle's head collided with Ember's chest as she simply sunk her misery into the girl's warm body

A cold night, a lucid moon, heaven's eyes shone in the black but Ember's heat radiating onto her made Gabrielle feel at home

Ember was her home.

The brunette giggled as she wrapped an arm around the blonde girl, pulling her even deeper into her chest

A soft feeling was left on Gabrielle forehead from the lips of Ember

It was a simple peck but it was just enough to carry her mood to another level

Her pout soon became a blush, burning her inner cheek at the feeling rushing through her

There was only one person that could ever make her feel that way, but she could only hope that Ember would realize that

"You're so cute" Ember chuckled

"Nooo, shut up and hold me" Gabrielle groaned, snuggling deeper into the girl's embrace

Ember didn't hesitate to drop the plastic riffle onto the ground and drape her arms tightly around the girl's body

The cold night borrowed body heat as if it were a cup of sugar, yet come the hold of Ember, it returned with honeycomb

In her embrace the world stopped still on its axis. There was no time, no wind, no rain. Gabrielle' mind was at peace

Home was what her heart desired and Ember was surely that and more

Pure. Unselfish. Undemanding. Free. Just words to describe Ember, she truly didn't deserve the bullshit this world fed her but the product she became afterwards was impressive to look at

Mistakes happen and Gabrielle will always feel that regret in her heart that she didn't realize her feelings sooner. Being wrapped around her ex's finger and being confused with herself was enough to lead her stray

But being wrapped up in Ember's arms, the cold night's wind pinning them together like glue, it was evidence that she made the right decision to follow her heart

Ember felt Gabrielle's body press in, soft and warm. This was the love she'd waited for, prayed for. She inwardly thanked whoever was incharge of bringing them together and hugged all the tighter. A love like this was to be cherished for life. Finally, she was home

"You're making it really hard for me to not fall for you" Ember whispered

Gabrielle placed her chin on the girl's collar bone, tilting her head slighty to face the girl

"I've already fallen in too deep" She mumbled

A clutching feeling wrapped around Ember's heart, as if it was unlocking a cage of butterflies and letting them flow into the pit of her stomach

She tried so hard to hold back her smile but it was forcing its way through. Her lips curled to the side as her pearly whites shone through, just as bright at the stars on the starry night

"God what are you doing to me Gabrielle" The brunette whispered

"I'm just trying to make you happy"

"Believe me. You are" Ember mumbled

"Then I'm almost there" Gabrielle said, peeling her body off the girl

Ember furrowed her brows as the girl stepped backwards

"What do you mean?" She questioned

But the singer simply smiled and shook her head

Her slender fingers then intertwined with Ember's once again as she started to tug her towards another ride

"Where are we going?" she asked

"Ferris Wheel" The blonde grinned

The massive size wheel stood at the edge of the platform, it was the last ride of the park that stood over the ocean waves

What more perfect way to end the night than the feel the cold wind through their hair and being so close to God

Bestie vibes only

Gabrielle flipped a switch and the wheel came to life. Second by second, every light graced the sky before making its way full circle. Flickering lights mocked the dark, for any bright spark had the power to call back a rainbow of vibrant hues. Golden lights slung through the the hoops as the wheel started rotating

The two girls strapped themselves in their seat, making sure it was secure. Gabrielle could see the security guard coming towards the machine to control it

"You girls ready?" He asked

"Ready" Gabrielle grinned

The man hit the switch and off the machine went. Their seat slowly started to move around the wheel

The pure black of the night became comfort, the blanket of generous velvet that kept them safe. It was the pure black that made the moon so beautiful, that makes a stage for her to stand upon

The ghostlike beauty blessed the sky and beamed onto their skin. It was the pure black of the night that gave the stars their beauty, and in it, their heart was safe

As the wheel came higher, the view of the sea was coming to play. The ocean breathed, her surface rising and falling with rhythmic ease. The waves became her pulse. The echo of the souls she kept safe in her cradle of brine

The city flowed heavily on the horizon, each street light gave way for passing vehicles, each apartment building gave light to those within. She could only stop and stare at the city knowing those lights met people who went about living their daily life, each having a different story than the next yet all connected at the same time

It was a breathtaking sight to see, it was the first she's ever experienced such beauty first hand

Ember glanced over to her lover, only to see the girl's eyes were already on her own

"Hi" her soft voice came out so smoothly

"Hi" Ember giggled

"Ya know... It's getting kinda cold over here" Gabrielle said coily

"Oh? And what should I do about that?" Ember smirked

"Maybe... Just maybe... You can... You know... Come over here and cuddle with me" The singer said before grinning like a small child

"You're so fucking cute" Ember chuckled

In their serenity, they found joy, an essential ingredient of their pilot light

The brunette opened her arms for the girl to come closer. Gabrielle didn't hesitate to land in her arms and having them wrapped around her like a safe blanket

The cold night gave them ever more reason to draw closer to one another, to feel the natural warmth they were born to give

"I said I'm almost there for a reason" Gabrielle whispered

"And why's that?" Ember asked

"Because the next step is falling in love with you" the blonde said

I guess another cage was placed into Ember's heart because someone unleashed those butterflies again

They took over her stomach again, using her veins as a branch to rest on which simply sent the joyful feeling through her entire body

Ember's eyes fluttered shut as she allowed that feeling to charge within her

It was something she's always wanted, something she craved. To have someone want her, to have someone love her. To have someone see her more than what she saw of herself

A broken girl who's parents controlled her every more like she was an experiment to the world

Ember would go to insane lengths to feel like she was wanted. To feel like someone cared about her. To feel as if she was loved as a person

Even if that meant surrendering her dignity and her heart to people who only used her for sex

But finally, she was hearing the words she needed to sew her heart. To mend those broken bones and bring her new

"I can't tell you enough how special you are to me Ember" The singer started again

Ember's eyes fluttered open to lock onto those light green eyes of the girl that were soaked in honey brown. Her eyes told her story and her truth

"But I'm falling so fast and I can't stop it" She said

Gabrielle's thumb gently pressed against the girl's cheek as she turned her head to face her own

"I promise I'm not going to break your heart. I just want to show you what love is. I want to feel what love is myself. Whatever journey I go on, I want you right there with me"

Ember was completely lost in her light green eyes to focus on anything she was saying

There was an intensity building within her everytime she looked at her lovers. Something that was more than lust and more than passion. Her mind could never understand it but it wasn't built for the mind to understand in the first place

Her heart created a feeling only it could understand

It would start battles with every organ left in her body but they would lose in the end

For there was no stronger power than the heart when it came to love

"If you'll have me-"

Gabrielle's words were cut short by lips pressing down on her own. A kiss of flames that breathed all the more deeply for being closer together

Ember's lips trapped between her own as the girl's hands cupped the side of her neck, pulling her even closer

Their eyes drifted close as the warm feeling took over them both. Gently and slow, her lips wondered Gabrielle's own. Creating a feeling within two bodies by one singular touch

The girl's breathed deeply, feeling the pumping sensation of their hearts in their chest, throbbing at the intensity of their moment. Their legs turned to jello but their bodies craved it even more

Connected they were, mind, body and soul matched like a mirror of a playing card

it was then they shone brighter, both within and upon one another, becoming a source of light and love in the world, showering sparks of positive chaos into the dark

Ember didn't need to hear anything else the girl needed to say, she read the script in her eyes, knowing every word she wanted to say

But Ember's mind was already made up. She was ready to give her all into Gabrielle if it was the last thing she would do

She was worth it and after tonight, Ember knew what spot she held in Gabrielle's heart
