I really don't know what I'm saying but it is what it is
Let's get back to a thirsty ass hoe tryna get her way with a supposed straight girl
"This is weird, you know that right?" Fallon asked
"You say weird, I say trying to marry a girl that makes my heart run" Ember stated
"You're spying on her when you could simply go over there-"
"Shhh, I'm trying to listen" Ember hissed
The two friends were stationed behind a boulder, their fingers were the only thing visible at the top of the rock along with their eyes peaking over towards a familiar blonde that sat on the grass just a few feet away, taking shade under a tree
"All of this spying is making me hungry" Fallon groaned
"I just bought you pizz-"
"So!?"
"Oh for God sakes" Ember rolled her eyes before glancing them back over towards the girl
The girl was blonde from root to tip, born to bring more golden sunshine into this world with not only her smile, but with her voice. It showed too. It showed in those soulful golden eyes as bright as any gold yet so very warm
Ember could only see the girl from behind but the guitar in Gabrielle's hands were enough for her to imagine her expression. Those chords sang the language of the universe, those serenades that come to the heart in quietness and are born to us as a song. Ember could just imagine the passion written across Gabrielle's face
It was obvious that the blonde cared deeply about her music, she sung every song with such a grace that could only be achieved with practicing over and over. It was obvious that she tried day and night to make herself better, perhaps to defy the boundaries of everyone else and to push herself to limits that her parents might accept
She wanted to be more than good. She wanted to be the best
Maybe then her parents wouldn't see an amateur girl who gave up a career to sing on the streets for change and have a delusional mind that some random producer is going to walk up to her and hand her a record
She flipped her hair out into the light, a thousand shades of gold that made new mosaics each moment in the warm summer air. From afar you could say her straight hair was the colour of rich cream, but up close it was a chorus of hues, and Ember knew she would be addicted
Her voice filled the air without effort, like the waves filling holes in beach sand, the sound rushing in and around every person nearby making them stop and glance back to listen
Some react to the beat, others continue simply stood there and listened but all spoke to them in some manner
Before the notes filled the air every person was an island, with it they all felt the same tidal flows and the beginnings of togetherness feels warm
And the best part about it was Gabrielle wasn't even trying. It's was her simple warm up and tuning of her guitar, sounding almost inaudible yet it caught so much attention around her
It even took control of Ember's body like a genie, moving her out from behind that rock as she slowly walked towards the girl
"What are you doing!?" Fallon hissed as he watched his friend walk out
"My wallet is in my bag, buy something"
"Don't have to tell me twice" He chuckled, dipping down to grab the girl's bag
"But where will you be? you can't exactly leave your bodyguard behind there" the boy said, motioning his head towards a tall man that held his hand behind his back, leaning against a tree. His eyes was narrowed towards the two adults but they occasionally glanced around so people wouldn't find him suspicious
"Shooting my shot again"
"Oh for God sakes Ember!"
The brunette tried her best to not make a sound when coming close towards the singer that was laid out on her blanket with a half eaten rice Krispy by her side
Yet she seemed a bit nervous, which was confusing for her because Ember wasn't the type to be shy or intimidated by anyone
When it comes to the singer with such a soulful, smooth voice, she became weak to every limb in her body
"You know, you're so quiet" The blonde said, sensing that someone was standing behind her
"My bad, but I like to be loud" Ember said boldly, making her way around to sit by the girl's side
The blonde tilted her head back giving a small laugh before glancing over towards the girl on her left
"You're something else, you know that?"
"So I've been told" Ember grinned
"Are you stalking me again"
"And what if I said yes?" Ember questioned
"Well.... I guess I would have to say that I'm honored"
"As you should be" Ember said, making the girl laugh
"How was your meeting?"
"My what?"
"Your.. Meeting? The last time we talk, you said you had to go to a meeting"
"Oh- that. Um.. It was... Okay"
"Just okay?" Ember questioned
"Let's not talk about me, how was your... Business classes" Gabrielle smirked, changing the subject
"Oooh okay, I see. This is what it's turned to, you just teasing me about following behind the man"
"I can't help it. I want to know all about how the US government is scamming us all out of millions of dollars"
"Isn't that law?" Ember asked
"Oh..... LISTEN. I'M A BIT SLOW" Gabrielle snickered
"Oh my god" Ember laughed, clutching her chest
"Do. Not. Laugh. At. Me" Gabrielle pouted, playfully hitting the girl with a napkin
"That's adorable to be honest"
"I'm glad you find my failures adorable" Gabrielle groaned
"I find everything about you absolutely adorable" Ember mumbled, glancing over towards the girl
Gab's cheeks were immediately touched with another colour, the bright hues of red that flushed her skin
"You do?" She whispered
"Is it not obvious?" Ember questioned, daring herself to slide a bit closer towards the girl
"You still never told me much about yourself" The blonde said
"I don't have an interesting life" Ember shrugged
"I think you're just lying because you want to find out more about me" The blonde teased, turning to face the girl
Ember raised a brow at the fact that her face was now just a few inches away from the girl, it brought a coy smile on her face as she chuckled
"And what if that was true?" She asked
Gabrielle crinkled her brows together as she gave an expression that showed that she was in deep thought. The girl lightly tapped her fingertip against her chin as her eyes stared off into the distance
Ember's smile widened as bit at the sight, Gabrielle would clearly not see how adorable she looked since her pink button nose was scrunched up when she thought deeply about something. It was cute enough to bring a flutter to Ember's heart, making her smile and shake her head trying to put her attention on anything else before her heart goes into cardiac arrest from cuteness overload
"I got it" Gabrielle said, capturing the girl's attention again
"Mhm?" Ember hummed, propping herself on her elbows as she leaned backwards
"Let's okay two truths and a lie" Gabrielle grinned
"Oh my god" The girl chuckled
"Come on, it's the only way I'll get anything interesting out of you unless you'd like to return to your tax payer discussion?" Gabrielle smirked
The brunette bit her bottom lip nervously, trying to contain her smile as she glanced into those golden rays eyes of the singer, immediately feeling herself be pulled into a trance
"Fine, I'll agree to your little game. But only on one condition" Ember said making the girl raise a brow
"And what's that?" Gabrielle asked
"I'll have your full name" Ember smiled innocently
"You know... You could have just asked and I would have told you-"
"Wait WHAT"
"BUT DEAL. NO TAKE BACKS" Gabrielle chuckled
"What the- that's not fair!"
"You gave your condition sweetheart, and I accepted. Now let's start" Gab smirked
"Sweetheart? I see we're moving fast"
"Oh hush you" Gabrielle giggled
"Alright I'll go first. I'm 20 years old, I'm crushing hard on this blonde girl and she's lying about her sexuality because she wants to be chased. Then we have I'm a virgin" Ember smirked
Gabrielle playfully shot the girl a death glare
"We both know damn well that you're not a virgin" She said
"I mean, you don't know tha- WAIT. HOLD UP"
"MY TURN"
"WAIT-"
"My tuuurrnnn" Gabrielle giggled, trying to avoid the rest of that conversation that she knew she dug herself into
"I knew you weren't straight" Ember chuckled
"Maybe I am, maybe I'm not. You don't know that" Gabrielle chuckled
"Well, if I'm trying to make you mine then I'll have to know that sweetheart" Ember said, meeting the girl's eyes once again
Gabrielle's cheeks were coaxed with a colour blend of pink champagne and the favourite saturated rose of a Queen's garden, her eyes avoiding the brunette as she looked out towards those who walked by in the park
"And what makes you think you'll get me?" She asked
"I mean, have you seen me?" Ember questioned
"You see, that your problem right there"
"What is?"
"You're cocky. Some might admire your confidence but there's a difference between being confident and being cocky. You assumed I'd give you my number the first time we saw each other because your expect women to fall for your charms. You're coming after me because I rejected you and I continue to do so, you like that chase" Gabrielle mumbled, hooking her hands around the guitar strap and finding her way to her feet
Ember's brows furrowed when she had finally understood everything the girl said, confused as to what she was talking about
Yet she could understand why she would think so
But it wasn't Ember's intentions, Gabrielle surely wouldn't be another hook up like her past nor was she flirting just to get the girl in bed
But unfortunately Gabrielle was already walking away before the girl came to her senses
"You see, that's where you're wrong" Ember said, moving fast to catch up behind the girl
Gabrielle on the other hand had stopped in her tracks, furrowing her brows before spinning on her heels to face the girl
But she didn't expect to collide her chest onto Ember's
The girl's eyes widened when her back was pressed against the familiar tree behind her, Ember's hand pressed to the side of her face, trapping Gabrielle between her body and mirroring the same position they were in just a few days ago
Hot breath lingered on their lips, pushing and pulling between each other. Gabrielle lost herself in emerald green eyes, caramel radiated from each pupil as if it were a bright new sun, she let out a slow controlled breath and attempted to loosen her body movements. The steady breathing that she had, had in motion gave way to deeper puffs when she realized how close she was to Ember's pink lips, her face suddenly flushed
"I don't want just a hookup, but I would be lying if I said just truly knew what I wanted with you. But I do know that I want you, I want you so badly that it keeps me up at night just thinking about you. I just wished you didn't see me as someone that flirts just for sex. And I know this position isn't giving me the best reputation" Ember chuckled softly before biting her lip
A heavy feeling seemed to wash over the blonde despite the heat in her stomach from the feeling of being so close. She knew to herself she was too quick to judge, but it wasn't like she didn't have the reason not to. Despite it all, she felt guilty. Guilty for assuming the girl was after her for sex, but she could also be lying. It was a torn feeling that filled Gabrielle's body and she didn't know how to feel
Especially since she didn't know how to feel at the brunette holding her in place
"But I'm going to try until I earn your trust. I'm going to try until you fall for me" She whispered
Ember's green earthy hues then glanced down from the girl's golden eyes, there was something eternal about Gabrielle's lips as much as her eyes, for they too were a passing point of soulful communications
Though her lips were pretty, it was the thought of the feel of them that sent Ember's mind into a sensual state of intoxication
She reached toward to the girl's face to touch them lightly. Her fingers cupped the girl's chin and tilted her head up to face her better, she even felt the blonde's breath starting to become more heavy as she exhaled deeply against her fingers
Ember's thumb then stroked the girl's plump pink bottom lip, swiping over before slightly parting them, the urge to kiss her taking over
And Gabrielle would be lying if she said she didn't feel the exact same
"I like your lips, I'm going to kiss them someday"
