Winter is here.

My favorite, the hoodie season is here. Now I can wear those cute fuzzy socks with weird patterns on them, have hot cocoa without the need to cool it down and wrap myself in layers of comfy sweaters and blankets, sit near the fireplace and read a book with coffee in my hands. It's still mid November, but the weather outside is as chilly as a snowy Christmas morning.

My eyes take in the view from my window, watching the wind pick up, swaying the nearby trees as it blows away. How beautiful it all looks. I wish I could just chill in the backyard but unfortunately, I cannot. I get out of my warm bed, much to my dismay and decide to get ready for school since I have only thirty minutes left.

It doesn't take me long to take a shower, get ready and run downstairs. Quickly, I have breakfast and rush to school with Tanner and Em because apparently, Tanner woke up late today. I wonder why?

When we reach school, the first period has already started so we rush to our English class in a hurry, because the teacher might be good but she doesn't tolerate tardiness. And I don't detention today because Ridge has a race after school. And there's no way I'm gonna miss that.

"I swear I'm never gonna run in my life ever again!" Em huffs, running with me towards the classroom, "I'm already sweating, fuck."

Behind me, Tanner groans. Yes, he's walking slowly, because he's hungover. And he's sleep deprived. And he's tired. That's what he's been whining about all morning. Such a cry baby.

We reach our classroom and I open the door. And since the impact is more than I thought, it opens with a loud bang, capturing everyone's attention. Ms. Reynolds looks up from the book in her hand, her eyes slightly narrowed at us. "Look what we have here. Ms. Herrington, Ms. Jenner and of course Mr. Leeds."

"Good Morning Ms. Reynolds." Tanner mumbles, pushes past us and takes his usual place, next to Neil, which is straight at the back. Em nods at her and heads inside, followed by me. I take my usual seat, next to Ridge, who's eyes are shining with mirth.

I give him a smile, throwing my bag on his lap, "Hi honey."

His eyes widen in surprise, even more amusement visible in them but he doesn't say anything since Ms. Reynolds starts her lesson.

"Hey baby," Rigde whispers in my ear. I look to my side to see him smiling at the board. His eyes are at the front, but his attention is at me. I ignore him and try to concentrate on what she is teaching. I like English but I really need to pay attention to what she's teaching or else my grade will go down. And I really don't want that.

Someone pokes me with something pointed in the stomach, making me snap my neck to the side to see Ridge twirling a pen in his hand, a smirk playing on his lips. So that's how he wants to play?

I scoot a little away from him, so that there's a little space between us. Smiling triumphantly, I begin writing the notes. But of course, Ridge being Ridge, decides to irritate me more by shifting towards me, until our thighs are touching.

I feel another poke on my side, followed my him whispering in my ear, "Sweetheart, why do you look irritated?"

I put my pen down, rather harshly, before mustering up my best smile, "I feel like doing really bad things to you."

"I know we're in a classroom, but I'm still curious," He whispers against my ears, "what bad things?"

"I feel like breaking your fucking neck, Ridge. Stop irritating me." I mutter through gritted teeth, hoping my threat makes him stop but alas, the teacher decides to look at us right at that moment, removing her glasses.

"Mr. Meanders and Ms. Herrington, you two have detention after school. Hope to see you there." She declares, and without another glance, puts her glasses back on and turns to the board.

I feel someone tapping my shoulder from behind. Bruce's head pops between Ridge and I, "Are you guys playing footsie under the table?"

His question causes a laugh to bubble out of my throat. Ridge starts laughing as well, shaking his head. Bruce frowns, pouting. "I'm serious guys!"

"So am I, Mr. Cooper." Ms. Reynolds' voice comes from the front. She puts her book down and walks to our table. "I suggest that you three leave my class immediately.I don't want other students, who wish to study, get disturbed."

My eyes drift to the other students she's talking about. All of my friends are looking here, laughter shining in their eyes. Tanner ia actually begging me with his eyes, to take him with us. I shake my head, a warning glint in my eyes.

"But miss-"

"Butts are for ashtrays, Mr. Cooper, not for your petty excuses," she counters, crossing her arms across her front. "I don't like repeating myself. Out of my class now!"

Trying to contain my laughter, I get up from my seat and pick my bag. Ridge and Tanner follow closely. As soon as we are out of the class, we look at each other and start laughing uncontrollably. I lean against the wall to support myself from falling while Bruce and Ridge sit down on the floor, our laughter echoing in the empty hallway.

"Butts are for ashtrays, Mr. Cooper." Bruce mimics in a female's voice, which sounds totally ridiculous and fake, making me laugh more even after I had stopped a little.

"Damn, who pissed in her breakfast this morning?"

"Hey guys!" Tanner's amused voice comes from our side making us look at him in confusion. He strides out of the room, grinning to himself. "I am here to give you company."

"How?" I manage to ask through fits of laughter.

"I said that I wanted to take a piss, she said no. I begged so she asked me to stay out of the class after I'm done with my business." He shrugs his shoulders, sliding down next to Ridge and Bruce.

"Let me guess, you do not have to use the bathroom," Ridge chuckles, shaking his head.

"No, I just wanted a better company. She's such a bore," he laughs.

"Welcome to the team, brother," Bruce exclaims, giving him a high five.

"So, the plan is simple, I will faint, and then you will act like it happens a lot and I have to be taken to the ER, okay?" I ask Ridge for the tenth time today, who just nods, a cheesy smile on his face.

So apparently, Ms. Reynolds had an important teacher's meeting so she won't be present in the detention room, and instead, Mrs. Wilson will be there, to torture us for an hour. That's why we have come up with a plan to escape from hell, uninjured.

"I know I have to act like you're dying. I get it," He nods.

"Good, it's gonna be fun." I clap my hands together in excitement, a grin curling on my lips. I sound like a fanatic right now. We enter the room together to see Mrs. Wilson, perched up against the teacher's table, observing the few students scattered across the room.

Ridge clears his throat, a sour expression donning his face. She looks at us, giving us a glare. "Mr. Meanders, it's you again."

"Unfortunately," he mumbles under his breath, loud enough for me to hear. I cough, in order to cover the laugh threatening to escape from my mouth.

"Take this slip and then take a seat, away from each other." She orders, pointing towards the neat stack of papers lying on the table. I pass Ridge a knowing look, a signal that I'm about to put my plan to action.

I stagger back deliberately, my hands coming up to massage my head. My eyes close on accord, and I act like I'm about to fall down. I take a few steps back and fall down on the ground, like I just fell down from fainting.

Man, I feel like an accomplished actor right now.

A grin threats to curl at my lips but I refrain.

I feel Ridge crouching down beside me, taking hold of my face, "Lydia, baby, wake up. What's wrong? Wake up, wake up please." His voice comes out in hysterics as he shakes my shoulder again and again, a little too hard. I want to get up and slap the silly, fake expression off his face because he's making me want to laugh out loud but I refrain.

Because I'm supposed to be unconscious.

"What's wrong with her?" I hear Mrs. Wilson's voice asking Ridge. And I think that there's a hint of worry and concern in her tone.

"I don't know, maybe because of low blood pressure I guess. It has happened before," he tells her, his voice coming out frantic. Wow, he took this really seriously.

"Lydia, honey, I'll take you to the ER right now, hold on," he mumbles, his arms circling around my neck and coming around my knees to pick me up. Without wasting another second, he picks me up effortlessly and walks in the direction we came through.

Since my eyes are closed, I do not open them and just feel his ripped muscles under my fingertips. I run my fingers up and down his front, earning a groan from him. How satisfying it feels to be like this. Maybe I should faint more often then.

"You are supposed to be unconscious, babe," Ridge's amused voice reaches my ears. I open one eye, giving him a cheeky grin. He rolls his eyes at me, but there's a grin intact.

"This feels good. You should carry me like this more often," I murmur, notice that we've reached the school gates now. He chuckles and puts me down on my feet carefully.

"Mission successful," he gives me a tender kiss. I grin against his lips, wrapping my arms around his neck. We are kissing right in front of the school gates but it doesn't matter. We are grinning like fools, but I doesn't matter, because we are together.

I sigh against his lips, kissing them again softly.

I can never get enough of this.

Enough of him.

I pull away, threading my fingers through his overgrown hair, "You have a race today. Are you excited?"

A proud, shit eating grin lights up his face, "Of course I am. I haven't been back on the track for a while, so I'm really elated to go back."

"Well, I have a surprise for you tonight," I tell him, my eyes focusing on his expression as they change from excitement to utter confusion and curiosity. I had a little something planned for him. I've been working on it from the past few days, and hopefully all turns out well.

"Well, I'll be waiting for the surprise," he smirks. "But right now, we have to rush back home so that I get to see my surprise later on."

"Right, "I nod, laughing a little. We walk out of the school grounds, hand in hand.

"We still have to go to the ER honey," I tease, swinging our arms back and forth.

He stops suddenly, an alarming yet amusing look in his eyes, "We will never talk about my horrible acting even again."

"Sorry to burst your bubble but you're gonna get teased about it your whole life," I pinch his already red cheeks. "Lydia, baby, wake up!"

His eyes give me a deadly look which means I'm in trouble, so I step back and grin, "I better run before your inner beast shows itself."

I run away, laughing loudly, Ridge following behind, his footsteps getting closer. I laugh loudly, my hair whipping my face again and again, but I don't stop, even though I'm about to give up because I cannot stop laughing.

But alas, he catches up to me, caging me in his arms from behind. I feel him breathing down my neck, his voice coming out a little darker and huskier than usual, "I'm always gonna catch you, so don't bother running away, sweetheart."
