What do you mean?
Zhou Ru quickly realized what the other person meant; she felt they were implying her apology wasnât loud enough!
She felt as if her face had been thrown to the ground for everyone to trample on recklessly, her cheeks burning with humiliation, her heart bursting with frustration. Yet, she had no choice but to comply, âYes, Iâm, sorry!â
She really didnât want to say those three words again, so she took the initiative, âThis parent, it was my fault just now. I have reflected seriously, and our Liang Qing was indeed wrong. He shouldnât have yelled at the little friends in the kindergarten. When 1 get home, I will educate him properly with his dad. Can we consider this matter resolved?â
âIf you admit you were wrong, shouldnât you apologize first?â Li Beijue glanced at the withering Liang Qing, then at Chi Jingchen sitting on the sofa.
âYouââ Zhou Ruâs face turned color.
She thought it was fine if she was mistreated, but why should her child suffer the same?
However, having just been chastised, she dared not be confrontational. She could only force a laugh, saying, âThis parent, itâs normal for children to roughhouse. Letâs not make it so formal. Itâs not good for the kids. Itâs inevitable for them to have little bumps and bruises. They still have to go to kindergarten together. If we make their relationship too tense, wouldnât that be uncomfortable for them in the same kindergarten?â
âWho said they will be in the same kindergarten in the future?â Li Beijueâs falcon-like eyes turned colder, giving no quarter.
Zhou Ru didnât understand what he meant, but her instincts told her not to ask further or she would only make a fool of herself. Reluctantly as it may be, she had to lower her head in the face of the situation.
She squatted in front of Liang Qing, coaxing the little tyrant with sweet words, âSon, will you apologize to Chi Jingchen for me?â
âI wonât!â Liang Qing brushed off her hand without crying now, whimpering instead, âMom, didnât you come to scold him for me? Why are you helping him now? Are you even my mother? I want Grandma!â
âLiang Qing, be good!â Zhou Ru was full of indignation, already feeling wronged herself. Liang Qingâs tantrum instantly ignited her anger again.
Who did Liang Qing think he was? He never feared anyone at home, where everyone revolved around him. In his worldview, as long as he cried and made a fuss, there was nothing he couldnât get his way with. Just like when he was sick and the hateful doctor said he couldnât have ice cream. When they passed by KFC and he cried for ice cream, in the end, he always got it. So, he believed it would be the same this time; if he had not achieved his goal, it was because he hadnât thrown a big enough tantrum. He just needed to make a bigger scene and his mother would surely cave in.
He burst into tears immediately, âWuwu⦠I wonât apologize! Mom, he hit me! You have to hit him back for me! If not, hold him so I can hit!â
Li Beijueâs expression grew even colder.
âStop crying!â Zhou Ru was annoyed herself, and hearing him cry again only exacerbated it. After all, wasnât it because of him that she was humiliated today? Why couldnât he listen just once?
âWuwu⦠I want Grandma⦠I want Dad⦠Grandma, save me⦠Grandma⦠wuwuâ¦â He cried breathlessly.
Zhou Ru was angry yet heartbroken, with an indescribable sense of irritation. She grabbed Liang Qingâs shoulders with both hands, trying to calm herself down, âStop crying. Tell me honestly, were you the one who started the name-calling?â
âI want Dad⦠Dadâ¦.â
