I used to love Fridays, since that would mean that I would get two days away from school, and I could spend the whole weekend with my friends. But I still can't do that.
I sit in my room, watching as Gizmo rubs himself against my feet, my walkie talkie buzzing to life.
"Sallyyyyyy, come hang out with us! Pleaseeee, Phillip is even here!" Larry cries through the walkie talkie, the sound making Gizmo look up, his ears perking up.
I reach over and pick up the walkie talkie, waiting a moment before responding. "I don't feel good."
"You say that everytime! If you don't come down here... We'll just bring the party to you!!!" Larry cheers, and I shut off the walkie talkie, sliding out of bed with a groan.
~~~
"I was hanging out with Gizmo." I grumble as I step into Larry's room, everyone except Phillip cheering when I enter.
"Gizmo needs time away from you. He told me that personally." Larry grins as Ash wraps an arm around me, hugging me close.
"I seriously hate you guys sometimes." I roll my eye, and Larry only laughs.
"No you don't! Besides, you need your best bud right now! And that's me!" He points at himself with both of his thumbs, his smile managing to grow wider.
I glance at Phillip, and he manages a small smile. "If I can show up, then you can show up." He chimes in.
"See!! If you really don't want to be down here, you can always go back upstairs." Larry shrugs, walking towards the box of pizza on the floor, bending down and picking up a slice.
Part of me wanted to stay. Another part wanted to leave because I felt like a burden. I felt like I was just ruining the mood.
But, the longer I ended up staying, the more I managed to feel like myself again. Even Phillip looked like he was having a bit of fun.
That was until Lisa popped her head inside. "What are you guys doing?"
Larry pauses, turning his head to look at his mom. "What do you mean?"
"If you aren't doing anything right now, I think you should come see this." She disappears, leaving the door open for us to follow.
We all walk out of his room, gathering around the tv where Lisa was standing.
"Good evening Nockfell! This is Megan Holmes, and tonight we have an interesting update on the suicide of Travis Phelps."
My heart stops.
"I can't go into all the details, but just yesterday afternoon, the police at the Nockfell station brought in Kenneth Phelps for questioning on his son's death.
Kenneth is currently still located at the station, and from what I've been told, he is going to be going to court for many years of abuse against his son and wife, and possibly two cases of voluntary manslaughter!"
No way.
My head turns to look at Larry, and he meets my gaze, a shocked look on his face.
"You did it, Sal."
I couldn't hear anything else the news reporter was saying. I heard all I needed to hear.
Larry grabs me by my shoulders and pulls me towards him, hugging me tight.
My arms slowly wrap around his body, returning the hug, before I feel everyone else turning the hug into a giant group hug.
It was weird, but part of me didn't actually mind it.
If everything goes right, Travis and his mother will be able to rest in peace, knowing that Kenneth finally got what he deserved.
He better rot in prison for what he did to them.
I can only imagine the shock on everyone else's face. Probably thinking some stupid shit like, Kenneth would never do that!
Just because that monster is a fucking priest, doesn't mean he isn't a wolf in sheep's clothing.
Everyone will finally see the piece of shit that Kenneth really is.
He'll finally feel the same pain that he put Travis and his mom through for all those years.
I wonder if you're happy up there.
(I know this one is really short, but I think it works, so you guys can uhhhh... Deal with it!!)
