Mermaid is an aquatic creature with the head and upper body of a female and a tail of a fish. Sometimes are associated with eventâs like floods, storms, shipwrecks and drowning. Though they can be benevolent or beneficial.
Merman has the upper body of a man and tail of a fish. Sightings of Mermen are less common, they co-exist with their female counter parts.
Together they may be referred to as merfolk or Merpeople.
