Chapter Twenty-One|| Bipolar Bitch
"Do you remember what you were doing on that side of town, Miss. Collins?" Officer Thomson asked with a raised eyebrow.
I hadn't seen Sam at all, I didn't know what he had told the police, and I didn't know what I was supposed to do, so basically, I was fucked.
"Uh, yeah, I was going to Jc Penny to get these really nice shoes," I said, trying to sound as casual as possible.
"Did you happen to see the shooter?" He asked again.
"Nope," I said as I shrugged my shoulders, "I never saw anyone."
The officer wrote down on his notepad and furrowed his eyebrows.
"It could have been a wild shot, Thomson, from the guy who shot that other kid in room 203, it was around the same time," The other police guy said.
I raised my eyebrows. "Some other kid was shot?"
Officer Thomson nodded, "Yeah, I think his name was Israel? Ismael? Islam?-"
"Isaiah!" The other cop exclaimed.
My blood ran cold and my eyes widened.
Isaiah had gotten shot?
"Is he okay?" I questioned, I fought the ball that was rising in my throat.
"Oh, no, the boy died," Officer Thomson said as he stood up, "Before he even got the the hospital, actually, he lost a lot of blood."
"D-Did you catch the man responsible?"
Officer Riley shook his head. "No such luck, there were no finger pr-"
Officer Thomson slapped the back of his head. "It's an open case, dipshit, you just don't go blurting it out."
"Have a nice recovery Miss, we'll inform your family if we have any suspects!" Officer Riley informed as he rubbed the back of his head. Then they both exited the room, leaving me alone.
My father had left for work, my brother was at school and my mother had taken the day off but was downstairs getting me some soup.
I felt tears run down my cheeks. I couldn't believe it.
"You know, most people stay at home, avoid trouble, but you just can't help it, can you?"
I turned to the door and spotted Sam, playing with his keys.
"Isaiah is dead," I said, only loud enough for him to hear.
Sam sighed and sat next to me. "A simple hey would have been appreciated."
"Did you not hear what I just said?"
He winced. "I know, I'm going to go kill that son of a bitch, his death won't be in vain."
I shook my head furiously and snatched the keys from his hand. "You're not going anywhere, Death told me-"
"Death?"
"Yeah, asshat, Death told me that I had to stop you from dying so he didn't have to do extra paper work, that's why he let me live! Then the purple teddy bear-"
"You're not making any sense, Sawyer," he said with raised eyebrows.
I sighed. "Just promise me you won't go after him," I mumbled.
"I'm sorry, but I can't promise that," he stated.
My blood started to boil and I started to punch him, ignoring how much my wound stung. Yeah, I was a bipolar bitch, bite me.
"I wish I had never met you," I spat, "If I hadn't, Isaiah would still be alive and I wouldn't be in this stupid hospital bed!"
Sam said nothing, he stared at me emotionless as I finally got tired of hitting him.
"Alright," he finally broke the silence, "If you really feel that way-"
"I do, you should just fucking disappear," I growled, instantly regretting the harsh words.
He nodded and stood up. "I'm going to find Coen," he simply said as he excited the door.
"Stop crying, you fucking pussy," I uttered to myself as I angrily wiped my tears, "He'll be alright."
"Honey! Look what I found in the gift sho- I forgot your soup, fuck- are you okay, baby?"
I let out a gust of air and nodded. "Yeah, mom, I'm fine."
â¢â¢â¢
Sam
"You've arrived to your destination," my phone blurted out. A cheap motel. Really original, Coen.
"I've deactivated all security camera's, he's in room 204," Kyle said. He was like me in a way, a fucking imbecile who had gotten pulled into something he didn't want.
He had learned to hack into a fuck load of stuff when he was a teen, now he was 28 and was looking for an out, which is why he agreed with me killing Coen.
"How did you even find him?" I asked as I loaded my pistol.
He shook his head and chuckled. "The fucking idiot left his Location Services on."
I smiled. "I won't take long," I said as I excited the car.
I walked over to room 204 and jiggled the knob, expecting the door to be locked. The door opened without a fight.
Why the fuck was he making it so easy?
"Don't move, boy," I heard Coen's low voice, "Shut the door."
I closed the door without hesitation and switched on the lights.
He was sitting on one of the beds, pointing a gun right at me.
"I've been waiting for you, how's your girlfriend?" He asked as a smirk took over his face.
"Fine," I spat venomously.
"You know why I made myself so easy to find?" He question as he slowly moved the gun's muzzle onto his temple.
I didn't answer, hoping he would understand that I didn't give a single shit, but he took my silence as an encouragement to keep talking.
"I wanted someone to be here with me when I committed suicide. There's nothing left for me, son, no wife, no kids to go home to-"
I quickly snatched the gun from his hand and shot him myself.
"You were taking too long," I muttered as I wiped the gun to get my prints off it.
I set it in his hand and quickly grabbed pen and paper from the bedside table.
I killed Isaiah.
I scribbled messily. I shook my head. This asshole probably didn't even know his name.
I wiped the pen as well and set it on next to the note.
"Have fun in hell!" I muttered and made my way to the car.
"How'd it go?" Kyle asked as I opened the driver's door.
"Could've been better," I uttered plainly.
"What are you going to do now that you're free?"
I shrugged and started the car. "Probably go to school, do my homework and argue wit my parents like any other teen."
"Fall in love," he added with a giddy smile.
"No, Kyle, that one is not on the list," I whispered as Sawyer's words echoed in my head, "Let's get the fuck out of here."
