Liliane dialed Bradleyâs number, and he answered.
âBrad, what are you doing?â Liliane asked.
Bradley glanced at Esther in the psychologistâs office and casually replied, âAnything important?â
âWhy canât I reach Felix on his smartwatch?â Lilianeâs conversations with Bradley always revolved around Felix. It seemed that besides Felix, they had no other topics. âIs he mad at me?â
Bradley cleared his throat and coldly replied, âNo, Felix is at kindergarten.â
Liliane was shocked and questioned in astonishment, âWhy is Felix at kindergarten? Why didnât you tell me?â
A sense of control slipping away began to emerge within Liliane.
No! She couldnât stay in the hospital any longer.
Impatience tinged Bradleyâs distant tone as he coldly asked, âFelix is growing up. Why canât he go to kindergarten?â
Liliane felt her previous tone was inappropriate and quickly rectified, âThatâs not what I meant. Iâm just worried about his health. What if he catches an illness at kindergarten?â
âYou donât need to worry about Felix. Take care of your own healthâ¦â
Xara opened the door and said, âMr. Warner, Mrs. Warner has awakened.â
Upon hearing âMrs. Warnerâ from the other end of the line and thinking of Bradley being with that woman, Esther, Liliane was infuriated. She threw her phone against the wall, causing it to shatter into pieces.
Her already fragile heart became even weaker, unable to bear such a burden.
Lilianeâs vision went black, and she collapsed onto the hospital bed.
âDoctor! Ms. Anstey fainted!â
Bradley ended the call with Liliane in a cold manner before entering the room with an elegant stride.â
Esther was seated on the couch, gently sipping honey lemon tea from a mug. Like a serene sea, the mildly sweet beverage brought a sense of calmness.
âEsther,â Bradley called out.
Estherâs starry eyes shifted to Bradleyâs handsome face.
An inexplicable nervousness enveloped Bradley, his entire body tense.
âMr. Warner, please have a seat.â Xara gestured for Bradley to join them.
Bradley naturally sat beside Esther, reaching out his broad palm to hold her small hand firmly.
Esther slowly withdrew her hand, but Bradley refused to let go. He tightly grasped her hand.
âDarling, letâs get a divorce,â Esther uttered.
Bradleyâs eyes filled with anger upon hearing Estherâs words. He stared at her with a cold gaze, asking through his gritted teeth, âEsther, repeat what you just said!â
27 As tears streamed down Estherâs bright eyes and fell onto the back of Bradleyâs hand, they felt scorching and painful, like fire burning at the core of his heart.
âWhat more do you want from me? Tell me! My father knelt before me, begging me to leave you for Liliane! Divorce seems to be the only solution I can think of.â
