âMr. Warner, I⦠I really canât stop him.â
Bradley nodded and coldly asked, âYes, Mr. Searle?â
Jasper dashed to Bradley and grabbed his collar to punch him without a word.
Bradley was well-trained and would never give Jasper a chance to hit him. He caught the latterâs fist and mocked him. âMr. Searle, are you being angry over a woman?â
Jasper lifted his leg to kick Bradley, and the two men started to fight.
The brawl went on for over ten minutes. No one got the best of the other one, and the office was a mess.
âJasper, are you done!?â
Bradley glowered and shoved away Jasper, who was like an enraged lion. He slowly wiped the blood on the corner of his lips with his hand.
âFor a wh-â
Jasper did not wait for Bradley to finish, interrupting stiffly, âEstherâs daughter is dead! Bradley Warner, thatâs your daughter, too!â
Bradley snickered. âJasper Searle, Estherâs child could be any manâs kid but never mine.â
âYouâre a ruthless man!â Jasperâs forehead was wounded. âHow could you be so ruthless to a woman whoâs liked you since she was 16!? Estherâs liked you since she was 16-her diary, her dream, her everything was about you, Warner. Tell me, how could a woman who held you so dearly in her heart possibly betray you?â
Bradley walked to his chair and sat down, crossing his legs elegantly.
âWhat are you getting at, Searle? That the video clip was made up?â
Jasper slammed two hands on the marble table in front of Bradley and said through gritted teeth, â
Face-changing AI technologyâs so developed now. Why is it so impossible?â
Bradley raised his brow and answered flatly, âYou wouldnât think that I didnât verify whether the clip is real or not? My grandfather got into an accident because of that clip. I found the culprit a long time.
ago. Do you know why Esther was in that room? Because the person she wanted to set up was me.
But she was caught in it herself in the end.â
âThatâs impossible!â Jasper refuted swiftly, âEsther wouldnât do something like that. Warner, youâll pay the price for your arrogance one day.â
With that, Jasper turned to leave but turned around again when he got to the door. He looked at Bradley, who had got back to work.
âBradley Warner, do you know why Mr. Thomas insisted you marry Esther?â
Bradley looked up aloofly and asked, âYou do?â
Jasper was quiet for a moment before he replied slowly, âI do. But you donât deserve to know the reason now. You donât deserve Estherâs open and pure love for you.â
He left after saying that.
As Bradley held the pen in his hand, his thoughts were completely disrupted because of what Jasper said.
Why did his grandfather urge him to marry Esther? What was the reason?
Bradley picked up his jacket and went back to Warner Manor, entering Thomasâ study room straightaway.
Clark, the butler who had always served Thomas, was cleaning the his belongings. He asked in surprise when he saw Bradley walk in, âMr. Bradley, what can I help you with?â
âClark, why did my grandfather insist I marry Esther?â
Clark quietly picked up a book from the bookshelf and passed him a yellowed photo.
When Bradley took it, he recognized that the boy in the photo was him at a glance but had no impression of the girl.
âWhoâs this girl?â
