Clark drove to the location provided by the bald detective and met up with the other two half an hour later.
âRecount everything to Clark.â
The undercover lackey didnât hold back and explained, âI donât have the exact location, but I heard from someone that Shane has people waiting outside the wedding venue. They planned to capture Esther as soon as she appeared.â
Anxiously, Clark asked, âDo you know where theyâre taking her?â
âI donât.â The lackey scratched his head, âBut I know they failed to get Estherâs heart during the last car accident. Itâs likely theyâre kidnapping her this time for her heart.â
Clark felt deep concern. Finding a person without a specific lead in the city would be difficult. The bald detective spoke in a deep voice. âLet me check if I can track her through the surveillance system.â
âOkay.â
The bald detective opened his laptop, swiftly typing on the keyboard. He needed to find the surveillance footage from outside the hotel as quickly as possible.
Clark and the lackey stared at the screen, filled with a dizzying array of real-time surveillance images.
The bald detective rewound the videos, hoping to spot Esther.
Unfortunately, the bald detective was one step too late. Bradleyâs team had already copied and deleted the surveillance footage of the men in black kidnapping Esther. The bald detective came up empty-
handed.
âTheyâre well-prepared, and the surveillance footage is missing,â the bald detective.
frustratingly reported. He absentmindedly rubbed his smooth, bald head, emitting a long sigh before continuing to search nearby surveillance cameras for any clue.
Clark pulled the lackey aside and asked, âCan you find the person who provided this information? We can negotiate a price.â
The lackey helplessly replied, wearing a bitter expression, âSir, I want to ask, but I genuinely dare not. If weâre discovered, weâll all be in trouble.â
âGive it a try.â Clark couldnât rely solely on the bald detective-he needed the lackey to make one more effort.
The lackey took out his phone, about to make a call, when the bald detective interrupted, â Clark, Iâve got a lead.â
Clark and the lackey leaned in, and the bald detective pointed at a van in the surveillance footage, saying confidently, âI compared all the cars in the parking lot, and only this van seems the most suspiciousâ¦â
â
At the same time, Bradley was also watching the surveillance footage on his tablet in the backseat of his car.
In the footage, two men in black suits approached Esther and Felix from behind, covering their mouths and noses as they were about to enter the venue. The men forcefully dragged them toward the van and threw them inside.
One of the men noticed the smartwatch on Felixâs wrist and roughly tore it off, carelessly throwing it into nearby greenery.
âHave you traced the final route of the van?â Bradley asked.
The bodyguard in the front seat replied, âMr. Warner, we discovered that when the van passed through an underground tunnel, four identical vans with the same license plates and models appeared out of nowhere. They left the tunnel and dispersed in different directions.â
Bradley smirked. âInteresting!â
These people knew Esther was his wife, yet they dared to target him like this?
What did that mean? It meant they werenât afraid of him.
Bradley was furious.
He took out his phone and made a call, his tone terrifyingly cold, âThis is Bradley Warner. M wife and son have been kidnappedâ¦â
Bradley had received a proper education since childhood and had always been reluctant to us his connections. Perhaps his harmless appearance made people think he was a harmless ca
