Bradley had never imagined that he and Esther had crossed paths 20 years ago.
Clark did not say anything and just looked at him in silence.
Bradley stood up. The moment he left the study, he pulled out his phone to call Jasper.
âJasper, which hospital is Esther in?â
Jasper sat next to Esther in Peopleâs Hospital ward with the injuries he suffered from his brawl with Bradley.
When he saw the incoming call on his screen, he answered it and slowly walked to the balcony.
âMr. Warner, as you wish, Estherâs half dead now. If you come now, you might be in time to collect her corpse.â
Jasperâs tone was menacing and mocking.
Bradley hung up without a word and called Cole.
âCole, which hospital is Esther in?â
âPeopleâs Hospital.â
By the time Bradley drove to the junction in front of Peopleâs Hospital, he received Lilianeâs call.
âBrad, Felixâs awake! Felix woke up!â
Bradley, who had planned to see Esther, asked his chauffeur to turn to the Warner Groupâs private hospital without hesitation when he received Lilianeâs call.
Jasper stood on the balcony and took a deep breath before returning to Estherâs side.
Esther, who was on the bed, cried in her dream.
Jasper patted her arm and called out softly, âEsther. Esther, wake upâ¦â
Esther was startled awake from her nightmare. She looked at Jasper in tears and sobbed. âJasper, I had such a scary nightmare. I dreamed that Tinkerbell died.â
Jasper turned away quietly when he heard that so Esther would not see his reddened eyes.
Esther immediately recognized that Tinkerbellâs death was not a dream from his reaction.
Her daughter⦠Her daughter, whom she had yet to reunite with, had died right before her eyes.
âEsther, I know that Tinkerbellâs death is hard to accept, but it has already happened. We have to be brave and look forward.
âTinkerbell isnât with us anymore, but Pixie is still here. Iâll look for her with you and recompense everything Tinkerbell didnât get to have to her.
âAnd Tinkerbell grew up in the welfare home. She never got to know what a princess life is like. Esther, if that incident didnât happen, Tinkerbell would have been the apple of your and Bradleyâs eyes.
âWe should give her a nice funeral now and let her say goodbye to this world like a princess.â
When Esther heard that, an unprecedented feeling of hatred shot up from the bottom of her heart.
She pulled the IV drip off her wrist in front of Jasper, not caring that blood was dripping to the floor from where she was pierced with the needle.
She ran barefoot toward the morgue.
âEsther!â
Jasper gave chase and saw Esther finding Tinkerbell in the morgue. She did not care that the staff was stopping her as she forcefully hugged Tinkerbell in her arms.
âJasper, I want to see Bradley. I want to prove to him that Tinkerbellâs really his daughter!â
