There was some truth in what Liliane had said. Esther truly felt pathetic. Putting herself and her children in danger repeatedly for a man who didnât love her.
Bradley Warner was her downfall. She couldnât avoid or escape it, but why did her children have to suffer? What had her children done wrong?
Estherâs actions enraged Bradley, and without hesitation, he forcefully grabbed her wrist and pulled her out of the ward. He pushed open the door of an empty ward and roughly threw her onto the bed.
âWhatâs gotten into you, Bradley?â Estherâs fear instinctively rose as she looked at his bloodshot eyes and volatile emotions.
âYou pretended to lose your memory just to seduce me, didnât you!?â Bradley grabbed Estherâs chin and hastily kissed her cool lips.
Esther felt trapped by the chilling aura emanating from him. She struggled in Bradleyâs embrace, feeling both anxious and angry, but her strength was useless against his absolute power.
Fiercely, Esther bit Bradleyâs lips, drawing crimson blood.
âAre you insane, Bradley?â
Bradley gripped Estherâs chin, forcing her to meet his bloodshot eyes filled with torrents of hatred.
Esther trembled in fear.
âEsther, Felix is dead. Iâll give you another son-â
Estherâs slap across Bradleyâs face was firm and resounding.
âFelix is irreplaceable, Bradley! No one can take his place!â
Esther never imagined Bradley would entertain such a deranged idea. She feared he might actually act upon this madness someday.
âAll I want is my Felix! If you can, dry up the entire ocean and find Felix for me!â Esther closed her eyes tightly, suppressing her feelings of powerlessness and fear.
When she opened her eyes again, her determination and presence were stronger. âIf you canât do it, then donât stop me from finding Felix.â
Even if the whole world claimed Felix was dead, Esther refused to believe it. She firmly believed her Felix was alive.
âEsther, Felix is dead.â Bradleyâs voice was hoarse, filled with extreme grief, as he thought of the shoe he found in the sea. âHeâs dead.â
Esther looked into Bradleyâs deep, cold eyes and corrected him, word by word, âBradley, Felix is only missing! Heâs still waiting for me to find himâto save him!â
