"What?" I say fidgeting with my dress. ^^

"Seriously. I know you Bree. I know that you fidget with the hem of your shirt when your nervous. I also know that you fidget with your nails, or chew at your lip. Your tongue comes out of the corner of your mouth when you are concentrating. And, I know that when you don't want to say something, you look at everything but me. So I'll ask again...what's wrong?"  He says turning to look at me and this time I can't avoid his eyes.

"I'll tell you if-"

"Remember the deal..." He reminds me.

"God I know, now shush and listen." I hush him. "I'll tell you if you don't go all psycho on me."

He sighs, "your scaring me, but fine, what is it?"

"Creepy ass texts." I reply and show him the two that I didn't delete. His usual masked expression dissolves and his face is full of confusion.

"It's not that bad, it'll be ok." He says handing my phone back. "But who's this hot Hunter you were texting about to Maya?"

"You are unbelievable." I shake my head in embarrassment. I might've spoken about Hunter a few times...

"You didn't answer my question!" He yells after me as I run out of the car and into the restaurant, flipping him off.

Before I know it, I trip over the little step to enter the door, but someone catches my shoulders, pulling me upright.

"Before you flip me off, you should watch where you're stepping so you don't wreck your face." A deep voice says, belonging to Hunter.

"Mm sure. But thanks." I say, continuing to walk. The restaurant is quite trendy actually, with lights and plants decorating the large open space. It gives me holiday resort vibes.

I see our group sitting at a long table, so I join them, sitting beside Maya and across from Ruby. Hunter sits beside me, next to Caleb, across from Bryan. And of course Georgia, next to my brother.

"What would you all like?" The waiter comes over after a while of us studying the menus.

I choose the Phat si-io, which is flat noodles, veggies, chicken and some kind of sauce.

"Do you have milkshakes?" Hunter asks. The waiter looks at him like he just ordered a bowl of type 1 diabetes.

"Its a fucking thai restaurant you idiot." I laugh at him.

"Oh yeah, well I'll have a coke then." He says. This guy...

"Thankyou." Ruby says once everyone's ordered.

"I'm going to the bathroom." I stand up and find the ladies room. I do my business then begin washing my hands.

Before I can leave, a cold and surprisingly strong hand grabs my wrist, digging their long...acrylic nails into my skin. This isn't a guy...

They twist my wrist to the back of my torso, and I whimper out in pain, spinning around to see who it is. Georgia...

"Stay away from Hunter." She hisses into my ear, pushing her nails deeper. Why would she do all this shit just for a guy. Obviously there's more to it, but all I can think is what else is she going to do.

As her mouth is near my ear, I take the chance to kick her hard in the shins, and she stumbles backwards in her stupid ass heels, letting go of my wrist. She hisses in pain grabbing her now-red leg.

"You stay away from me." I say as strong as I can, the throbbing pain in my wrist sparking tears in my eyes. I hold them back, showing a strong facade.

"If you tell anyone of this, I know someone who will kill you and your little crush." She growls at me, her eyes dark and....psychotic. I run out of the room as fast as I can, grasping my wrist, willing the pain to stop.

Just before I enter the room where the tables are, I slow down to walk and let go of my hand. No one can know what she did in there, or she would really hurt me and Hunter. What about Bryan? What if she does something to him?

No she wouldn't, I think she genuinely likes him.

But she wants Hunter so she mustn't want my brother. That could be trouble...

"The food's here." Hunter says to me as I sit back down. "Why did you take so long?"

"Oh there was a line." I lie, holding my wrist underneath the table. I can start to make out little crescents where Georgia's nails dug in. I flinch when she takes her seat, giving me a subtle death glare.

Between the texts and now Georgia, this is too much. But what could anyone do about it? There's no point in telling anyone because it'll make matters worse.

Whilst eating, Hunter places his hand on my thigh, noticing how stiff I look. I give him a strained smile.

"You ok?" He whispers and I am tempted to spill all my troubles. We have a deal anyway, but as I look up to meet Georgia's murderous glare I realise it is better to break the promise than risk more danger.

"Yep." I choke out, suddenly breathless, and look back down at my almost un-touched food.

"I'm done." I say, not bothering to finish my meal. That bitch made me lose my appetite.

"You've barely touched your food." Maya says.

"I'm not really hungry." I reply, barely audible.

"You're a bad liar." Hunter leans into my ear.

"Can we go please?" I beg, needing an escape from this hell. "I uh don't feel too well."

"Um yeah sure." Hunter stands up, and I follow. I discreetly say bye to my friends, not making a big deal, and let out a breath I didn't even know I was holding. At least I'm away from her.

"Do you wanna go home?" He asks. Do I?

"Yeah, please." I reply. At least mum's home now. But it won't be long until she goes back to work or goes away for work. I fold my arms, hiding my wrist from sight.

"What's wrong, you never fold your arms." Why is he always paying such close attention?

"Oh I'm just kinda cold." I lie, again.

"Here," He grabs a hoodie from the backseat.

"Now I have 2 of your hoodies." I smile.

"Well if you wanna keep it, then yeah." He smiles, but keeps his eyes on the road.

"Why are you always concentrating so much when you drive?" I ask. Although he drives fast, he isn't careless about it, which I kind of expected.

"My dad died in a car accident." He replies simply and my heart breaks even more. I'm really just falling apart aren't I?

"That's sad, I'm sor-"

"Don't apologise." He cuts me off.

"Ok you're home." He says after a while of awkward silence.

"Thanks." I pass his hoodie back.

After a while of thinking, I realise if what Georgia's saying is true then I should keep my distance from Hunter for his safety. Even if it's hard.

"Rest up B." He smiles.

As I walk to the house, watching Hunter drive off, I fight the temptation to run back to him and beg him to stay, fighting back tears of longing.

At the door I let my tears escape, sliding down onto the front step, weak and scared. I need Hunter right now, but I'm in this situation and I can either deal with it myself or risk his safety. Although it's harder, I know which choice is going to be better.

I find it harder to breathe after a while, my sobs shaking my body, so I take a few deep breaths and tell myself that it couldn't get worse, I've been through the hard part.

right?
