Chapter 506 A group of women walked over to them. They were the female designers whom Derek had sent away.
At this moment, he patted Natalie on the shoulder and introduced her to everyone. Sheâs from W Marks Studio that had created the grand finale at Iridescent Show.â
In an instant, about a dozen pairs of eyes shifted to Natalie. They looked at her from head to toe and realized something.
âThe video of their new collection on Iridescent Show went viral. I didnât expect that W Marks would ask such a young lady to represent them.â
Everyone stared at Natalie with a look of admiration.
âWow. You were able to join W Marks at such a young age. Youâre truly incredible.â
Everyone in the model circle knew Draco, so they were all in awe of Natalie.
While they were chatting happily with Natalie, a woman walked over from behind them.
âSheâs still young, but she managed to take part in Iridescent Show on Dracoâs behalf. She must have a very good relationship with him,â she said with a mysterious smile.
Everyone turned around to look at the woman. She had shoulder-length red hair. What was more, her black dress was fitted, emphasizing her hourglassfigure. She was gorgeous.
âMiss Jimenez, youâre here too!â one of the models said. She then turned to everyone and introduced the newcomer to them. âThis is Kathie Jimenez from Gem Studio. Sheâs also a designer.â
For some reason, Natalie had a feeling that Kathie was not as nice as she looked. Not only that, but she also thought that Kathie looked familiar.
Natalie just could not remember where she had seen Kathie before.
âIâm Mr. Wesleyâs assistant designer. He had some emergencies to deal with and couldnât come here in person, so he asked me to attend the show on his behalf.â Kathie lowered her head and leisurely took a sip of her red wine. âReally? Thatâs not what I heard. Most models and designers here come from abroad, so naturally they had no idea what really happened. According to my friends from Barnes, youâre actually an expert at hooking up with your superiors. She was actually denied entry to the show, but then she hooked up with Derek at the entrance and managed to get in.â
Natalie stared at Kathie in disbelief. All of a sudden, it dawned on her where she had seen Kathieâs name before.
Gem Studio, the company Kathie was working for, was the standby team for Iridescent Show.
No wonder she was resentful.
Something had happened to Draco just before the show, so Kathie must have assumed that her studio could finally take part in the show. However, just as the show was about to start, Natalie arrived. As a result, Gem Studio, the company where Kathie was working, could no longer participate in Iridescent Show.
âI know you. Youâre from Gem Studio, the standby team of W Marks. I didnât expect that you could still come to this party even if you werenât part of the show. I thought only those who had attended the show were invited.â
âHow bold of you to say that. Youâre incompetent, so you rely on seducing men to get promoted. How dare you talk to me like that?â Kathie scoffed.
What Natalie had just said touched Kathieâs sore spot.
âIâm sorry. You guys continue your conversation. Iâlljust...â Derek stood up to leave. But when he brushed past Kathie, he âaccidentallyâ spilled his wine on her dress.
âOops. Iâm so sorry. I didnât mean to do that. Itâs just that my wine seems to like your dress so much that it wants some physical contact,â he apologetically said, but the smile on his face said otherwise.
âDerek! You...â Kathie sent Derek a glare.
âWhat?â With a chilly expression on his face, Derek looked at her.
Kathie lacked the courage to really do anything to Derek. She was aware that his family was influential and that he was a world-renowned supermodel.
Eventually, Kathie gritted her teeth and stormed out, her black dress splattered with red wine.
Derek gave the server his empty glassand left. The pool glistened with the moonâs light. Natalie grabbed her belongings and followed Derek. âI knew that you deliberately caused trouble.â
Derek paused to give her a sideways glance. Light cast a shadow just between his brows. Derekâs eyes had a playful expression. âSo what? Do you have a problem with that?â
âItâs just... No gentleman should do that.â Natalieâs expression was mildly displeased, yet her voice was soft. Derek pursed his lips. âIâm not much of a gentleman. Kathieâs extreme noise ruined the mood of our party. She had to leave.â
Natalie exhaled, acknowledging that Derek was not a terrible guy. âClearly, Kathie was picking on me. But now she would talk ill of you as well.â
âShe canât take the risk.â Derek took a thoughtful glance around.
Even malicious gossipers like Kathie, who liked picking on the vulnerable, would be afraid to cross a tough one like him. Yes, he knew for sure.
Then, Derekâs gaze shifted to Natalie. âSpeaking of which, didnât you call me a stalker before? Why following me out now? Arenât you afraid Iâd do something to you, like a real stalker would?â
Natalie shook her head and remarked with a soft grin, âThereâs no harm me in any way.â
Turning around, Derek peered up at her. His lips curved into a sly grin. The breeze brushed over his hair. âThen weâre good now, right?â
âThere you are! What are you discussing? Have you guys been fighting?â Their conversation was interrupted by Zuriâs voice. She walked over to Natalie with a wine glassin hand. She wrapped her arm over Natalieâs shoulder and said, âDid Kathie just cause you trouble?â
Natalie grinned. âItâs all taken care of now. Since Iâm here on W Marksâ behalf, I not be a source of concern for you.â
She didnât give Kathie any credence at all. Tonight, Kathie said those things because she resented W Marks â success in Iridescent Show.
Zuri looked at Natalie with newfound regard. She followed that by taking a swig of the red wine. âWhy donât I take you to see someone?â
âWho Iâm I going to see?â Natalie agreed cheerfully. She was intrigued by Zuriâs enigmatic expression.
The trio made their way back to the party. The concentration pins and needles.
A gray-haired old guy sat in the middle. He was stylishly dressed and smoking a cigar. He was quite animated as he joked and laughed with the crowd.
âMr. Jenkins, have a look at who is with me,â Zuri said respectfully and drew Natalie in front of the man.
Natalie was quite acquainted with the elderly man. This guy This man, Axel Jenkins, was also the creator of Iridescent Show.
Axel scowled deeply and displayed a trace of discontentment on his face. âIâve already told you that you donât have to treat me with such deference.
That really dates me!â
âOh, okay. Next time, I wonât make that mistake.â Zuri cracked a grin.
Axel regarded Natalie and inquired, âWhy did Draco not come? Iâve seen his design. The situation is really serious.â

Were there some flaws in Dracoâs design? Was it because she altered the final garment of the collection, which dissatisfied Axel?
Axel stated while flicking the ash off his cigar, âI was unable to understand it. Why did Dracoâs style shift so drastically?â
His keen gaze settled on Natalie. âI see why now. Maybe Draco has a secret crush on someone he just canât figure out how to get her. His state of mind manifests itself in his designs.â
He guessed that Dracoâs crush was on the girl in front of him.
Following a little pause, Natalie grinned and stated, âYou misunderstood. Honestly, Mr. Wesley is just my boss. Mr. Wesley should find plenty to admire in the design job. Mr. Wesley once stated that design is his sweetheart. Designing perhaps end up being his soul mate!â
Axel sighed as he took a drag. He grinned and shook his head, but said nothing.
While they were talking, Derek was at a loss for words. He also showed no signs of wanting to engage in conversation.
He looked at Natalie with affection in his eyes. He was staring at her side face. He was completely unaware of how many times his manager next to him had called him!
