Chapter 518 Tasha was speechless. The other designers all looked at each other. Disappointment spread across every face in the room.
Dalores sneered. âWho was the one that decided you should spend all their working hours preparing a surprise party?â she scolded. âMr. Wesley is going to return home soon, to rest. Now that youâve arranged this event, it will only hinder his recovery. Stop it at once and clean everything up!â
Doloresâ words upset everyone further.
âItâs a surprise I asked everyone to prepare,â interjected Natalie. âDo you object, Dalores?â Natalie looked at Dalores challengingly. She knew that Draco was worried about the studio and, as such, he wouldnât have been able to rest now anyway. âIn addition to celebrating Mr. Wesleyâs discharge from the hospital, weâre also celebrating the success of W Marks in Iridescent Show. Everyone here has worked hard for W Marks. Why shouldnât they be allowed to spend ten minutes eating cake? Tasha, you can clean the table after youâve finished your cake.â
Draco was browsing through the files, so he hadnât noticed whatâd been going on in their area. Hearing Natalieâs voice, he turned his head and said, âThe success of our studio in Iridescent Show is indeed worth celebrating. Everyone, please go ahead and enjoy your cake. Donât worry about me.â
Draco then turned around and walked into his office.
âGreat!â someone cried happily. Everyone was overjoyed. They stopped cleaning, gathered back together and started cutting the cake.
Only Dalores, with her gloomy expression, was squeezed aside by the crowd. Despite her anger at the situation, she stayed silent.
Natalie tasted the cake and her eyes lit up. âWhere did you buy this cake?â she marveled. âItâs delicious, and not greasy at all.â
It was indeed a fabulous cake.
âI made it myself,â replied Tasha, blushing. âI used dairy cream, especially.â Tasha smiled shyly. She always blushed at the slightest praise. âIf you like it, I can teach you how to make it next time youâre over at my place,â she offered.
Natalie nodded. The designers were gathered together still, chatting fervently. âDo you know why Mr. Wesley was hospitalized this time?â one asked.
âThere are rumors about it everywhere,â another replied. âSomeone even suggested that Mr. Wesley was bewitched.â âOr did someone attack him? I heard that there was a riot on Natalie and Mr. Wesleyâs flight, and the plane didnât take off on time. I guess Mr. Wesley was shot. Did you notice the bandage on his arm?â
Hearing them speculate about the reason behind Dracoâs hospitalization, Dalores seized her opportunity.
She walked over wearing an evil smile. âDo you want to know the reason?â she jeered. âOnly one of us knows the truth â Natalie. After all, she was with Mr. Wesley that day.â 3 The two designers glanced at Natalie nervously.
Though Dalores didnât know the specific reason, she knew that Natalie must have been involved somehow.
She looked pointedly at Natalie and said, in a raised voice, âNatalie, why donât you answer everyoneâs questions? Why was Mr. Wesley hospitalized?â
Everyone stared at Natalie, waiting for her to tell the truth. Natalie stood still, stunned. Her eyes narrowed as she looked over at Dalores. There was a triumphant expression on Daloresâ face.
It was an undeniable truth that Natalie had been involved in the Draco situation, but Jorge, Elizabethâs ex-boyfriend, had been involved too. If Natalie told the truth, it would only raise more questions. .
âThere was an accident on the way to the airport,â she said finally, âIt wasnât a big deal. Donât think about it too much. Besides, the rumors arenâttrue.
Donâtbelieve them.â Natalie tried to explain as briefly and as vaguely as she could.
However, Dalores wasnât so easily satisfied. âYour explanation is far too perfunctory,â she said suspiciously. âYou havenât said anything we didnât already know. Since Mr. Wesley doesnât want to explain, itâs down to you to explain on his behalf. Thereâs been rumors swirling around about you too, you know. But, being your colleagues, we didnât dare mention them,â she added.
Natalie stared at Dalores with cold, expressionless eyes. âDonât spread rumors,â she said firmly Daloresâ smile vanished, and she shrugged. âI donât spread rumors,â she said sulkily. âI just heard that the flight was suspended for no reason, and that it was the Larson Group who prevented the plane from taking off.
You have no idea how nasty some of these rumors are. Someone said that it was Brandon who tried to kill Draco, because he was jealous of how close Draco was to you. Someone else said that you deliberately harmed Draco in order to go to Iridescent Show alone...â
Dalores suddenly gasped and covered her mouth dramatically. âOh, please donât be angry, Natalie. Did I say something I shouldnât have?â
Natalie smiled serenely. âI knew you hadnât turned over a new leaf,â she said in a soft voice. âYou still love to slander others...â
Dalores looked pleased with herself. When all was said and done, she had still won back Dracoâs trust. She no longer had to worry about being driven away by Natalie.
Natalie scowled.
Just then, Draco walked out of the office and interrupted them.

Thank you in advance for your hard work.â
Tasha put down her cake and took hold of the document. Almost everyone had been delegated an order, including a small one for herself.
âMr. Wesley, these orders...â she began. Tasha was more thankful than she could say.
âDonât worry,â said Draco kindly. âYouâve been working with W Marks for a while. Iâve seen your design, and I think it is in line with the order I arranged for you.â With a relaxed expression on his face, Draco looked quite gentle.
Tasha nodded. She distributed the document to every designer. After getting her copy, Natalie opened it and read it carefully. Hers was the only order that required a high -grade customized dress, and the quoted price was the highest by far.
âMr. Wesley, this seems beyond my capability,â she said, full of doubt. It was the first time Natalie had been delegated such an important order.
