Chapter 632 Tasha, emboldened by Natalieâs support, stepped forward and said, âIâve put in a lot of hard work and dedication in my designs. I believe I have a better understanding of childrenâs clothing than Natalie. I would be honored to help.â
Vivian clicked her tongue in irritation, not liking being interrupted. She turned her gaze towards Tasha and said, âTasha, is it? Iâve heard of you.â
Vivian had done some research on those closely associated with Natalie at W Marks Studio.
Tasha was ecstatic and believed that Vivian had heard of her name through her design works. âItâs an honor to be acknowledged by you,â she exclaimed, like a fish in water.
Vivian, however, had a different notion, with a cryptic grin on her face she quipped, âIâve been privy to the hearsay regarding Sethâs predicament. Your husband was known to swim against the tide when it came to the Larson Group before going to prison.â
Feeling embarrassed, Tasha corrected her in a hushed tone, âWe are no longer together, and heâs just my ex- husband.â
But Vivian was completely oblivious to Tashaâs correction. She smiled at Natalie and said, âMrs. Larson, I must commend you for being a beacon of kindness, to reach out to Sethâs wife despite the past. But I must remind you, be careful of Tasha since she used to be with someone like Seth.â
The atmosphere took a turn for the worse with Vivianâs words.
Taking a deep breath, Natalie, like a captain of a ship, broke the silence. âLetâs just get down to business. Tasha, take Miss Cooper to the meeting room and iron out the details of our cooperation.â
As Tasha and Vivian entered the meeting room, Natalie leaned against the table and let out a sigh, like a deflated balloon.
âTasha is going to take maternity leave. Can she finish this project before that?â Elizabeth had witnessed the tense scene unfold before her.
âI have no choice but to rely on Tasha. If it proves to be too much, Iâll lend a helping hand with the design.â
Natalie forced a smile and patted Elizabethâs shoulder. Then she added, âKeep an eye on them for me. I need to make a call.â
When Natalie walked to the restroom, she saw nobody was there. She breathed a sigh of relief and called Sean. 1 At the moment, Sean was carrying a pile of thick folders to be gone through by the executives for the year-end review. Without Brandon around, he was swamped with work in the Larson Group. Trying his best to look at the front through the gap in between the folders, he said, âExcuse me!
Coming through!â
As soon as he moved the documents to his office, his phone rang.
âMrs. Larson, what can I do for you?â Sean asked in surprise. It was strange for Natalie to call him during work hours.
âVivian is at W Marks now,â she replied, rubbing her temples. âShe is even pretending like she doesnât know that Brandon is in hospital.â
Sean understood the situation at once upon hearing what she said. âVivian isnât a simple character, but I didnât expect that she would come to you so soon. Just ignore her, Mrs. Larson.â
âDonât worry. I have refused to cooperate with her and recommended that project to another colleague.â
Deep inside, she pondered if Vivian was going to look for another chance since things didnât turn out the way she wanted.
âCooperation? Is it the welfare house uniform project that Charis was previously in charge of? It has been suspended for quite some time now.â Sean stroked his chin. The expression on his face changed slightly.
Vivian was such a crafty lady. If Brandon were to ask about it, she could keep herself out of trouble by saying that it was for the implementation of the project. What a perfect scheme!
After a momentâs silence, Sean said, âIâll ask Mr. Larson about this. Mrs. Larson, please donât take any action for the time being.â
âNo,â Natalie refused immediately. She called him because she didnât want to disturb Brandon in the hospital. âBrandon is still recuperating. Itâs better not to tell him about it. I rang you up just to tell you that Vivian has started her move. I donât want your original plan to be spoiled just because of this.â
Natalie knew that Brandon and Sean had a plan in their mind. She had overheard their conversation at that time. Though she wasnât sure what exactly they were going to do, she still decided to lend a hand.
Sean was stunned for a moment. âMrs. Larson, what do you want me to do?â
After thinking for a while, Natalie said in a low voice, âSean, you donât have to tell me Brandonâs whole plan. I just want to know what I should do so that Vivian doesnât suspect me.â
In the meeting room, Tasha had explained to Vivian the different types of school uniforms for children. Rather than making any choices out of them, Vivian was unhappy instead.
âWhatever you said earlier was too complicated. We donât need anything like that. Just pick a few simple designs first.â
Vivianâs mind was elsewhere. She kept thinking about how to get the information from Natalie that she didnât listen to Tashaâs explanation at all.

Noticing that Vivian was inattentive to her, Tasha felt that Vivian probably didnât want her to be the one designing the uniform after all.
Pursing her lips, Tasha pulled out a chair and sat down. âYou still hope that Natalie is the one who handles this project, right?â
Vivianâs eyes lit up. She was surprised that Tasha was sharp-witted. Without saying anything, she waited for Tasha to continue speaking.
âThis project is under the Larson Group, and youâre one of its employees. Itâs pretty understandable that you want your bossâ wife to be the designer,â
Tasha said bluntly. âWell, if you want to use this chance to curry favor with Natalie, I donât mind helping you with that.â
Not noticing that Vivianâs face was gradually stiffening, she continued, âIâm about to give birth soon, and Iâll be taking maternity leave in about two weeks. I wonât be able to complete this project alone before that. You should have let me know your thoughts earlier. We are all out here to make a living anyway. Iâm actually willing to do my best to help you.â
Clenching her fists, Vivian ch*oke back her anger. She couldnât help but be furious when she saw Tashaâs sympathetic stare on her.
