Chapter 645 After a while, both of them burst into laughter. Brandon held her hand and sq***zed it reassuringly.
âHoney, itâs all over now.â
Natalieâs heart was brimming. She couldnât believe their precious memories had finally come back to be cherished for life.
Natalie sobbed and buried her face into Brandonâs arm. He comforted her by gently smoothening her hair. She wiped her tears on his T-shirt and straightened up again. After a pause, she said with a smile, âNow that your memory is back, I canât trick into believing you owe me money anymore.â
Brandon put his arms around her and pulled her closer.
âAll my money is yours, sweetie. You can take it whenever you want.â
A warm smile surfaced on Natalieâs ruddy face. She looked deep into Brandonâs eyes.
Brandon pinched her soft cheeks and leaned over to k**s her gently on the l*ps.
Natalieâs mouth was half-open, as she was rising to k**s him back. But she suddenly remembered something and put a fi**ger to his l*ps, stopping him.
âArenât you going to work?â she then asked.
âIâm on leave today so I can spend time with you,â he whispered. Following her cues, Brandon started k**sing her fi**gers, slowly moving toward her wrist. Just as he started brushing his l*ps against her arm, Natalieâs phone rang.
It was Elizabeth. It took Natalie a second to compose herself again as her heart was racing from Brandonâs touch. At last, she cleared her throat and answered the call.
âHey, Lizzie. Whatâs up?â
âYou havenât reached the office yet, so I just called to make sure you wonât be late. Today is Tashaâs last day at work before she starts her maternity leave. We have to organize a farewell party for her.â Natalie looked at Brandon, pouting her mouth.
âOkay, Iâll be there soon,â she said and hung up.
âSorry, sweetie, I forgot. Iâll have to go to work soon.â
Natalie put her phone aside and held Brandonâs face and k**sed him again.
âRest well at home, honey.
Iâll see you when I get back.â
âGo ahead. Iâll work a little and rest. Iâll miss you.â Caressing her hair, Brandon added, âBe careful, okay?â
âYes, donât worry.â Understanding his concern, she smiled and walked upstairs to get changed and then headed to work.
Brandon stood up to clean the table after she left.
His head was filled with thoughts about the company. He realized how inactive Vivian had been of late. Something seemed really wrong with it.
In the kitchen, Brandon took off the apron and called Sean up to get an update.
âHello, Mr. Larson! How are you doing? Arenât you on leave today?â Sean was surprised to receive a call from Brandon.
âKeep an eye on Vivian. She has been too quiet of late,â said Brandon concisely, ignoring all of his other questions. Before hanging up, he added, âSort out the companyâs documents and send them over. Iâll work from home today.â
It was raining nonstop in Barnes in the past few days.
While Vivian was driving to the Larson Groupâs building, the drizzle outside gradually turned into torrential rain. Suddenly, a familiar figure of a woman appeared on the road.
Like always, she was elegantly dressed and was holding an umbrella to shield herself from the rain. Vivian watched as the woman joined the crowd not far away.
When she saw the womanâs face, her eyes widened in shock.
âMiss Turner?â she mumbled to herself.
But the next second, Chartsâ figure disappeared into the crowd.
Without thinking, Vivian rushed out of the car and followed Charts.
âMiss Turner, wait! Did you poison Mr. Larson? Tell me!â
Theories flooded Vivianâs mind one after another. She wanted to find out the truth right then and there, but Charts seemed to have vanished in thin air.
All of a sudden, Vivian felt a cold hand slap her back. She instinctively looked back and saw Charts standing behind her.
In a blink of an eye, Charis appeared in front of Vivian, reached out her hands, and tried to strangle Vivian.
âWhy didnât you take revenge for me? Why?! You even betrayed me.â
Charisâ delicate face looked so ferocious right now. It was unlike the gentle and elegant woman Vivian remembered. She was terrifying.
Meanwhile, Vivian could not breathe. Just as she felt she was going to pass out, she jolted awake.
It was a dream!
Vivian touched her neck and took deep breaths. Her nightmare felt so real that her body broke into a cold sweat.
At this moment, she looked outside the window and saw it was still dark. In a daze, she went to the bathroom and splashed her face with ice cold water. Before dawn, Vivian drove into a villa in the suburbs. It was one of the Turner familyâs properties as well.
âIs he still fighting back?â Vivian asked one of her subordinates. She couldnât fall asleep after having that nightmare, so she decided to come here.
âIâve tied him up, but he wouldnât shut up.â
Vivian dismissed her subordinates and opened the iron door to the basement. As she did so, a stink wafted into her senses.
Upon hearing the door open, the blindfolded man shouted, âWhy did you kidnap me? Mr. Larson, I didnât do anything! I swear to God Iâm innocent!â
With a sneer tugging at the corners of Vivianâs mouth, she dragged a chair for her to sit in front of the man.
âIf you didnât do anything, why did you leave your hometown and feign your death, leaving your 70-year-old mother alone? The salary of a rescue team isnât low as far as I know.â
A long time ago, when Natalie was in danger, Brandon personally participated in the search. But for some unknown reason, he fainted on the rescue ship.
After the investigation, Vivian realized that Arion Quinn, the man who had offered Brandon the drink before he fainted and lost his memory, was suspicious.
