I heard a soft giggle at the back. I turn around to see the most beautiful girl I've ever met. Samantha Jones. The head cheerleader of Boston High.
"So.. I saw you eyeing Samantha Jones." Mandy stated while wiggling her eyebrows.
"Yeah, I made her giggle a while back. She's physically attractive you know, you can't blame me."
"Yeah, but.."
"Yeah, she's out of my league." I completed what Mandy was about to say with a sad smile.
"No. No. No. That's not what I.. what I meant to say is she has a boyfriend. Clark, Clark Davies. The school baseball captain," "If she's single there's no doubt that you can bend her."
"WHAAAAT!?"
"BEND HER!?"
"I like her, but that doesn't mean that I want to f*ck her," "Jeez, Mandy! She's a cheerleader and all .. but I don't want to see her bend like that.. you know.. I mean, gosh!" I'm blushing like hell while the thought of Samantha bending like.. What the hell am I thinking.
"GOD! Amber, I didn't meant it like that. Your hilarious! For f*ck sake!" Mandy said while hysterically laughing at me.
"What!?" I added confusingly.
"AGAIN, what I meant to say is.. though she's straight I know you can BEND her,"
"You know, like Gender-Bender from the land of wind, earth, water and fire!"
"Oh. Gender-Bender huh!?" My cheeks are red as tomatoes now. God, I'm the perverted one in here.
Mandy started laughing again.
"Gosh.." "Your whipped!"
"Ha! Thanks Mands! Your amazing you know. Amazing." I added sarcastically while slapping her arm with my book sack.
"Come on Gender-Bender, let's go to the cafeteria and meet the others." Mandy shouted while walking ahead of me.
Everyone knows that I'm gay. My mom and my friends were accepting. This school is also an accepting community for people in LGBT. Though bullying is inevitable. I hate bullying. My friends and I is in the popular crowd. The good kind popular. Maybe because were the kind of people who stands for our rights and other people's right. If we see a student being bullied we defend them. We also do community service outside school to help those kids who cannot afford to have a good education. We help our teachers do out of reach programs to less fortunate. As a matter or fact I'm the President of Spread Kindness Club. A club that my friends and I built during freshman year. It has been 3 years and the club is still getting a lot of members and volunteers. Apart of being gay this is one of the things that I am proud of.
------------
"Amber! Mandy!" Zach shouted and wave at us to join their table.
"Hey guys," I waved at everyone. Sarah,  Gina, Clare, Mike, Zia, and Andy said "hey," "yo," "ei" "come on!" back at us simultaneously.
"So I heard, you guys have been singing the whole week." Zack snickered.
"See Amber, this is really embarrassing." Mandy nudge me for the 4th time this day.
"Hey, you know what's embarrassing? that guy in there!" I pointed the guy who's laughing at a girl at our opposite table. His throwing some of his popcorns to Jennifer. I think that's her name. I borrowed a pencil to her yesterday in our art class. She's kind and sweet, though she's very shy to talk to anybody.
"Wait here Guys, I'll handle this." I'm friendly to everyone. But not this time.
"Hey Man! Do we have a problem in here!!??" Giving the guy a death glare.
"No. Do you?" He countered back.
Before I can answer him I heard Jennifer said shyly and nervously.
"Amber.. Uhh.. It's okay. I'm okay."
"Is he making you uncomfortable?" I asked her with a low voice.
She didn't answer.
That's it.
"Sorry I don't know you, do you even have a name?" I asked the guy with a straight face. His in our grade I think. A senior.
"Pffft. Pretending that you don't know me? I know you like me. That's why you're here. Well, if your nervous enough not to remember my name because of how I look. I'm Shane. Shane Mitchelle," "Co-Captain of the baseball team." He signaled his hand to shake mine.
"Oh really? Sorry, I think I've watched one of your games. (Not really) I didn't even notice you," you sure your not from the douchebag-ball team?
"WHAT DID YOU JUST SAY!!?"
He furiously said back.
"Yeah. Your definitely on that team."
I added with no emotion.
"You f*ckin' Bit*h!" Do you even know what I can do to you!!??"
"No. Enlighten me." I said moving in front of him.
He was about to grab my arm when I hold his wrist and flex it until it made him whimper like a girl. Without releasing his wrist I got on his back and bend his arm making him stand to where he is seating.
"EFFIN HELL, STOP! Stop! Don't break my arm!" He pleaded in pain.
"Think twice, thrice or even a thousand times before you make a girl uncomfortable. That is if you can even think. Got it?" I asked him with a flat tone.
He didn't answer. He just mumbled some cursing word. Twisting his wrist a little bit more. I asked again.
"I said, Got it!?"
"Yeah. Yeah. Alright. Let me go. Okay. Alright..."
"Now say sorry to Jennifer." I added without letting him go.
"WHAT!!?" He snickered.
Another twist.
"GOD! OKAY!"
"I'm so.. rry."
"A little louder and asked Jennifer nicely." Twist.
"Shhh..t"
Twist.
"Alright! Jennifer, I'm sorry okay?"
This time he did what I asked him to do.
"Jennifer?" I asked her with a caring look.
"Yes.. Uhh. Amber, It's alright... You can.. let him go now. Thank you."
She blushed and look away from me.
"Good boy, Shame." I said to Shane. Making his name wrong.
"You'll pay for this." Shane walk out from the cafeteria.
"Let me know where." I countered back.
I brought my attention back to Jennifer.
"You sure you're okay?"
"Yes.. Yes.. Again.. Uhh. Thank you. So much. Thank you for standing up for me." She mumbled to herself.
"Let me know if he messes with you again. Alright?"
"Yes." She answered shyly.
"Wohooo!!! That's our Gender Bender! I mean our Girl! Yes our Girl!" Mandy shouted in the entire cafeteria. Making me embarrass. That's I've realized that a lot of student witnessed my little confrontation with the co-captain of the douchebag-ball team. I sighed. What can I do. Someone need to stand up for people like Jennifer. If I didn't who would?
Then there she is. Looking at me again. Those deep blue sparkling eyes reading me. She timidly smiled back again. Twice this day. Twice.
